The aim of the research is to analyse the effect of  profitability, liquidity, and company’s size to company’s value and examines whetherDERis a mediating variable. Secondary data is taken from annual report of the companies. Analysis method used is multiple regression analysis (least square).  The finding of the research showed thatDER mediated  the relationship between CR  andTobin’s Q. However DER is not a mediating variable for the relationship betweenRNOAand TOBINas well as between SIZE  and Tobin’s Q. Mediating test is conducted by Sobel Test. The other finding is that RNOA positively affects to DER. CR negatively affects to DER. SIZE positively affects to DER and then DER negatively affects to Tobin’s Q. Recommendation for future research is to widen the samples, not just  42 companies, to add observed periods to give clearer description in long term. The next research can also use other dependent variables affecting capital structure and company’s value.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find the relationship of capital structure decision with the performance of the firms in the developing market economies like Pakistan.Methodology: Pooled Ordinary Least Square regression was applied to 36 engineering sector firms in Pakistani market listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) during the period 2003-2009.Findings: The results show that financial leverage measured by short term debt to total assets (STDTA) and total debt to total assets (TDTA) has a significantly negative relationship with the firm performance measured by Return on Assets (ROA), Gross Profit Margin (GM) and Tobin’s Q. The relationship between financial leverage and firm performance measured by the return on equity (ROE) is negative but insignificant. Asset size has an insignificant relationship with the firm performance measured by ROA and GM but negative and significant relationship exists with Tobin’s Q. Firms in the engineering sector of Pakistan are largely dependent on short term debt but debts are attached with strong covenants which affect the performance of the firm.Originality/Value: This is first paper to study an individual sector like engineering industry in Pakistan on the mentioned topic.

Since CEO pension is unsecured and unfunded liabilities of the firm, it induces CEOs to have long-term incentives towards minimizing their firms’ default risk. Motivated by the unique characteristics of CEO pension, this study investigates the impact of CEO pension on the value relevance of R&D expenditures. Using Tobin’s Q ratio to measure firm value, the empirical results show that CEO pension intensifies the relation between R&D expenditures and Tobin’s Q ratio. The results remain robust in two-stage least square and propensity score matching regression analysis to address the endogeneity issues in the relation between CEO pension and the value relevance of R&D expenditures. In addition, the regression results with ROA and F-score as the alternative dependent variables also confirm that CEO pension intensifies the relation between R&D expenditures and firm value.

Microfinance is the arrangement of budgetary administrations to low-income individuals and to SMEs. An empirical study was undertaken to identify the relationship between micro credits from MFIs and the SMEs’ financial performance. Secondary data were collected from 17 SMEs in North Lebanon. Another secondary data were collected from four MFIs in Lebanon concerning the characteristics of their beneficiaries. Data were analyzed using SPSS Ver. 23. The results showed notable relationships between amount of micro loan and the dependent variables, the number of women recipients of credits remains little in Lebanon, the categories of businesses mostly profiting from the MFIs in Lebanon are commerce, service, and trade sectors and the beneficiaries are primarily situated at Mount Lebanon, South, Bekaa, and at the north. The research contributes to the enduring deliberation on the effect of micro loans on the SMEs’ financial performance. It is vital to see how MFIs could add to the monetary advancement of the country, by improving the welfare levels of all the needy individuals. This study can be utilized to provide useful empirical evidence for future research and to raise awareness on this significant matter for SMEs’ managers, MFIs’ managers and clients, and for the analysts.

This study aims to determine whether the Capital Structure affects the financial performances partially and simultaneouslly. The Capital Structure in this study is proxide by Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR) and Long Term Debt to Equity Ratio (LTDER), whereas the financial performance is proxide by Return On Asset (ROA). the type of data used in this study is secondary data obtained from the financial statements os plastic and packaging companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2012-2019. The analysis method uses multiple linier regression analysis. The result revealed that partially DAR had negative and significant effect on ROA, while LTDER had no significant effect on ROA. The result also shows that simultaneouslly DAR and LTDER have a significant effect on ROA.

This paper empirically examines the effects of capital structure on the performances of the Unites States’ Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors and investigates the differences in the dynamics of the two sectors. The study employs secondary data sourced from New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)/ NASDAQ for a period of ten (10) years, that is, 2010-2019. It utilized E-View 9.0 for generating the estimation results. The investigation has been performed using panel least square estimation technique and sectoral analysis on the data collected in order to test the set hypotheses. The result shows that although debt structure improved the performances of the firms, a sharp increase in such leverage tends to reduce firm performance for all the firms used. Coefficients namely asset tangibility, interest payment and dividend growth, directors’ shares/inside ownership and non-debt tax shield are quite significant in the result. They demonstrate positive relationships, indicating that these variables tend to affect firm performance on the average across both sectors; especially, the results show that the more efficient firms in terms of shielding taxation perform better. The study therefore recommends among other things that selection of debt as a source of capital finance should be done in line with the costs and benefits associated with the use of debt.

The research objective was to examine and analyze the effect of profitability and liquidity on firm value in companies corporated in LQ 45 and listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and test whether leverage can moderate the relationship between the independent and dependent variables. This research is causal research using secondary data. The population of this study is companies that are members of the LQ45 on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2007 to 2019. The method of determining the sample uses purposive sampling so that a sample of 10 companies is multiplied by 13 years of research to obtain 130 observations. The analysis technique used in this study uses multiple linear regression analysis and moderating tests with the R Studio tools. The results of this study simultaneously profitability and liquidity have a significant effect on firm value. The results partially profitability has a significant positive effect on firm value, liquidity has an insignificant negative effect on firm value. Meanwhile, for simultaneous moderating, the results show that leverage can moderate the relationship between profitability and liquidity simultaneously on firm value, and partially leverage cannot moderate the relationship between profitability and firm value. Leverage is not able to moderate the relationship between liquidity and firm value. Keywords: profitability, liquidity, leverage, firm value.
