ABSTRACT    Starved was one effort that can reduce the feed consumption and feed residues without decreasing growth of cultured fish. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of starved periodically to the specific growth rate and feed efficiency of tilapia reared in the pond. The research had been conducted in Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya Unversity on April – Juni 2016. This research method used Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and three replications that was every day feed without starvation (P0), one day feed one day starvation (P1), two days feed one day starvation (P2) and three days feed one day starvation (P3). Parameters of this research are specific growth rate, feed efficiency, survival rate and water quality (temperature, pH, DO, ammonia). The result showed that starved periodically significantly effect to the growth rate and feed efficiency of cultured tilapia in the pond. Treatment P1 (one day feed one day starvation) gave highest specific weight growth rate and specific length growth rate which were 2.32%.day-1 and 1.27%.day-1 then feed efficiency was 84.46%. The highest survival rate occurred in treatment P1 (one day feed one day starvation) 82%. Water quality of this research were temperature 27.0-31.5 oC,  pH 6.8-7.9, dissolved  oxygen 4.53-7.23 mg.L-1, and ammonia 0.01-0.30 mg.L-1. Keywords : Feed Efficiency, Specific growth rate, Starved, , Tilapia.

Catfish (Clarias sp.) is a freshwater fish that is widely cultivated because it is a leading commodity. Increased production of catfish resulted in extra area of cultivated land and water use. The technology suitable to be applied is aquaponic system. In addition to saving land and water use, Aquaponic is also improving business efficiency through the utilization of nutrients from food remains and fish metabolism. Water quality is an important factor for the success of cultivation. Maintenance catfish with the addition of probiotics in aquaponic system can be a solution for maintaining water quality, because it contains bacteria that can increase nitrite to nitrate changes that can be utilized for growth of plants and do not poison the fish. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different probiotics in the aquaponic system towards growth rate and survival rate of catfish. The method that used in this research is experimental with completely randomized design (four  treat and five repeated) are P0 (control), P1 (probiotic A), P2 (probiotic B) and P3 (probiotic C). Analysis of data processed using Analysis of Variance. If there are significant differences then continued Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the giving of probiotics in the aquaponic system is significantly different (p <0.05). The final conclusion is that the addition of probiotics in  aquaponic system affect the growth rate and survival rate of catfish. The highest specific growth rate (0.025%/ day) and the highest survival rate (77.8%) contained in the P2 treatment. The lowest specific growth rate (0.019% /day) and the lowest survival rate (64.4%) contained in P0 treatment (control). Keywords : Aquaponic, Catfish, Probiotic, Growth Rate, Survival Rate, Clarias sp.

This research was conducted to determine the effect of giving different lime on the survival rate and growth of snack head seeds. This writing uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The hypothesis being tested was that the application of the limed lime had no significant effect on survival rate, the growth of snack head seed and the specific growth rate and lime administration differed significantly in feed conversion. The study was conducted at the Wet Aquaculture Laboratory, Palangka Raya University starting from February 3 - March 3, 2020. The results showed that the administration of different lime had no significant effect on survival rate, growth and specific growth rates but had a significant effect on feed conversion. The best survival rate of snack head seeds is in treatment D (250 g) that is equal to 57.73%, the best weight growth is in treatment C (200 G) that is equal to 3.16 grams, the best length growth is in treatment D (250 g) that is 2.57 cm, the best specific growth rate is in treatment D (250 g) which is 2.92% / day, and the best feed conversion value is in treatment D (250 g) which is 1.47%. Water quality such as temperature, acidity (pH) and dissolved oxygen (DO) are still in the normal range.

