The changing consumer behaviour all over the world has resulted in the shift of businesses into becoming client-centric. Clients nowadays want convenience, faster processes, seamless transactions, and instant service. The banking sector is not excused with these changes. In fact, bank clients want the same; bank services at the tip of their fingertips. So how should banks respond to these growing demands of clients? Involving technology in bank operations will ensure faster, more convenient, and more seamless transactions as this allows clients to access bank services anytime and anywhere. This study particularly paid attention to the digitization of mortgage banking using the UTAUT model to better understand its acceptability among its clients. The empirical results found that the determinants of behavioural intention to accept digital mortgage device among mortgage clients were facilitating conditions, performance expectancy and effort expectancy. Furthermore, results revealed that performance expectancy is directly related to internet time, frequency of product purchase using a mobile device and use of mobile banking.

The 21st-century learning demands for teachers to become a central agent in fostering various skills to students. Concurrently, teachers were also encouraged to utilize ICT in scaling up learning quality. In support of this initiative, this study introduced a crowdsourcing platform called Krumun.org developed specifically for Malaysian teachers. This exam-building crowdsourcing platform enables teachers to create, edit, and share assessment instruments. However, whether teachers will use the platform will depend on their acceptance of this new technology. Therefore, the main objective of the study is to determine teachers' acceptance factors in regards to the use of this crowdsourcing platform through the Unified Theory of Acceptance Use Technology (UTAUT) model. Questionnaires were distributed to 155 teachers who participated in Krumun.org trial launch. Partial least squares (PLS) was employed to analyze the research model through Smart-PLS 3. It is conclusive that performance expectancy (PE), self-efficacy (SE), and facilitating conditions (FC) affect behavioral intention to accept the crowdsourcing platform, Krumun.org. However, there was not enough evidence to support Effort Expectancy. Therefore, to increase the number of teachers utilizing this platform, these three factors should be prioritized. The findings of the study could also be of assistance to any related party that was planning to introduce new technology to teachers.

This study tries to propose a unified model integrating the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model, task–technology fit (TTF) model, and user satisfaction to investigate the determinants that affect university students’ continued intention of using massive open online courses (MOOCs). Based on the data of a survey on 464 respondents, structural equation modeling is adopted to assess the model. The results reveal that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and user satisfaction are the crucial predictors of university students’ continued intention. TTF has an indirect influence on continued intention through user satisfaction. Performance expectancy is affected both by effort expectancy and TTF. Facilitating conditions do not directly influence continued intention; however, they present indirect influences in that they play a mediating role for user satisfaction. The findings help researchers and practitioners to attain a better understanding of university students’ continued usage intention of MOOCs. The implications and limitations of this study are also described.

Aim/Purpose: This study examines the influence of Performance Expectancy (PE), Effort Expectancy (EE), and Facilitating Conditions (FC) on the use of smart phones for mobile learning by postgraduate students in University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Background: Due to the low level of mobile learning adoption by students in Nigeria, three base constructs of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model were used as factors to determine smart phone use for mobile learning by the postgraduate students in the University of Ibadan. Methodology: The study adopted a descriptive survey research design of the correlational type, the two-stage random sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 217 respondents, and a questionnaire was used to collect data. Descriptive statistics (frequency counts, percentages, mean, and standard deviation), test of norm, and inferential statistics (correlation and regression analysis) were used to analyze the data collected. Contribution: The study empirically validated the UTAUT model as a model useful in predicting smart phone use for mobile learning by postgraduate students in developing countries. Findings: The study revealed that a significant number of postgraduate students used their smart phones for mobile learning on a weekly basis. Findings also revealed a moderate level of Performance Expectancy (𝑥 =16.97), Effort Expectancy (𝑥 =12.57) and Facilitating Conditions (𝑥 =15.39) towards the use of smart phones for mobile learning. Results showed a significant positive relationship between all the independent variables and use of smart phones for mobile learning (PE, r=.527*; EE, r=.724*; and FCs, r=.514*). Out of the independent variables, PE was the strongest predictor of smart phone use for mobile learning (β =.189). Recommendations for Practitioners: Librarians in the university library should organize periodic workshops for postgraduate students in order to expose them to the various ways of using their smart phones to access electronic databases. Recommendation for Researchers: There is a need for extensive studies on the factors influencing mobile technologies adoption and use in learning in developing countries. Impact on Society: Nowadays, mobile learning is increasingly being adopted over conventional learning systems due to its numerous benefits. Augmented reality (AR) is one type of learning process that can be applied through mobile learning known as mobile augmented reality. AR offers an innovative learning space through an active interaction of superimposing digital contents into the real context to enhance learning experiences. Previous studies have found that AR in education is able to lead students to achieve higher levels of engagement in the learning process. In contrast, the potential of AR in education has not been explored intensively. Therefore, this article is to look into factors that might influence pre-service teachers' use behaviour of Mobile Augmented Reality Learning Cardiovascular (MARLCardio). A self-designed MARLCardio app has been used as an experimental instrument in collecting data. The influencing factors towards use behaviour of MARLCardio are performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions. This study is a part of an on-going research. In this study, a total of 75 respondents used MARLCardio app before answering a survey questionnaire. The respondents were pre-service teachers at one public university in Malaysia. All data from the questionnaire were analysed using multiple regression analysis. As a result of this investigation, findings showed that effort expectancy is the dominant factor in determining the use behaviour of MARLCardio. Interestingly, performance expectancy did not show any significant relationship. KEYWORDS: Augmented Reality, Mobile Augmented Reality, UTAUT Model, Technology Adoption Model, Use Behaviour

