To ensure company stability in running a business, the management team of the company must be aware of risks that could arise under various condition. These risks should be identified and mitigated as early as possible, before its effect the company. No matter what resource its affected, either core or support resource risks must be mitigated to avoid loss and damage to the company. Data Centre is one of the core resources of a company; it keeps the company information and used daily in the company. If by any causes, the data center could not be accessed or function; normally, it would cause a great loss to the company. This paper discussed the used of Facilitated Risk Analysis and Assessment Process (FRAAP) technique to list and mitigate risk to the company data center. There are four steps of FRAAP technique used in this paper: creating risk description list, creating a risk sensitivity profile, creating risk exposure rating, and creating mitigating control list. The used of FRAAP technique, resulted in identification of two type of risk which are confidentiality and availability. The mitigation plan in this paper, cover the steps planned to mitigated risk resulted from information leak (Confidentiality); ex. hacking, virus, Etc. and natural disaster (Availability); ex. Flood, earthquake, fire, Etc. These planned mitigation steps are divided into three lists, which are: Risks response, Emergency Response Steps, Recovery steps, and restoration steps of the company data center.

Hazardous materials (hazmat) storage and transportation pose threats to people’s safety and the environment, which creates a need for governments and local authorities to regulate such shipments. This paper proposes a novel mathematical model for what is termed the hazmat closed-loop supply chain network design problem. The model, which can be viewed as a way to combine several directions previously considered in the literature, includes two echelons in the forward direction (production and distribution centers), three echelons in the backward direction (collection, recovery, and disposal centers), and emergency response team positioning. The two objectives of minimizing the strategic, tactical, and operational costs as well as the risk exposure on road networks are considered in this model. Since the forward flow of hazmat is directly related to the reverse flow, and since hazmat accidents can occur at all stages of the lifecycle (storage, shipment, loading, and unloading, etc.), it is argued that such a unified framework is essential. A robust framework is also presented to hedge the optimization model in case of demand and return uncertainty. The performance of both models is evaluated based on a standard dataset from Albany, NY. Considering the trade-offs between cost and risk, the results demonstrate the design of efficient hazmat closed-loop supply chain networks where the risk exposure can be reduced significantly by employing the proposed models.

The case centers on Shilling & Smith's acquisition of Xteria Inc. and the resulting need to quickly scale the company's IT infrastructure to accommodate the acquisition. The case is based on a real leasing problem faced by a major retail firm in the Chicago area when it purchased a small credit card processing firm and scaled the operations to handle the retail firm's credit card transactions. The CIO of Shilling & Smith needs to determine which lease option is the best means of providing the technical infrastructure needed to support the firm after the acquisition of Xteria. Several issues will drive this decision, including the value and useful life of the equipment, as well as the strategic context of the firm. This case examines how to evaluate different lease options when acquiring data center information technology infrastructure. Specifically, the case addresses software vs. hardware leasing, different lease terms, and choosing between different lease structures depending on the strategy and needs of a company. This case enables students to understand the different types of technology leases and in which situations these leases would be employed. The Shilling & Smith case examines how to evaluate different lease options when acquiring data center information technology infrastructure. Specifically, students learn software vs. hardware leasing, different lease terms, and how to choose between different lease structures depending on the strategy and needs of the company. A secondary objective of the case is to teach students the important components and relative costs of information technology infrastructure.

Arc fault is one of main cause of fires which bring great loss and damage every year. Researchers show that the conventional circuit breakers probably fail to interrupt the circuit when an arc fault occurs. So, it is very important and necessary to find a new way to detect the arc fault. This thesis focuses on discussing the special characters of parallel arc faults, which are the main cause of fires. In this paper, not only the data of parallel faults, but also the normal working data of different apparatus are obtained. Two significant characters will be described and they will be the key criterions to detect the appearance of parallel arc faults. At last, we test the correctness of this method and get good results.

This paper deals with a study on a method to support the decision on entering business areas in a business model consisting of manufacturing and service. This method divides the business model into business areas by the functions that support a company to decide whether it should enter business areas. This method prioritizes the areas from the aspects of profit opportunities, barriers to entry, and interactions between the areas. This method reduces the time to decide which business area to enter and reduces the number of examination objects to the number of business areas (n) or fewer from the total number of possible combinations (2 to the 2nd power n). To confirm the efficiency of this method, we demonstrated two case studies in the IT services industry. In the first case study, from the perspective of a UPS battery supplier, the number of examination objects is 3 when the number of business areas is 11. And the first case study indicates that a suitable strategy for a battery supplier is to concentrate on the strategy of supplying batteries. In the second case study, from the perspective of an IT service provider, the number of examination objects is 10 when the number of business areas is 11. The second case study indicates that a suitable strategy for an IT service provider is vertical integration from software development to data center operation and hardware manufacturing.

In the development of the world of work, a reward is an important factor to improve the quality of human resources as well as an appreciation for those with enhancement. Therefore, a company should be careful in performing its assessment. Thus, a decision support system application is required to assist a company in performing the assessment process. Accordingly, the decision-making process uses the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. Results of the system functionality can run 100% well and as needed, and the result of the system accuracy test are 100%. This indicates that a decision support system can function properly with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. Keywords: Reward, Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), Decision Support System

Transportation networks are one of several critical infrastructures on which first responders rely in order to deliver emergency services. However, there is no guarantee that a transportation network will be fully operational following a regional event, such as a hurricane or earthquake. Emergency planning and response tools should explicitly integrate this possibility to ensure the completeness of the risk assessment process. This paper considers the elevated vulnerability to which a community is exposed when disruptions in a transportation network slow emergency response. An average weighted vulnerability metric is defined to favor a network restoration strategy that quickly reduces emergency response times to their nominal levels. This metric is incorporated into an algorithm to prioritize network restoration, so that individuals who might require assistance are not exposed to prolonged periods of lengthy response times. The formulation considers a number of types of emergency response facilities and different types of hazard; the hazards can require a response from more than one type of facility. The utility of the approach is illustrated through a series of examples. Our results demonstrate that the approach can offer systematic guidance to reduce emergency response times after a partial or complete outage of a transportation network.

Employees are one important factor of a company. That's because many employees play a role in every activity of a company. Therefore, companies must carry out employee evaluation processes to be able to maintain and mature employee performance. In general, the employee assessment process requires a long time and the results obtained are not necessarily accurate. That is because there are many elements that must be assessed and also the calculation process is still done manually. These elements include work performance, honesty, cooperation, obedience, and loyalty. Based on the problem, a decision support system was created that could simplify and speed up the employee evaluation process. The method used is SAW and TOPSIS which can help to provide accurate results because both methods are suitable for processing data with many criteria or elements. To test the system that has been made, the authors conducted the activity of giving a questionnaire conducted or filled out by 15 users. Based on the results of testing and questionnaires that have been distributed and filled out by users, it was found that around 92% of respondents stated that they were very satisfied with the system as a whole. Then based on the data, this decision support system functions well and is beneficial for users because it helps and facilitates the company in the employee appraisal process and also helps employees know their potential.