In intensive aquaculture farming activities will generate solid waste and liquid waste that comes from feces and leftover fish feed. The waste accumulation can lead to deterioration of water quality that affects the physiological processes, behavior, growth, and mortality of fish. Technological innovation is needed for the management of water quality and increase productivity as a result of shrinkage of cultivated land. One of the technological innovations that can be applied, namely the incorporation of fish farming with crops through Aquaponics system. This study aims to determine the effects of water spinach optimum density to absorb waste ammonia (NH3), nitrate (NO3) and nitrite (NO2) optimally to increase the survival rate and growth rate of african catfish (Clarias sp.) intensive As well as to see its effect on conversion rates and feed efficiency with aquaponics system. The method used is the experimental method. The experimental research is used to determine the effect of certain variable towards a group under controlled conditions. The results of measurements of ammonia levels during P0 showed that the treatment significantly different (p <0.05) with treatment P1; P2; and P3. P3 treatment with water spinach number 40 stems provide maximum results in lowering the concentration of ammonia compared with treatment P0 (without spinach), P1 (20 water spinach), and P2 (30 water spinach). The measurement results nitrite levels during the observation showed that all treatments there were no significant differences (p> 0.05). The measurement results also showed that the nitrate content whole of observation results showed that all treatments there were no significant differences (p> 0.05). The best feed conversion ratio was found in P3 treatment of 1.08. The best feed efficiency was found in P3 treatment 92,25%. The highest survival rate was found in P3 treatment (88.69%) in maintenance medium and lowest survival rate was in P0 treatment (26,71%) without water spinach  (control). The highest specific growth rate was found in P3 treatment (1.15%), while the lowest specific growth rate was in treatment P0 (0.79%).Results of water quality measurement supporting all treatments decreased and increased. The supporting water quality are temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen. The decrease and increase in support water quality is caused by environmental factors such as weather. Other parameters were observed in addition to supporting the water quality is water spinach plant growth. Value growth water spinach is best found in treatment P3. In the treatment P3 water spinach growth rose 5.14 cm with an initial size of 10.92 into 16.06.

This research was conducted from 15 June - 27 July 2019 in the Regional Technical Implementation Unit of The Seawater and Brackish Aquaculture. (UPTD BPBALP Teluk Buo), West Sumatra. This study aim to determine the best of viterna multivitamin right on the growth and the survival of grouper fish (Cromileptis altivelis) seed. The method used in this study was an experimental method using a complete randomized design (RAL) with 4 treatments (A: 0 ml / kg of feed, B: 10 ml / kg of feed, C: 15 ml / kg of feed and D: 20 ml / kg of feed). Parameters in this research are absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, specific growth rate and survival rate. The results of this research are to find out the best viterna multivitamin dose for absolute weight growth was 10 ml / kg of feed, absolute length growth was 10 ml / kg of feed, the specific growth rate was 10 ml / kg of feed and survival rate was 100% of all treatments.

Eel (Anguilla bicolor) is an Indonesian freshwater commodity that has high economic value but has slow growth. One method to accelerate eel growth is through feeding with the enrichment of essential fatty acids. The aim of this research is to know the increase of growth rate of eel fish fed with the enrichment of essential fatty acids with fish oil and corn oil. The study used 3 treatments and 3 replications ie A (0% corn oil + 0% fish oil), B (1.5% corn oil + 1.5% fish oil), and C (3% corn oil + 3% fish oil). Parameters observed included specific growth rate, total feed consumption, feed efficiency, fat retention, and survival rate. The supporting parameter is water quality. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance and continued by fisher test with 95% confidence interval. The results showed that there was a significant effect (P <0.05) on the growth rate of eel fish fed with the enrichment of essential fatty acids with fish oil and corn oil. Treatment C (3% corn oil + 3% fish oil) is the optimum dose because it has the best growth performance and best feed efficiency that is specific growth rate (4.67%), total feed consumption (262,9 g), feed efficiency (61% ), fat retention (2.805%), and survival rate (80%).

