In today’s world, due to the fast growth in number of motor vehicles and industrial evolution, the environment around us is more polluted. The pollution majorly affects the quality of air and causes the major health issues to living beings. The major reason for atmosphere contamination is due to releasing of harmful gases like carbon di-oxide, carbon monoxide etc. from factories, vehicles and from combustion of fossil fuels. It is necessary to monitor the percentage of pollutant present in the air which will leads to environmental issues. To overcome this, we have designed a tool using IoT technology. The air pollution monitoring tool includes Microcontroller and Sensors that provides the provision to monitor the quality of air by detecting the harmful gases present in the atmosphere. The pollution level can be monitored remotely using PC or smart phones. The data is store in cloud and can be accessed remotely.

In the present day scenario, pollution caused by humans affects all the parameters of the environment (air, water, soil and sound). Air pollution is becoming a major concern in urban areas can expose the people to health issues like asthma attacks, lung problems, heart diseases etc. In this paper, two different methods are studied in monitoring the air quality of an environment. The first method involves usage of AWS cloud with a microcontroller and sensor. The second method uses Arduino along with Wi- Fi module and a sensor for measuring the level of pollutants and monitoring the air quality of a given environment.

In the present work, a database system of air pollution monitoring is developed using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system aims to give structural information and trace of air pollution level at particular monitoring station. The particular monitoring location (node) is connected to IoT/M2M server via GSM network using GPRS feature and display on IoT/M2M application in web form. The database on IoT/M2M contains name, description, and location of the monitoring station, Pollution index and the time when the data are taken. On IoT/M2M, the data are displayed either in a color bar graph or a line graph. The color indicated the index value of the pollution. The data can be accessed via internet on isfuonline.info. The system is tested at laboratory environment to detect CO, SO2, NO2, O3, and PM. The test result shows that the system is worked well. Time required to transfer the monitoring data to the IoT server is about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, response time of the system is 30 minutes.

Humankind, moving to a period centered upon improvement has overlooked the significance of supportability and has been the real guilty party behind the rising Pollution levels in the world's air among all other living life forms. The Pollution levels at certain spots have come to such high degrees that they have begun hurting our very own It will being. An IoT based Air Pollution observing framework incorporates a MQ Series sensor interfaced to a Node MCU outfitted with an ESP8266 WLAN connector to send the sensor perusing to a Thing Speak cloud. Further extent of this work incorporates an appropriate AI model to foresee the air Pollution level and an anticipating model, which is fundamentally a subset of prescient displaying. As age of poisonous gases from ventures, vehicles and different sources is immensely expanding step by step, it winds up hard to control the dangerous gases from dirtying the unadulterated air. In this paper a practical air Pollution observing framework is proposed. This framework can be utilized for observing Pollutions in demeanor of specific territory and to discover the air peculiarity or property examination. The obligated framework will concentrate on the checking of air poisons concentrate with the assistance of mix of Internet of things with wireless sensor systems. The investigation of air quality should be possible by figuring air quality index (AQI)

Environmental Air Pollution Monitoring System is used for monitoring the concentrations of major air pollutants using gas sensors. The main target of this project is to monitor the air quality using sensors and analyze the existing trends in air pollution and make prediction about future. The major objective is to inform the public about the quality of air, raise the awareness and also to develop warning systems for the prevention of undesired air pollution episodes and to create awareness in order to reduce the amount of air pollution caused due to various sources. The system is also used to get the approximate quantity of pollutants present in air thereby giving awareness to the people of that specific region. “Air Pollution is the major problem that we are facing now-a-days. Controlling air pollution in an area is becoming difficult and many people are facing a lot of health issues due to this increased pollution rates in the country. The increased amount of carbon monoxide (CO), smoke, carbon dioxide (CO2) have lead a severe impact on the human life. The growing number of vehicles and industries contributes to air pollution to a greater extent. This paper presents a model which helps in monitoring the air pollution through the use of internet of things (IoT) platform. Implementing it with sensors and arduino which will help the user to know about the temperature and the humidity level on the smart phone and accordingly the user can take preventive measures. Also the system detects air quality and if the amount of pollutants increased.”

In today’s world, the temperature of the environment is gradually rising. One of the main reasons for it is decreasing the quality of air mainly caused due to air pollution. There are many harmful substances present in the environment that is the cause of the declining quality of air. These pollutants get mixed along with the air and pollute the environment. The two air pollutants are considered here, CO2 and NO, to reduce air pollution, there is a need to know the number of pollutants, with the help of sensors in this experiment the level of pollutants are to be monitored and based on that a prediction mechanism is developed to determine the level of pollutants in the future. There are some machine learning concepts involved, K means clustering for classification of pollutants along with the S.V.M. (Support Vector Machine). With the successful prediction of the level of pollutants, the necessary counter measures can be adaopted.

Air Pollution is growing rapidly and it has become a major concern in every part of the world. It leads to health problems of the entire population. This demands the requirement of Air pollution monitoring system. An IOT based Air pollution monitoring system is developed which monitors air quality and environmental parameters such as Temperature and Humidity over a web server using internet. The concept of IOT helps to access data from any part of the globe. Sensors are used to monitor the harmful gases. The presence of harmful gases above a particular limit can lead to severe health issues and accidents. A threshold is set for pertinent sensors from which we can acknowledge the rise in the gas levels. An email is sent to the respective users when the values exceed the threshold as an alert.
