O presente trabalho teve como objetivo conhecer o perfil sociodemográfico e econômico dos estudantes de um curso Técnico de Enfermagem. Estudo de caráter exploratório de abordagem quantitativa sendo a população composta por 84 estudantes matriculados em uma instituição federal no sul de Minas Gerais. Os dados foram coletados e tabulados em 2017. As entrevistas foram realizadas em sala de aula e o trabalho foi aprovado pelo comitê de ética em pesquisa. Os resultados mostraram que as características predominantes foram estudantes do sexo feminino, cor branca ou parda, católicos, solteiros, sendo o pai ou padrasto o chefe da família. A média de idade variou de 22 a 26 anos e a maioria residente no estado de Minas Gerais, com média de quatro pessoas por domicílio. Possuíam uma renda média per capta de 417,00 reais.  O estudo permitiu constatar que o ensino profissionalizante não é oferecido somente para as classes menos favorecidas, mas sim para pessoas que almejam uma oportunidade no mercado de trabalho independente da classe social que ocupa.

Este artigo trata de um relato de experiência de um projeto de extensão realizado por discentes e docentes da área da saúde da Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro, com o objetivo de difundir informações a respeito da prevenção e diagnóstico precoce de diversos tipos de câncer. O projeto buscou alcançar um público de diversas faixas etárias, executando suas ações em uma escola infantil, em uma praça da cidade, e para pacientes que estivessem na sala de espera do ambulatório do Hospital das Clínicas da universidade. Fomentou-se o trabalho multidisciplinar no desenvolvimento das ações de prevenção e promoção à saúde, por meio de uma equipe de diversas áreas da saúde. Foram utilizados recursos didáticos e lúdicos adequados para as diferentes faixas etárias e níveis de escolaridade. A experiência contribuiu para a formação dos discentes da instituição de ensino, permitindo-lhes executar uma proposta de atuação integrada, interdisciplinar e intersetorial, em consonância com as prerrogativas do Sistema Único de Saúde, bem como contribuiu para promover a prevenção e diagnóstico precoce do câncer entre o público-alvo. Palavras-chave: Oncologia; Relações Comunidade-Instituição; Formação em Saúde University extension for the prevention and promotion of early cancer diagnosis in Minas Gerais   Abstract: This paper is an experience report of an extension project carried out by students and professors in the health area of a Brazilian university in Minas Gerais, to disseminate information about the prevention and early diagnosis of various types of cancer. The project aimed to reach an audience of different age groups, performing their activities in a primary school, in a city square, and patients who were waiting to be attended at the University Clinical Hospital. Multidisciplinary work was carried out to develop prevention and health-promoting activities through a team of different health-related courses. Didactic and ludic resources suitable for different age groups and educational levels were used. The experience contributed to the training of students at the educational institution, allowing them to carry out an integrated, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral action proposal, in line with the prerogatives of the Brazilian Unified Health System, as well as helping to promote the prevention and early diagnosis of cancer among the targeted audience. Objetivo: investigar a qualidade de vida de estudantes do curso técnico em enfermagem e os desafios associados à formação profissional. Método: trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, descritivo, observacional, transversal e analítico, com discentes de uma instituição federal de ensino. Coletaram-se os dados utilizando o questionário WHOQOL-breve e o formulário com variáveis complementares. Empregaram-se, na análise bivariada, o teste t de student e a correlação de Pearson. Realizou-se a análise de regressão linear múltipla para verificar os fatores associados aos escores de qualidade de vida (p<0,05). Resultados: compôs-se o estudo por 165 discentes. Evidenciou-se, no domínio social, melhor avaliação média e a pior avaliação foi o domínio meio ambiente. Encontraram-se discentes com vontade de desistir do curso com escore médio de qualidade de vida menor em todos os domínios, sendo que aqueles que relataram dificuldade de se manter no curso por razões financeiras tiveram escores menores nos domínios físico (p=0,024) e ambiental (p<0,001). Conclusão: aferiu-se a pior qualidade de vida entre discentes com fragilidades nas redes de apoio social e financeira, o que pode impactar o rendimento escolar e o risco de evasão. Data was collected using the WHOQOL-brief questionnaire and the form with complementary variables. In the bivariate analysis, the Student's t test and Pearson's correlation were used. