The quality of educational institutions is influenced by teaching and learning process that is students and lecturers. Novalita (2006) state that to learn a language the learners need more than just once or twice, but they need many time to understand the language, the real meaning of the language, the structure of the language, and so on. There is no good strategies in teaching process, but suitable strategy which is can be used in the teaching process. Therefore, every teacher or lecturer should master many strategies in the teaching and learning process. Some strategies can be applied to some students or learners, but it can’t be applied to all of students or learners. he goal of this study is to observe how the teacher implements English teaching instruction at English language center (PKPBI). Technology has impacted the learning approaches and vice-versa with an aim to improve the standards of language teaching/learning process. The present study focuses on teachers’ preferences and use of technology in their language classrooms. A survey was conducted to seek opinion of EFL teachers both male and female at the English language center on technology-related competencies. The survey comprised four domains: planning and preparation, classroom management, instruction, and professional responsibilities (Danielson, 2007).The questionnaire was distributed to 100 English language teachers (50 males and 50 females) at Taif University English Language Centre. The responses revealed that most of the teachers thought aware of the technology and its uses in education don’t integrate technology in their teaching at planning and preparation stage. They use the available technological gadget in the classroom to exploit some of the activities. They must use the university LMS for uploading certain activities and assessment otherwise they hesitate to design technology-based activities for English language learners. They and the students need training in integrating technology with teaching and learning process.

ACTIVITIES FOR SUBSEQUENT OFFER IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING  IN THE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION Abstract: Subsequent technical course offer plays an important role in vocational and technological education. In this paper, we report the English teaching course experience (60h/class), offered in the high school level technical course in Chemistry in the subsequent form, from industrial control and processes axis, at IFRN/MC, during the second semester of 2011. Given the lack of educational material adoption that could guide the teaching and learning process, pedagogical practice resulted in offering different activities, considering the course aims described in the course pedagogical project, English teaching previous experience based on a communicative approach and the appreciation of this practice in the light of official documents that guide teaching. Thus, the activities proposed in this context could be categorized into 4 types: activities proposed for everyday English use; activities proposed for writing basic texts; activities proposed for translation; activities proposed for harmonious ambience establishment. This pedagogical project development resulted in students engagement in the teaching and learning process in a very participatory way, allowing us to conclude that contents studied were perceived as meaningful to students (future) professional practice. The growing challenges for higher education are requiring institutions efforts to revise and innovate curriculum, to express attractives to their potential audiences and articulate ways of managing the discourse of quality improvement. In epistemological perspective, it’s needed to invest in the conceptual theme that combines teaching and research, expanding the reflection about naturalization that this discourse is sustaining the quality of higher education. From the field of pedagogical knowledge is required a base of research and reflection, focusing on curriculum, teaching and learning processes and their quality dimension. This perspective focuses heavily on the design of teaching and knowledge necessary to its exercise. Should also be a concern that the political dimension may be more complex because it involves the review of cultures, visions and corporate interests that were consolidated by tradition. Make use of action research as a tool for the production of knowledge about the practices of teaching and learning at university can be a significant strategy to change the usual equation of research on teachers to do it with teachers. And this condition constitutes a challenge to achieve the democratization efforts of higher education, “qualifying the quality” of pedagogic practice for the relationship teaching and research.</p></div></div>

English language is an International language. This makes the use of English in teaching-learning process in countries, where English is generally not a local medium of communication, become important. Mathematics is also very important for every student, but several previous research showed that students had difficulty in learning this subject. The purpose of this experimental study is to see the effectiveness of the use of English in teaching-learning process of economic mathematics towards economic undergraduate students. The result shows us that students who learn mathematics with English-medium system have better achievement than students who learn mathematics with local language. Another finding was students learn mathematics more enthusiastic when the teaching-learning process is made with the language they chose.Keyword: English language, economic mathematics, teaching learning.

This study was focused on the analysis of code-switching occurred in the English teaching and learning process at non-English major class. This study examined the code-switching forms and functions of code-switching in the classroom. This study focuses on the analysis of code-switching occurred in the English teaching and learning process at non-English department class. This study examines the forms and functions of code-switching in the classroom at the lecturing process of English major as conduced at non-English department of Dian Nuswantoro university. Findings of the study showed that (1) the teaching learning process of non-English department class at Dian Nuswantoro university students employed various kinds of code-switching both by lecturers and the students with the dominant used was inter-sentential code-switching/full sentence code-switching. (2) there were various functions of code-switching utilized by the lecturer and students in the lecturing process, such as put an interjection in the middle of speech, to give emphasis toward certain topic, to repeat the speech, to give more description about certain topic, to talk about particular topic, to soften and straighten the request or command, to exclude others from the discussion, to express group identity, and to quote somebody’s utterances. Further studies hopefully can explore deeply about code-switching where lecturers teach English department students and uncover the lecturer and students’ perception on the occurrence of code-switching as the comparison to this current study.
