scholarly journals Generation of an E-learning Application Through Model Programming

Online learning or e-learning is a growing industry, whose beginnings date back to the 1980s and even before. The model of learning in history has always been quite simple. Until the early 2000s, education took place in a class of students with a teacher leading the class. The physical presence was not in question, and any other type of learning was, at best, questionable. Then the Internet appeared, and the rest is part of the story. On the other hand, the development of computer applications to ensure this type of education is also growing, but the problem is that each application is developed according to a given technology. Developing an e-learning application for each technology requires a lot of human resources and technical knowledge and always requires a migration of each application developed to other implementation platforms as needed. the model-driven architecture approach offers full or partial development of an e-learning application while remaining independent of the implementation platform of this application. Therefore, to solve this problem we propose a development of an e-learning application according to a model-driven architecture approach.

Online learning is a learning via internet without meeting face-to-face between teachers and students. This online learning system is relatively new, therefore teachers and students should adapt quickly. This study aims to determine the online Arabic learning system during the COVID-19 pandemic at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 1 Surakarta. Researcher used a qualitative approach and observation, interview, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results described that e-learning madrasah was used as the main media for online Arabic learning at MTsN 1 Surakarta during the covid-19 pandemic, then assisted by Whatsapp and Youtube channel. The subject matter was presented in video, powerpoint, and pdf. The learning stages were divided into three: preparation, implementation (pre-activities, whilst-activities and post-activities), and evaluation stage. This online learning helps teachers to coordinate with and supervise students easily, on the other hand, it is difficult for them to monitor the students’ understanding and bad internet network make some students could not follow the learning process in time.

Online learning, which was defined as a learning environment using computer communication systems for learning delivery and interaction (Harasim, 1990), has been involved into all facets of society’s education. Online learning can be considered as a subset of the category of e-learning because it refers specifically to learning that is occurring via the Internet or Intranet. Online learning environment normally refers to learning via electronic communications, coursework, and/or information posted on the Web, and through other instructional activities by using Internet.

It has often been suggested that education via the Internet, or e-learning, leads to a sense of separation in individual learners; this need not be the case. Teaching is a relationship: a relationship that is built on a connection between teaching and learner, between learner and learner, and between the learners and the content. What then is the role of the instructor in moderating online learning? This paper will explore how that connection might be better made in an online environment and will explore the interpersonal or emotive distinctiveness needed in an e-moderator from the perspective of a group of graduate students engaged in an online master of education degree offered in Canada.

So Network Marketing has become increasingly used method in order to ehance the small and large logistic companies performance. Multi-level marketing is a marketingapproach that motivates its participants to promote a certain product among their friends. The popularity of this approach increases due to the accessibility of modern social networks, however, it existed in one form or the other long before the Internet age began (the infamous Pyramid scheme that dates back at least a century is in fact a special case of multi-level marketing). The India Direct Selling Association (IDSA) has projected that the network marketing industry will be around Rs 9000 crores by 2013 end.The purpose of this paper is to provide better understanding of how Network Marketing is used as Marketing strategy andtool to develop logistic companies business in new millennium. The idea is to seek roots in localised practices in rapidly unfolding globalisation and thus paving the way for ―globalisation‖.

The purpose of this study is to identify the patterns of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, in adverse economic circumstances, so as to understand the importance ascribed by the companies to each of their stakeholders. Prior research on stakeholder salience has looked into various issues related to the relative attention given to corporate stakeholders by management, however, none has examined what this relationship looks like following a prolonged economic crisis. We investigate the activities of CSR in Greece, examining how companies spend their CSR resources in a depressed economy, studying the respective activity patterns of the companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE). Content analysis is used, thoroughly examining all public data available on the internet from 175 companies. The study includes data reported in 2014, collected at the end of 2015. Our results demonstrate that, the most popular CSR activities related to the human resources and the least practiced were the society and environment related ones. The findings show concern for the employees of the companies and their morale, superseding the interest for the other stakeholder categories in spite of the crisis and the soaring unemployment rate. Moreover, a significant divergence emerged between the CSR programs of the various industries. This indicates that for reasons unbeknownst to us, companies are placing less emphasis on consumers, environment and the society and tend to cater to the needs of their internal constituents.

The importance of incorporating an ethical perspective in the development of digital competence is discussed. It is argued that an ethical perspective that emphasise mutual understanding as a possible conception of democracy, is of importance in the light of the current global e-learning trend, especially when it comes to designing e-learning ventures as online learning communities.