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to verify factors associated with quality of life scores (p <0.05). Results: the study was composed by 165 students. In the social domain, the best average rating was evidenced and the worst one was the environment domain. Students were willing to drop out of the course with a lower average quality of life score in all domains, and those who reported difficulty in maintaining the course for financial reasons had lower scores in the physical (p = 0.024) and environmental domains. (p <0.001). Conclusion: the worst quality of life was assessed among students with weaknesses in social and financial support networks, which may impact school performance and the risk of dropout. Los estudiantes estaban dispuestos a abandonar el curso con un puntaje promedio de calidad de vida más bajo en todos los dominios, y aquellos que informaron dificultades para mantener el curso por razones financieras tuvieron puntajes más bajos en el dominio físico (p = 0.024) y ambiental (p <0,001). Conclusión: se evaluó la peor calidad de vida entre los estudiantes con debilidades en las redes de apoyo social y financiero, lo que puede afectar el rendimiento escolar y el riesgo de abandono escolar. Background: The sudden outbreak break of crisis made the educational institution to switch over the mode of teaching from traditional method to E-Learning. The main objective of the present study is to assess the existing level of Knowledge, Attitude and Practice about E- learning among B.Sc Nursing Students in selected Nursing colleges, to correlate all the outcome variables with each other. Methodology: A cross sectional descriptive survey study was conducted among B.Sc Nursing Students in selected Nursing colleges, Puducherry with 400 samples, selected through cluster random sampling technique. Quantitative approach was used for this study and the design was descriptive cross-sectional design. Data was collected by using self-structured questionnaire prepared by the researcher. Results: The results revealed that, out of 400 samples, nearly more than half of the samples 211(52.8%) had inadequate Knowledge about E-Learning. Further, the data was analyzed by using the Karl Pearsons correlation and it had shown positive correlation which is found to be statistically significant at p<0.01 level between all three variables. Regarding the association, previous experience of attending classes online classes, gender and total family income per annum had shown significant association with Knowledge, educational status of the mother, total family income per annum and sibling having separate gadgets for attending E-Learning had shown statistically significant association with Attitude, use of gadgets by the subjects siblings having separately for attending E-Learning had statistically significant association with Practice at p<0.05 level. Conclusion: The study concludes that the E-Learning should be recommended for the Students to update their Knowledge and practice with desirable attitude changes to adapt E-learning for their learning platform.

Objective: to identify the pattern of alcohol consumption among undergraduate nursing students. Methodology: this is about a quantitative-descriptive study with 393 students in undergraduate courses in nursing at the Catholic University of Minas Gerais. Data were collected from a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistic. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Catholic University of Minas Gerais. Resulted: the students consume alcohol and energy drinks, beer is the most consumed beverage and bars and discos are often used. Events following drinking included: classroom lack, driving vehicles and fights. Women are responsible for diverse consumption of alcoholic beverages and men have less diversification, but consuming more doses per day. Regarding the use of alcohol in the family, students point to the parent as consumer abuse. Conclusion: the significant consumption of alcohol among undergraduate nursing students from Minas Gerais Catholic University is a problem that must be addressed through implementation of preventive and damage reduction program. This study investigated nursing students’ perceptions towards educational service quality provided by specialty departments at the Faculty of Nursing, Alexandria University. It also identified barriers and offers recommendations for improvement. A cross-sectional descriptive design was carried out utilizing a SERVPERF-based survey developed by Cronin and Taylor (1992) to measure students’ perceptions towards educational service quality. The participants’ responses to the reliability dimension (75.5 ± SD 12.7) were the highest scoring, while participants’ perceptions to the tangibles dimension were the lowest (61.0 ± SD 17.5). Further, students’ opinions regarding barriers to quality services were related to “limited time for study” and “inadequate equipment for clinical training”. Responses to positive factors affecting the quality of services were “accuracy of work”, “effective communication”, and “gaining new knowledge”, as perceived by students. The highest perceived service quality dimension among students was reliability followed by assurance, empathy, responsiveness, and tangibles. Moreover, the majority of students expressed that the Faculty of Nursing gave them prestige in the community, they were happy to study nursing, and they would not study in another higher educational institution even if they had an opportunity to do so.