PurposeIn recent years, numerous banks have introduced live chat systems to their mobile banking (m-banking) applications to help customers address problems that arise while using m-banking. However, few researchers have investigated bank customers' perceptions of live chat in the context of m-banking, known as mobile chat. The present study attempts to fill this research gap and identify potential factors affecting bank customers' intention and attitude toward using mobile chat from the perspective of functional and expected advantages.Design/methodology/approachA research model was developed integrating three technological characteristics of mobile chat (mobility, reachability and convenience) identified from the mobile service and self-service technology literature with user beliefs involving performance expectancy, effort expectancy and facilitating conditions specified by the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology. The proposed model was evaluated using data collected from a field survey of 268 customers with experience in Internet or m-banking at an international bank in Taiwan. The mediating effects of attitude on the relationship between intention and its predictors were also measured.FindingsThe results suggest that reachability and convenience influence performance expectancy whereas effort expectancy is affected by all the technological characteristics. Additionally, customers' intention is determined by attitude, effort expectancy and facilitating conditions whereas their attitude depends on the three constructs of user beliefs.Research limitations/implicationsThe development of user behavioral research in intelligent customer engagement is lacking in the m-banking literature. This study sheds light on Internet banking and m-banking customers' viewpoints and the salient determinants of their intention and attitude toward using mobile chat. Therefore, the findings allow a broader understanding of customer engagement applications in the banking sector.Practical implicationsThe research findings would help banks not only better understand how to deploy useful mobile applications for improving the effectiveness of their mobile service development but also develop adequate mobile strategies to engage with customers more intelligently.Originality/valueThis research provides valuable insight into the relationship between the adoption of intelligent customer engagement tools and the improvement of customer support performance in the context of m-banking. Moreover, this study is among the first to identify the potential mobile technological factors that might affect bank customer expectations from mobile chat applications.

PurposeDespite the benefits of mobile banking services in an increasingly digitised world, adoption rates remain unsatisfactory. The present cross-national study examines age- and gender-dependent variations of consumer intentions and use of mobile banking services.Design/methodology/approachThe study analyses consumer mobile banking use by integrating factors such as with trust, security and privacy and it examines the effects of these factors among two demographic factors including age and gender. 897 Lebanese and British mobile banking users completed a survey. Data was analysed by partial least squares-structural equations modelling.FindingsConsumer behavioural intention was significantly moderated by age through its relationship with facilitating conditions and trust among Lebanese respondents, and performance expectancy, effort expectancy, hedonic motivation, price value and habit among their British counterparts. As for gender, a significant moderating effect was evidenced in the Lebanese, but not the British sample, on the level of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, price value and perceived security.Originality/valueThe findings provide evidence of the applicability of the new factors proposed in this research. The reflection of the influence of these demographic factors in a cross-national context provides insights into mobile banking adoption variation between different countries.

The primary goal of this study is to explore what makes teachers accept Google Classroom (GCR). GCR platform is an emerging technology that could support online learning activities by offering outstanding benefits such as usability, flexibility, and task adaptability. Many of the students in Indonesia have al-ready used the GCR platform since the government has tried to provide it as a free online learning tool to support learning activities during the pandemic. However, there is limited understanding of users' behavior, especially Indonesian students' acceptance of the GCR platform. The model is tested by administering the online questionnaire to 261 university students in Indonesia. The extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology Model (UTAUT) model has been applied to observe users’ acceptance of GCR. The result Performance expectancy (PE), Effort expectancy (EE) Social Influence (SI), Facilitating Conditions (FC), Trust of Internet (TI) and Trust of Government (TG) considerably affected users’ intention to use the GCR. Moreover, Trust of Internet (TI) and Trust of Government (TG) also knowingly impacted Performance expectancy (PE).