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari hibridisasi ikan nila Pandu F6 dengan nila Nilasa terhadap karakter reproduksinya dan performa benih yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini: perlakuan A (Pandu F6 ♀><Pandu F6 ♂), B (Nilasa ♀><Nilasa ♂), C (Pandu F6 ♀>< Nilasa ♂), dan D (Nilasa ♀><Pandu F6 ♂). Data yang diamati meliputi fekunditas, daya tetas telur, diameter dan bobot telur, panjang dan bobot larva TL, panjang dan bobot larva lepas kuning telur, kelulushidupan, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, konversi pakan dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai terbaik pada fekunditas sebesar 1191,67 ± 239,45 butir/200 g, daya tetas telur sebesar 80,93 ± 3,90%, kelulushidupan sebesar 81,55 ± 7,54%, laju pertumbuhan spesifik sebesar 7,26 ± 0,25, konversi pakan 0,54 ± 0,02 didapatkan pada perlakuan C, akan tetapi untuk diameter dan bobot telur, panjang dan bobot larva Kuning Telur, dan panjang dan bobot larva lepas kuning telur tidak berbeda nyata. Hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa hibridisasi (perlakuan C) memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P < 0,05) terhadap fekunditas, daya tetas telur, kelulushidupan, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, dan konversi pakan tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap diameter dan bobot telur, panjang dan bobot larva, dan panjang dan bobot larva lepas kuning telur. Kata kunci: Hibridisasi, Ikan Nila, Karakter Reproduksi, Performa Benih  ABSTRACT This research aims to know the influence of hybridization tilapia fish Pandu F6 with nila Nilasa against the character of the reproduction and seed performance. This research was conducted with the experimental method using Random Design complete (RAL) with 4 treatments and three replicates. The treatments in this study: the treatment A (Pandu F6 F6 ♀ >< Pandu ♂), B (Nilasa ♀>< Nilasa ♂), C (Pandu F6 ♀>< Nilasa ♂), and D (Nilasa ♀ >< Pandu F6 ♂). The observed data covering fecundity, hatching rate, egg size, yolk sack larva length and weight, length and weight of the egg yolk off larvae, survival rate, specific growth rate, feed conversion rate, and water quality. The results showed the best value on the fecundity of 1191.67±239.45 eggs/200 g, Hatching rate 80.93 ± 3.90%, Survival rate of 81.55 ± 7.54%, specific growth rate of 7.26 ± 0.25, conversion fodder 0.54 ± 0.02 obtained at the treatment C, but for the diameter and weight of egg, larval length and weight TL, and the length and weight of the yolk egg off larvae for each treatment do not differ markedly. The results showed that hybridization (treatment C) gives a real influence (P < 0.05) of fecundity,hatching rate, survival rate but not with the egg size, larva weight and length, and the length and weight of larvae off yolk. Tanaman wori merupakan salah satu tanaman kelompok fabaceace yang tumbuh melimpah di Sangihe dan sangat potensial digunakan sebagai salah satu sumber pakan ikan. Kadar protein daun wori adalah 25,53% sehingga berpotensi menjadi protein nabati bagi ikan. Kendala utama yang ditemui ketika memanfaatkan daun tanaman wori adalah kandungan karbohidrat yang tinggi yaitu 48,51% sehingga dapat mempengaruhi proses pencernaan ikan, penyerapan nutrisi yang berujung pada rendahnya pertumbuhan ikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh tepung daun wori femerntasi terhadap laju pertumbuhan spesifik dan sintasan hidup ikan nila. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan yang dilakukan terdiri dari tiga perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan yaitu kadar tepung daun wori tanpa fermentasi A (kontrol) 10%, kemudian B tepung daun wori fermentasi (10%), dan C tepung daun wori fermentasi (20%). Laju pertumbuhan spesifik dan efisiensi pakan diuji menggunakan ANOVA sedangkan sintasan hidup akan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penambahan tepung wori fermenasi dalam pakan dapat meningkatkan nilai laju pertumbuhan spesfik ikan nila dan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan dengan nilai tertinggi pada perlakuan C yaitu SGR 1,94%/hari. Sementara itu, untuk semua perlakuan nilai sintasan hidup sebesar 100%.   The wori plant is one of the plants of the fabaceace group that grows abundantly in Sangihe and has potential to be used as a source of fish feed. The protein content of wori leaves is 25.53%, so it has the potential to become vegetable protein for fish. The main obstacle encountered when utilizing wori plant leaves is the high carbohydrate content of 48.51% so that it can affect the digestion process of fish, nutrient absorption which lead to low fish growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of wori femerntation leaf meal on the specific growth rate and survival of tilapia. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatments consisted of three treatments and three replications, namely the content of fermented wori leaf powder, A (control) 10%, then B fermented wori leaf powder (10%), and C fermented wori leaf powder (20%). Specific growth rate and feed efficiency were tested using ANOVA, while survival rate was analyzed descriptively. The results of this study indicate that the addition of fermented wori powder in the feed can increase the value of the specific growth rate of tilapia and feed utilization efficiency with the highest value in treatment C, namely SGR 1.94% / day. Meanwhile, for all treatments the survival rate was 100%.

