<p class="AbstractText">For today's rapidly changing business environment are characteristic changes like globalization of the market place, technological changes, increased business complexity, intensified global competition, increased customer bargaining power, new resources of competitive advantage and more. Therefore, to be successful and able to compete in this environment, companies must identify and analyze their existing position, define mission, vision, strategic goals and operate more effectively. The key to success is to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of all business processes based on measurement and management of their performance. Using performance management system companies can plan, measure and manage the performance of all company activities. Properly designed, created and implemented performance management system can then help the company achieve the desired outputs. The literature, however, states that this is not a simple task, and many companies have problems especially with implementation of these systems. Unfortunately, it is still not quite clear what factors influence successful development, implementation, usage and continuous improvement of the performance management system in companies. There is a gap in the identification of factors influencing the development, implementation, usage and continuous improvement of the performance management system, their detailed study and analysis in practice. For this reason, it is important to deal with the identification, analysis and study of internal and external factors influencing the implementation and continuous improvement of performance management system. The aim of this paper is to identify and analyze internal and external factors influencing the implementation and continuous improvement of the performance management system, which these companies use. In the questionnaire survey is particularly investigated whether managers of surveyed companies are able to identify factors influencing the implementation and continuous improvement of the performance management system. Afterwards is carried out a detailed description of selected key internal factors, and their detailed analysis including identification of the relationship of these factors to the performance management system. Data were obtained by mail questionnaire survey on a sample of large manufacturing and non-manufacturing companies operating in the Czech Republic. The research findings are evaluated within the context of the theoretical background and the conclusions of similar studies.</p>

Human behaviour is at the centre of most environmental problems; hence, the promotion of pro-environmental behaviour is considered to be a pathway towards sustainability. Despite the availability of insights gained from pro-environmental behaviour studies, mainly from household and workplace settings, a key question remains—can these insights be applied in university residence settings? Within university campuses, student residences are a major entity in sustainability debates because they are major consumers of resources including paper, water and energy with severe repercussions for university budgets and the environment. Using a questionnaire survey, this study explores reported pro-environmental behaviour and its determinants at Rhodes University, South Africa. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics where relevant. The findings show a high level of heterogeneity in reported pro-environmental behaviour, attributed to a suite of internal and external factors. Internal dispositional factors seemed to constrain students from acting pro-environmentally. This study highlights the need to encourage environmental behaviour in university residence settings by supporting the antecedents of and getting rid of barriers to pro-environmental actions.

This research investigates the corporate environmental performance (CEP) literature toward its financial performance of the firm. CEP is defined as the exercise and practices of companies to choose sensible measures to save and develop environment-friendly green activities. The influence of CEP on the financial performance of the firm via technological capability was examined. Furthermore, public awareness was hypothesized to moderate the impact of CEP on technological capability indicating moderation mediation. When public awareness was high, the relationship between the CEP and technological capability should be stronger. Content analysis was used for data collection. The model was tested using a sample of 1491 observations from the manufacturing companies of Pakistan. The data were collected between the period 2008 and 2017 from the annual reports of the companies, State Bank of Pakistan, and Pakistan Stock exchange. A hierarchical regression analysis was used for data analysis. Using bootstrap analysis, we used model 8 in Stata to examine conditional direct and indirect effects. Results supported the indirect effect of CEP on financial performance through strengthening technological capability. Both direct and indirect effects were significant. Consistent with theoretical assumptions, the indirect effect becomes stronger with high public awareness and diminished with low public awareness. Both theoretical and practical contributions are discussed based on the outcomes.

Purpose The banking industry plays a key role in society because of its role as a financial intermediary. Today’s banks are being asked to endorse environmental objectives, and recent studies have shown that large banks with strong financial performance are more likely to engage in environmental actions. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the link between corporate financial performance (CFP) and corporate environmental performance (CEP). Design/methodology/approach The authors focused on the French banking sector, using the data from a sample consisting of 191 observations covering 68 banks from 2008 to 2011. The environmental scores from the Vigeo database were the proxy measures for the extent to which banks engage in environmental actions. A panel regression model was employed for this study. Findings The findings show that high CFP was associated with high CEP. The findings also reveal that CFP and CEP may strengthen each other, suggesting a complex bidirectional relationship. Originality/value While many studies have examined whether it pays to be green, thus focusing on the causal relationship from CEP to CFP, few have considered that the causal direction might be reversed, from CFP to CEP. Furthermore, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first to analyze the CFP-CEP relationship using French bank data.

<p>The objective of this study was to explore the improvement of Nestle milk district model in East Java. Secondary data on dairy development in East Java was used to analyse internal and external factors. SWOT analysis method was used to evaluate existing condition of dairy development in East Java and to build a recomended strategy to improve milk district model. In simplest terms, setting up a milk district involved: a) negotiating agreements with farmers for twice-daily collection of their milk, b) installing chilling centers in the larger community and collection points in the villages or adapting existing collection infrastructure, c) arranging transportation from collection centers to the district’s factory, and d) implementing a program to improve milk quality. In reality building a milk district model is not core business or core competence of Nestle but its something absolutely necessary to be introduced. After this program have been introduced, the smallscale dairy farmers were capable to organise themselves to produce freshmilk. Nestle have introduced various insentive systems to support smallscale dairy farmers capacity to guarantee that they have self responsability in dairy farming activities have positive impacts on productivity, quality product and product safety, that all that aspects will give benefit to Nestle.</p><p>(Key words: Milk district model, Dairy farmer, Dairy cooperative, Milk processing industry, Strategy, Program)<br /><br /></p>

This essay analyzes the political motivations behind the Jewish Nation-State Bill introduced in the Knesset in November 2014, shedding light on the ascendancy of the Israeli political establishment's radical right wing. It argues that there were both internal and external factors at work and that it is only by examining these thoroughly that the magnitude of the racist agenda currently being promoted can be grasped. The essay also discusses the proposed legislation's long history and the implications of this effort to constitutionalize what amounts to majoritarian despotism in present-day Israel.