Background: Nowadays, the internet revolutionized the way people communicate. The research was no longer limited within libraries, individuals can now obtain any information with a click of a button. With the Covid-19 and the lockdown, the Lebanese educational institutions shifted to Online Learning. Aim: The purpose of the study is to evaluate the success of online learning implementation at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and the students’ satisfaction with online courses. Material and Method: A cross-sectional observational study is performed. An online survey is sent to 165 students of the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the Lebanese University. They answered a questionnaire prepared and adapted to the context of the study. Data was collected and analyzed using the SPSS 21.0, Inc., Chicago, IL, USA version. Results: The results are statistically significant (p< 0.0001). The majority of students who did not give essential importance to the instructor’s physical presence (# 106), considered the E-learning method (# 97). The number of students who exclusively prefer in-class courses (#71) corresponds with the number of those who find the instructor's physical presence crucial (#59). For 159 students, surrounding noises during confinement did not disturb them. The majority of the students (#153) did not encounter serious internet cuts and 24 of them weren’t enthusiastic about E-learning. Conclusion: Despite the pandemic, socioeconomic, geographic, and educational difficulties, our results showed that the majority of the students in the Lebanese University, Faculty of Dental Medicine, embraced the rapid transition to E-learning classes. Implementing the online learning mode did not influence participants’ satisfaction towards education.

E-learning is increasingly forming an integral part of course delivery and instruction, and is reshaping traditional learning world wide. </span></p> <p><span>This paper outlines the shift from traditional learning to online learning practices. Then it discusses the use of technology, particularly the Internet, to support and enhance effective learning based on the principles of engagement theory. It considers relevant studies within the context of technology based learning, and highlights important experiences and findings. The paper indicates that technology based pedagogy and an effective online learning environment are crucial to support and enrich effective learning outcomes. The paper considers implications for South African higher education in the 21st century. Integrating the Internet as part of a curriculum is proposed, to instil our learners with lifelong skills.</span></p></div></div></div>

<p>This research investigates organisational readiness for implementing organisational elearning systems (OES) in the Forestry Research and Development Agency (FORDA) of Indonesia. The study measures the level of organisational readiness for OES implementation at FORDA; and determines factors that need to be addressed in order to implement successful OES at FORDA, in a context with no prior OES knowledge. A mixed-methods approach was employed in this study. A cross-sectional survey was delivered in two forms: online and paper-based. The survey sample consisted of 288 employees of FORDA (policy makers, researchers, research assistants, and general employees). Statistical measures - reliability analysis, factor analysis, and multiple regression - were conducted using SPSS version 16.0. As a complementary method, 12 semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 policy makers at FORDA. A comprehensive organisational e-learning readiness instrument (COERI) was developed to assess the level of organisational readiness for OES from the perspective of all target respondents (policy makers, e-learning providers, facilitators, and learners). The study proposes twelve readiness dimensions: technological skills; positive online learning style; negative online learning style; equipment/infrastructure; attitude; human resources; environmental; positive cultural; negative cultural; financial affordability; financial availability; and financial possibility.  Overall, to implement successful OES at FORDA the results show that only five areas are ready but need a few improvements (equipment/infrastructure, attitude, environment, positive online culture, and financial availability); five areas are not ready of which three areas need some improvements (technological skills, positive online learning style, and human resources), and two areas need major improvements (financial affordability and financial possibility). Factors that affect organisational readiness and need to be developed further in order to implement successful OES are: personal characteristics (age, education, gender, and computer experience), Internet access, central support, finance, environment, face-to-face contact, human resources capacity, English proficiency, and prior e-learning knowledge. Further exploration is required to achieve a more reliable instrument and to improve the applicability of COERI to similar research contexts.</p>

Introduction: Although, several factors have been identified as significant determinants in online learning, the human interactions with those factors and their effect on academic achievement are not fully elucidated. This study aims to determine the effect of self-regulated learning (SRL) on achievement in online learning through exploring the relations and interaction of the conception of learning, online discussion, and the e-learning experience. Methods: A non-probability convenience sample of 128 learners in the Health Professions Education program through online learning filled-out three self-reported questionnaires to assess SRL strategies, the conception of learning, the quality of e-Learning experience and online discussion. A scoring rubric was used to assess the online discussion contributions. A path analysis model was developed to examine the effect of self-regulated learning on achievement in online learning through exploring the relations and interaction among the other factors. Results: Path analysis showed that SRL has a statistically significant relationship with the quality of e-learning experience, and the conception of learning. On the other hand, there was no correlation with academic achievement and online discussion. However, academic achievement did show a correlation with online discussion. Conclusion: The study showed a dynamic interaction between the students’ beliefs and the surrounding environment that can significantly and directly affect their behaviour in online learning. Moreover, online discussion is an essential activity in online learning.