BACKGROUND: Hand hygiene (HH) performing is a must in health care settings because it affects the human lives. Health Care Workers (HCW) must be aware and be trained continuously as regards hand hygiene.AIM: The aim of this article was to evaluate and compare the knowledge before and after an educational training of undergraduate nursing students at an educational institution in Pristine, Kosovo.METHODS: A pre- post survey was conducted in February 2016 at an educational institution in Pristine, Kosovo. The World Health Organization (WHO) questionnaire for hand hygiene knowledge of Health Care Workers (HCW) was used to collect the data.RESULTS: From a total of 100 students, only 13 (13 %) were men and 87 (87%) were women. Their ages ranged between 18-23 years old. Only 55 (55 %) had poor knowledge level, 42 (42%) had moderate knowledge level and only 3 (3%) had good knowledge about HH practices before the training and after the training only 1 (1%) participant was found with poor knowledge, 61 (61%) moderate knowledge and 38 (38 %) good knowledge. The training had a significant impact on the acquisition of HH’ knowledge. This was shown by the significant difference between the total points before and after the training (p <0.001).CONCLUCION: The training should be done consistently and be part of the nursing school curriculum, maintaining a satisfactory level of knowledge about hand hygiene as these students in a near future will face with Hand Hygiene (HH) issues in their daily clinical work.

RESUMOObjetivo: avaliar a percepção de estresse em baixa, média e alta e a relação entre a percepção do estresse e características sociodemográficas em acadêmicos de Enfermagem. Método: estudo quantitativo, transversal, em que foram incluídos 136 acadêmicos de Enfermagem de uma instituição particular de ensino, com o uso do questionário sociodemográfico e a Escala de Estresse Percebido (PSS-14). Os resultados foram submetidos à análise estatística por meio do programa SPSS, versão 17.0. Os dados foram apresentados em tabelas. Resultados: a maioria dos acadêmicos (63=46,3%) apresenta média percepção de estresse. As variáveis sociodemográficas não apresentaram associação estatisticamente significativa com a percepção de estresse. Conclusão: número significativo de universitários apresenta média percepção de estresse. Observa-se que os acadêmicos casados e que ingerem bebida alcoólica apresentaram maior percepção. Já realizar atividade física auxilia em uma menor percepção de estresse. É relevante observar que a percepção de estresse média ou alta constatada neste estudo é preocupante considerando a saúde desses participantes e seu futuro profissional. Os dados deste estudo contribuem cientificamente com o fornecimento de subsídios e auxiliam a identificar variáveis sociodemográficas que podem vulnerabilizar os acadêmicos na percepção do estresse. Ners education in Indonesia is integrated between academic learning and clinical learning. The learning environment of conducive clinical practice is highly conquered. The environment in which, the atmosphere that supports students to learn. Things that are not obtained by nursing students in academic learning environment will be obtained at the time of clinical learning practice. To identify students' perceptions of the clinical practice learning environment and supervision of the hospital-based clinical practice learning process in Indonesia and the influencing factors. The design of this study used correlational analytic survey method with cross-sectional approach, with sampling technique of convinience sampling. The study population is Ners educational institution. The sample of research is 3 institution of Ners education organizer in East Java. Instruments using ELBKS + D Indonesian version. Respondents aged between 20 to 28 years, 20-22 years of 89 (54.3%), female sex of 115 (70.1%). Medical Surgical Nursing became the most widely practiced stages of 62 (37.8%). That the practical stages are significantly related to the role of the lecturer on the scale of ELBKS + D with r-value = 0.158 and ρ-value = 0.044. Discussion: Nursing students consider that the success of clinical teaching practice is determined primarily by the content of supervisory relationships and the role of nursing lecturers. The nurse lecturer role sub variable in ELBKS + D has correlation with student's precursor stages.
