Environmental issues such as global warming, acid rain, air pollution, and waste disposal have been debating on various platforms. Over the last few decades, the exploitation and degradation of the environment and degradation have gone up at an alarming rate. These issues are not influencing the environment, but it is also impacted the green industries (i.e. supply chain management, manufacturing operation, and production) and educational system (i.e. teaching strategies, graduates, and skills). Government plays an important role in order to ensure the impact of the environmental issue can be controlled. One of the strategies is by improving the policies. In this paper, we aimed to explore and discover the other factors regard the environmental policies that potential influences the green industries and job opportunities. A qualitative research design was conducted by using pencil and paper interviewing approach. Six experts were selected from the company, which have been applying the green concept among their organization. From the interview session, a possible factor such as skill and training practices for layman workers is found.

This paper explores on how Tamang children achieve elementary education along with their socioeconomic conditions. This study tries to assess the impact of living condition, home and surrounding environment, parental education, and economic condition of the family on elementary education of Tamang children of Dhankuta district, aged 6-14 of. Data were collected from 15 households, purposively selected, through interview and observation, and the thematic analysis was done employing qualitative research design. It was found that, of the total 18 children,27.27% were non-enrolled, 24.14% drop-outs while 48.56% were continuing formal education. It was also found that the economic factors (poverty), family size, and home condition were the major struggle of the Tamang children in achieving elementary education. To combat with these issues income generation and poverty alleviation programs should be properly implemented; more job opportunities and shelters for the shelterless families are to be provided at low and affordable prices; and teachers and school authorities should make the parents aware about the importance of sending children regularly to school.

The disposal of industrial and mineral processing residues represents a major concern for human health and the environment as a whole. In order to reduce the impact on soil and groundwater due to the waste leachability, the implementation of environmental regulations worldwide has favored the conversion of the disposal techniques from wet to dry (i.e., dry stacking or dry disposal). Such a change in the storage practice may cause the increase of particulate matter (PM) emission from the dry surfaces of the tailings exposed to wind erosion. Considering the significance of the environmental issue on a global scale and the increasingly stricter orientation of environmental policies, the need for modeling tools capable of estimating the contribution of tailing basins to air pollution becomes apparent. The paper deals with the disposal of red mud resulting from the bauxite processing in the alumina industry. An experimental research was carried with an environmental wind tunnel to estimate the Emission Factor (EF) of the basin surfaces as a function of the main affecting variables (i.e., residue water content and wind velocity). The article reports the results of the experimental test carried out on the red mud from a major basin located in Sardinia (Italy).

<p>The issue of unemployment has bedeviled the development of many countries especially when the youths who are trained in various skills of human endeavor find it difficult in getting job opportunities. This research work has focused on the impact of unemployment with specific attention to Nigeria. The country over the years from 2009 to date witnessed a series of attacks by the Boko Haram terrorist group whose membership mostly are the youths. The main objective of this research is to examine the impact of unemployment as it causes psychological trauma, frustration and aggression thereby resulting to a state of insecurity. The work made use of qualitative research design through the conduct of interviews. The work also made use of other sources such as journal publications and internet sources. The findings drawn from this research reveal that some of the youths who engage in terrorist attacks against the Nigerian state are unemployed while some could be due to poverty and illiteracy. The issues raised could cause psychological trauma to the victims especially those whose relatives lost their lives as well as those who are internally displaced. The work, therefore, recommends a new public policy framework as a strategy in resolving the conflict in order to sustain peace and security of the country.   </p>


Knowledge, technical skills, and generic skills are quite a synonym in TVET curriculum, but apart from that, the industries are starting look for the manpower with competent in green skills. Besides, the green skills an alternative way to cultivate awareness on environmental and to protect and conserve the environment from climate change and pollution in order to stimulate sustainable development. This article aimed at exploring out the impact of the environmental policies on job opportunities; the domains and elements of green skills which required in green industries; the mismatch of domains and elements green skills between industries and institutions; and the green skills framework for TVET curricula. An exploratory sequential design is used in this study which consists of two-phases. Respectively, the first phase 11 experts in environmental aspect or green practice involve in order to get the consensus and Delphi technique apply, and 200 TVET academicians involve in the second phase. The data from this study is useful in order to reduce knowledge gaps and as the tools in order to revise the existing curricula framework due to the change of skill requirements.

