Intensive shrimp farms need mangroves to increase the carrying capacity of their waters. Every 1 Ha of intensive shrimp pond requires 7.2 Ha mangrove to absorb nitrogen (N) and 21,7 Ha to absorb phosphor (P) from waste water disposal. This study was conducted to estimate the extent of lmangrove required to absorb nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) wastes removed from intensive shrimp farming in Banyuputih Subdistrict of Situbondo Regency. From the field survey results obtained data on the area of productive intensive ponds in the District Banyuputih is 39 Ha. The result of data analysis indicate that 280,3 Ha mangrove is needed to support the absorption of nitrogen (N) and 846,3 Ha mangrove to absorb phosphorus (P) of effectiveness pond waste pond in the study area. The mangrove in this subdistrict of Banyuputih (540,18 Ha) still support in the absorption of nitrogen waste (N), but for the absorption of phosphorus posfor (P) ponds still needed reforestation of at least 304,12 Ha from the existing mangrove area. If the local government intends to develop intensive shrimp ponds in accordance with the carrying capacity or maximum capacity of coastal waters of Banyuputih in decomposing 58 ha of tambak organic ponds, the current mangrove condition (540.18 Ha) still supports the absorption of nitrogen (N) from ponds intensively covering an area of 58 Ha, but to absorb the posfor (P) lagoon is still needed addition (reforestation) of 718.42 Ha.

Abstract. Afsholnissa S, Hernawan E, Lastini T. 2019. Land cover change and land use suitability analyses of coastal area in Bantul District, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 20: 1475-1481. Shrimp farming in the southern coast of Bantul District is considered to be the cause of environmental degradation, decline of mangrove association due to logging for land conversion to shrimp pond and also considered to be the cause of agricultural land for crops around the shrimp pond. The purpose of this study was to identify land use change and analyze the land suitability for shrimp farming, agriculture, and mangrove plant associations. Identification of land use was done using ENVI 5.3. The study identified 34.88 ha (3.16%) empty ponds, 20.97 ha (1.90%) active ponds and as much as 91.93 ha (8.31%) land used for agriculture. The identification of land use change using Google Timelapse revealed a dominant land conversion of sandy soil and mangrove plant area into shrimp ponds in 2007 and continue to increase from 2011 to 2015. Land suitability was evaluated using ArcGIS 10.5 with an overlay method. The results revealed that 634.82 ha area of the land was suitable for shrimp ponds and 84.32 ha area were suitable for non-paddy agriculture. Lands suitable for paddy field were about 148.58 ha, and that for mangrove plant association was 616.42 ha. Spatially, coastal area of Bantul District was dominantly suitable for shrimp farming.

Since the last 7 years, the developing use of the coastal area of West Sumbawa very rapidly increase as the fishponds, sea estates and tourism objects. The northern part of the study area, from Labuan Tano to Labuan Sepakek Kecamatan Seteluk rapidly develope as the fishpond areas, while in Taliwang Bay Kecamatan Taliwang, the coastal and sea are used for sea estate by using modern technology. The southern part of the study area, developes as a tourism city at Desa Maluk, Kecamatan Jereweh. The developing of Desa Maluk is not supported by the environmental carrying capacity and the integrated programme, therefor soon or latter it will bring the bed environmental impacts on the coastal or sea areas. Some areas that recommended to be developed as the tourism objects, are the southern part of Labuan Sepakek, Labuan Balad, Kertasari Bay, Bennette Bay, Jelenga Bay and Maluk, while Labuan Tetong in the northern part of Kertasari Bay is suitable to be developed for fishponds estate with a sustainable environmental consideration.

Grassland resources are an important part of land resources. Moreover, it has the functions of regulating the climate, windproof and sand fixation, conserving water sources, maintaining water and soil, raising livestock, providing food, purifying the air, and beautifying the environment in terrestrial ecosystems. Grassland resource evaluation is of great significance to the sustainable development of grassland resources. Therefore, this paper improves the BP neural network, uses the comprehensive index method to calculate the weights in the analytic hierarchy process, and constructs a water resources carrying capacity research and analysis system based on the entropy weight extension decision theory. Meanwhile, this paper analyzes different levels of resource and environmental carrying capacity to achieve the purpose of comprehensive evaluation of resource and environmental carrying capacity. In addition, based on the theory of sustainable development, under the guidance of the principle of index system construction, this paper studies the actual situation of grassland resources and the availability and operability of data, and combines with the opinions given by experts to form an evaluation index system of grassland resources and environmental carrying capacity. Finally, through the actual case study analysis, it is concluded that the model constructed in this paper has a certain effect.

The development of nature tourism in conservation areas such as in Taman Hutan Raya (Tahura) should be able to minimize the negative impact for the ecosystem. Tourism activities on the utilization block of Tahura must be limited by applying ecotourism concept which is concerned with environmental conservation and not the concept of mass tourism that is oriented on the number of visitors. Tahura K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunagoro I, every year has increased the number of tourist arrivals, most occur in 2016 and 2017 that is equal to 62.8% and 63.5%. This condition harmful the environment if it is not managed in a sustainable way that considers the carrying capacity of its environment. Therefore, a study was conducted to calculate the environmental carrying capacity in the utilization blocks of Tahura K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunagoro I using the method of calculating the physical carrying capacity (PCC), real carrying capacity (RCC) and effective carrying capacity (ECC) with the formula developed by Cifuentes (1992). The results of the calculation of environmental carrying capacity can be used as recommendation of the types of tourist activities that can be done, the arrangement of tourist visits, the type of facility that can be built in accordance with the rules of conservation and the number of officers required.
