The work is devoted to the conversion and use of solar energy in solar panels. The article shows that one of the clue parameters for evaluating the efficiency of solar panels and photovoltaic cells, the fill factor decreases with increasing temperature. The issue of reducing the influence of the temperature factor on the efficiency of solar panels is also considered. Based on the research, the conclusion is given that the idling voltage should be as high as possible.

People can make solar energy alternative energy by employing solar panels to generate electricity. The utilization of solar energy on a solar panel to generate electricity is affected by the weather and the duration of the radiation, and they will affect the solar panel’s temperature. There are various types of solar panels that can be found on the market today, including Mono-Crystalline and Poly-Crystalline. The difference in the material used needs to be observed in terms of temperature changes in the solar module. Our study’s findings showed that a change in the temperature would impact the solar panel’s output voltage, and the solar panel’s output voltage would change when it was connected to the load although the measured temperatures were almost the same.

Photovoltaic cells are converts about 15% of the solar energy falling into the useful electricity. The increase in the temperature increases the resistance of these cell and in turns decreases the cell efficiency. So, cooling these panels is the effective way of increasing the cell efficiency. The performance of the solar panel increases by reducing the temperature. This cooling is done by air cooling or water cooling on the self-designed modified panel. The solar panels are cooled by passing air with the help of blower.

To meet the needs of electrical energy, there are alternative energy sources such as solar power in a form of solar power plant. An important equipment aim to handle the of converting of solar energy into electrical energy are solar cells. The development of devices used to modify solar energy into electrical energy has been done since the mid-first half of the last century. Gradually the device is named by scientists with a photovoltaic device, or so-called solar cells (solar cell. This research tested polycrystalline solar module in sunny weather, bright cloudy and overcast. The test results show the effect of solar cell surface temperature to the value of its output power [1]. The condition of the polycrystalline solar panels will work optimally at the measured 32° C - 50° C temperature range on the surface of the solar cell.

The modern level of agriculture is described by the introduction of renewable energy sources. New generation sprinkler machines are being put into production, in the power system of which solar panels are used. One of the factors that negatively affect the performance of solar cells in an open field is their dusting, which is formed as a result of dust storms and wind. Cleaning of the battery panels is carried out in various ways: manual, semi-automatic and automatic. Dust cleaning is included in maintenance. (Research purpose) The research purpose is to determine the conditions for performing the maintenance, which consists in cleaning solar panels in the field. (Materials and methods) Theoretical (analysis, hypothesis design), empirical (observation, testing), experimental (ascertaining experiment) methods has been used during research. (Results and discussion) The article describes an introduced parameter for estimating the level of dusting. The power loss indicator shows the ratio of the power of the dusted module to the power of the clean module. Unscheduled maintenance is affected by the distance of the solar module from the repair point, the power of the solar module, the loss from dusting, the frequency of maintenance and cost indicators. (Conclusions) It has been found the dependence of maintenance period of the solar module of the sprinkler machine on the distance to the sprinkler machine, to the point of maintenance and repair, the power loss coefficient in case of dusting of the solar module, the cost of performing maintenance, as well as the frequency of maintenance. Article describes the boundaries of the choice of operating mode of the sprinkler between unscheduled maintenance for cleaning the solar module and the acceptance of additional power of the sprinkler power supply system according to the criterion of minimum operating costs.

This paper design an intelligent photovoltaic cell test system. The high performance dual-core 16bits SPCE061A microprocessors are used as control and data processing center. The powerful data operation ability of SPCE061A makes it to carry out software filter for measured data and enhances testing precision. the experiments demonstrated the test system can measure the characteristic parameters of photovoltaic cells: open voltage, current, the fill factor and photoelectric conversion efficiency, draw photovoltaic cells I-V curve, find the best working points , and also have the characteristics of miniaturization and intelligent.

According to the challenge of the reduction of greenhouse gases, the structure of energy production should be revised and the increase of the ratio of alternative energy sources can be a possible solution. Redistribution of the energy production to the private houses is an alternative of large power stations at least in a partial manner. Especially, the utilization of solar energy represents a real possibility to exploit the natural resources in a sustainable way. In this study we attempted to survey the roofs of the buildings with an automatic method as the potential surfaces of placing solar panels. A LiDAR survey was carried out with 12 points/m2 density as the most up-to-date method of surveys and automatic data collection techniques. Our primary goal was to extract the buildings with special regard to the roofs in a 1 km2 study area, in Debrecen. The 3D point cloud generated by the LiDAR was processed with MicroStation TerraScan software, using semi-automatic algorithms. Slopes, aspects and annual solar radiation income of roof planes were determined in ArcGIS10 environment from the digital surface model. Results showed that, generally, the outcome can be regarded as a roof cadaster of the buildings with correct geometry. Calculated solar radiation values revealed those roof planes where the investment for photovoltaic solar panels can be feasible.

Indonesia has more than 17,000 islands and has plenty of beautiful beaches and underwater spots which have great potential for maritime tourism. Tourism was ranked 3rd on Indonesia's foreign income and plays an important role for the country’s ecomony. Despite having potential advantages, the government has not yet maximized its efforts to develop the attractiveness of its maritime tourism. Beside the beautiful spots Indonesia is also blessed with all year long sun shine, which could be tapped as renewable and green energy as substitution to fossil fuel. Refer to these great advantages of natural resources the research was aimed to support the government’s program in developing its maritime tourism and to promote the use of green and renewable energy by designing a solar-powered tourism recreational boat which has 12 meters of length. The paper is focused on the design of solar energy and its electrical system, which includes conversion of solar energy to electrical energy and store it in the battery, the required electrical power is also predicted based on the appliances and equipment installed in the boat, the optimum attachment of solar panels on the boat structure is also calculated. All the methods and information we use are obtained from literature study, discussion with experts, and surveys to Jagur as solar-powered electric boat from Universitas Indonesia.

In the field of agriculture, use of proper method of irrigation is important because the  main reason is the lack of rains and scarcity of land reservoir water. The continuous extraction of water from earth is reducing the water level due to which lot of land is coming slowly in the zones of  un-irrigated land. Another very important reason of this is due to unplanned use of water due to which a significant amount of water goes waste. The system derives power from solar energy through photovoltaic cells. Hence, dependency on erratic commercial power is not required. In this paper we use solar energy which is used to operate the irrigation pump. The circuit comprises of sensor parts built using op-amp IC. Op-amp’s are configured here as a comparator. Two stiff  probes are inserted in the soil to sense whether the soil is wet  or dry. A microcontroller is used to control the whole system by monitoring the sensors and when sensors sense dry condition of soil, then microcontroller will send command to relay driver IC the contacts of which are used to switch on the motor and it will switch off the motor when the soil is in wet condition. The microcontroller does the above job as it receives the signal from the sensors through the output of the comparator, and these signals operate which is stored in ROM of the microcontroller. The condition of the pump i.e., ON/OFF is displayed on a 16X2 LCD which is interfaced to the microcontroller. Further it can be enhanced in future by interfacing it with a GSM modem to gain control over the switching operation of the motor.