Echoing the anti-pollution and resource conservation campaigns in the United States in the early-to-mid-twentieth century, some scholars advocate mobilising support for environmental issues by harnessing the notion of environmental patriotism. Taking action to reduce the impact of global warming has also been cast as a patriotic cause. Drawing upon quantitative data from a recent national survey, we examine the link between patriotism and environmental attitudes in Australia, focussing upon climate change. We find that patriotism has a largely neutral association with concern over environmental issues, with the exception of climate change and, to a lesser extent, wildlife preservation. Expressing concern over climate change appears to be unpatriotic for some Australians. Even after controlling for political party identification and other important correlates of environmental issue concerns, patriots are less likely than others to prioritise climate change as their most urgent environmental issue and less likely to believe that climate change is actually occurring.

Obtaining dietetic licensure in Ontario requires completion of a Dietitians of Canada (DC) accredited four-year undergraduate degree in nutrition and an accredited post-graduate internship or combined Master’s degree program. Given the scarcity of internship positions in Ontario, each year approximately two-thirds of the eligible applicants who apply do not receive a position XX, XX, XX, XX, XX, XX, in press). Anecdotally, not securing an internship position is known to be a particularly disconcerting experience that has significant consequences for individuals’ personal, financial, and professional well-being. However, no known empirical research has yet explored students’ experiences of being unsuccessful in applying for internship positions. Fifteen individuals who applied between 2005 and 2009 to an Ontario-based dietetic internship program, but were unsuccessful at least once, participated in a one-on-one semi-structured interview. Findings reveal that participants’ experiences unfold successively in four phases that are characterized by increasingly heightened emotional peril: naïveté, competition, devastation, and frustration. The authors conclude that the current model of dietetic education and training in Ontario causes lasting distress to students and hinders the future growth and vitality of the dietetic profession. Further research is required to understand the impact of the current model on dietetic educators, internship coordinators, and preceptors as coincident participants in the internship application process.

Quality outcomes from vocational education and training (VET) are fundamental to ensuring a skilled workforce and supporting a productive economy. The quality of vocational training from the demand’s perspective is defined as meeting the customer specification, needs or requirements. Using the method of Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Multiple Regression Analysis to get the analytical results of 275 respondents as graduates of University of Transport and Communication, University of Transport Technology (the two universities training on transportation in the North of Vietnam), the results show that factors are measured by the observed variables in the study that ensure reliability and relevance. The descriptive statistics result of vocational training quality is 3.28, while all independent variables are at average level (between 3.1 to 3.48) with the highest value related to the quality of the teacher and the lowest are facilities and training programs and management capacity of university. However, the regression results show that the qualification of the teacher, material facilities and training program, management capacity and job opportunities at the training school do not affect the quality of the training while “Learners-NH” have a great positive effect and the labor market information has a negative effect on the training quality of the school significantly. Base on those data, some policy recommendations have been given out in order to improve the training quality of transport technology universities in the north of Vietnam in particular and the vocational training quality of Vietnam in general.

This article is based on a study of gender-based violence against women with disabilities. The study sought to examine the factors that make such women vulnerable, to investigate the community’s responses to gender-based violence against women with disabilities, and to determine the impact of gender-based violence on the wellbeing and health of women with disabilities. The study adopted a qualitative research design so as to arrive at an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon under study. The study sample consisted of 48 disabled women living in marital or common law unions, selected using purposive sampling. Of the 48 women in the sample, 16 were visually impaired while the remaining 32 had other physical disabilities. Focus group discussions were used for data collection. The data were analysed using the thematic approach. The finding was that women with disabilities also experience gender-based violence. The study makes recommendations whose thrust is to change community perceptions on disability as the only guarantee towards eradicating gender-based violence against women with disabilities.

This paper assessed the impact of the mechanization of the 8 tribal paddy farmers’ groups of Goa benefited in the year 2011 through the Tribal sub-plan program of ICAR-CCARI through results of surveys conducted in 2012 and 2015. Shift to mechanization among beneficiaries was significant in power tillers (64-100%) but less in power reapers(0-91%). Also significant saving in manpower (Power tillers:33.3% to 60%, power reapers: 33.3% to 83.3%), , time (field capacity increased (power tillers : 41.7% to141%, power reapers :58.1% to 912.8%) and cost(power tillers :44.7% to 59.1%, power reapers : 57.8% to 82.9%) was reportedthrough the use of equipment as compared to desi plough or manual methods of harvesting. Some constraints like lack of access roads and training in use and maintenance of the equipment were reported by the beneficiary farmers.