Fulfill needs of Siamese gourami still rely on the catch from nature, so the population in nature has become decreased. The increase of Siamese gourami fish production from culture is still constrained by the survival rate and slow growth rate in the seed phase. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of Siamese gourami stocking density on the application of optimum temperature and salinity to growth performance for optimization of production capacity. Application of optimum temperature and salinity refers to the results of previous research, i.e., temperature of 28 °C and salinity 3 ‰. Siamese gourami seed with length of 2.96 ± 0.42 cm and weight of 5.27 ± 0.10 g used in the research. The experimental design used completely randomized design with four treatments, i.e. 1 fish L-1, 2 fish L-1, 3 fish L-1 and 4 fish L-1. The results showed that there were an effect of different stocking density on absolute growth weight and length, survival rate, specific growth rate and productivity. This is shown in the C treatment which growth was 4.95 ± 0.037 g, length 3.51 ± 0.01 cm, survival rate 93.47%, specific growth rate 1.22% and fish productivity of 625.76 g.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh surfaktan terhadap pertumbuhan, kelangsungan hidup dan histologi insang benih ikan nila. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober hingga November 2014 diLaboratorium Hatchery dan Teknologi Program Studi Budidaya Perairan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Malikussaleh Aceh Utara. Ikan diberi perlakuan dengan konsentrasi deterjen yang berbeda, perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu: perlakuan A (Kontrol), B (deterjen 3 %), C (Konsentrasi deterjen 6 %) dan D (Konsentrasi deterjen 9 %). Pengambilan data dilakukan setiap 7 hari sekali. Adapun rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan 3 ulangan dan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Beda Nyata Jujur jika terdapat perbedaan. Parameter yang diamati adalah parameter pada laju pertumbuhan, kelangsungan hidup, histologi insang dan efisiensi pakan serta parameter kualitas air (suhu dan pH). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan nila yang diberi perlakuan konsentrasi deterjen 3 %, 6 %, 9 % berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup. Perlakuan kontrol menghasilkan nilai, laju pertumbuhan dan efisiensi paling baik, yaitu masing-masing sebesar 2,84 gram, 97,36 %, sedangkan untuk kelangsungan hidup menunjukkan hasil yang terbaik pada perlakuan konsentrasi deterjen 3 % yaitu 100 %. Parameter kualitas air selama penelitian yang diukur antara lain adalah suhu air dengan kisaran 26,6-28,1 ᵒC, dan pH 7,1-7,8. This study aimed to know the effect of surfactant on growth, survival rate and gill histology of tilapia fingerling. It carried out on October to November 2014 at Hatchery and Aquaculture Technology Laboratory, Aquaculture Department Agriculture Faculty Malikussaleh University North Aceh. Experimented fish was given different concentrations of detergent. The treatments were A: control, B (detergent 3%), C (detergent 6%), and D (detergent 9%). Sampling data was done every seven days. Experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and three replications then it was continued by BNT test. Observed parameters were growth rate, survival rate, gill histology, feed efficiency, and water quality (temperature and pH). The result showed that different concentrations of detergent (3%, 6%, 9%) affected on growth and survival rate of tilapia fish. Control gave the best growth rate and feed efficiency which were 2,84 grams and 97,36%. While the highest survival rate was obtained in treatment of detergent 3% which was 100%. The water quality parameters during experiment were temperature ranged 26,6-28,1 ᵒC and pH ranged 7,1-7,8.

This research was conducted in May-June 2017 in Hatchery Indoor Maksudi, Astanaanyar, Bandung. This research aims to find out the optimal BIOM-S probiotic on culture media of Nile tilapia, and the influence to survival rate and growth rate of Nile tilapia. This research was conducted by an experiment using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). This research consisted of five treatments and three replications, which were treatment A (control), treatment B (giving probiotic with 0,6 ml/L concentration), treatment C (giving probiotic with 0,8 ml/L concentration), treatment D (giving probiotic with ,0 ml/L concentration), and treatment E (giving probiotic with 1,2 ml/L concentration). The parameters in this research were the survival rate and specific growth rate. Survival rate and specific growth rate used data analysis with F test to find out the influence of each treatment. The concentration of optimal probiotic based on the results was 0.8 ml/L, it produced the highest survival rate for 81.67% and the specific growth rate for 0.039%.
