Medicinal plants are the richest biosource of drugs of traditional system of medicine. Flax seeds (Linum usitastassimum L) is a multipurpose crop and its consumption is beneficial for health. Flax seeds is a abundant spring of healthy fat, antioxidant and fibre. The nutrient in flax seeds may help under risk of diabetes, cancer, cardiac disease and thyroid. The present study deals with qualitatitive analysis of phytochemicals by the standard method of Harbone .followed by the extraction of seed oil by sohxlet apparatus using petroleum ether as solvent. Quantitative analysis were also done to determine the amount of such phytochemicals. Phytochemicals analysis of flax seeds showed the presence of glycosides, alkaloids and flavonoids in varying amounts which can be used in future for preparation of herbal drugs. Nanosynthesis of flax seeds were also done by using silver nitrate and silver nanoparticle were prepared. Characterisation of silver nanoparticle by U.V Spectroscopy,SEM and EDX Analysis And FTIR Analysis.

Kata kunci: Analisis senyawa metabolit sekunder, ekstrak etanol dan metanol daun dan batang sembukan (Paederia foetida), maserasiABSTRACTPaederia foetida or more familiar with fart leaves is a plant that is usually used by the community as a drug or bloated diarrhea. The content of the secondary metabolite compound of the Paederia foetida plant needs to be studied further for the discovery of new drug ingredients. The purpose of this research is to analyze the content of secondary metabolite compounds found on leaves and stems with a maseration method soaked in 96% ethanol solvent and methanol for 5 days. The ethanol extract and methanol extract on each leaf and stem were then analyzed using chemical reagents to identify the alkaloid compounds, saponins, tanins and flavonoids. The results of phytochemical screening showed that in the ethanol extract and methanol the stem of the Paederia foetida contained alkaloids, saponins, tanins and flavonoids. While on ethanol extract and methanol leaves Paederia foetida contains alkaloids, tanins and flavonoids. Furthermore, the secondary metabolite compounds are analyzed biological activity. Keywords: Analysis of secondary metabolite compounds, ethanol extract and methanol leaves and stirring stem (Paederia foetida), maceration

Traditional medicinal ingredients originating from the Province of East Kalimantan (Indonesia) with the composition of meniran leaves (Phyllanthus niruri L.), cat whiskers leaves (Orthosiphon aristatus), ceplukan leaves (Physalis minima L.), and lempuyang emprit rhizome (Zingiberis amaricana Bl.) are used to help lower blood pressure by the local community. This study aimed to analyze the content of chemical compounds, determine the levels of chemical compounds, and the antihypertensive effect of these traditional medicinal ingredients. This traditional medicinal herb is made into a fine powder and then brewed with boiling water. Phytochemical screening and determination of levels of phytochemical compounds were carried out on these traditional medicinal ingredients. Testing the antihypertensive effect of these traditional medicinal ingredients was carried out on white male rats. The results of the qualitative analysis showed that the chemical compounds contained in the traditional medicinal ingredients were flavonoids, phenols, tannins, and carbohydrates. Quantitative analysis of the traditional medicinal ingredients showed that the content of flavonoid compounds was 0.6375%, phenolic compounds were 3.2412%, and tannin compounds were 0.6593%. Testing the antihypertensive effect of this traditional medicinal herb on rats can reduce systolic, diastolic, and arterial blood pressure. The conclusion is that this traditional medicinal herb contains phytochemical compounds that can help lower blood pressure in rats.

This study is preliminary research of secondary metabolite potential from medicinal Herb Madura. This study aims to know the medicinal plants used in the medicinal herb Madura and the phytochemical content contained in these medicinal plants.  The method used in this study is a survey to know the kinds of medicinal plants used in Madura Herb. Then a phytochemical screening test for the medicinal plant was performed. The phytochemical screening test used are alkaloids, steroids, saponins, and flavonoids.  Based on the research, it is found that 66 medicinal plants are widely used for "Ramuan Madura” in  Bangkalan. Of the 66 plants selected, Madura five medicinal plants widely used by the Madurense; Parameria laevigata, Kaempferia galanga L., Curcuma domestica, Curcuma xanthorrhiza, dan Punica granatum. Then the preliminary phytochemical test to determine the secondary metabolite compounds. Secondary metabolite content obtained include alkaloids, saponins, steroids, and flavonoids.

Present study evaluates the bio-constituents and bioactivity of extract from roots and stems of Withania somnifera (Aswagandha) of Nepalese origin. The phytochemical screening of methanol and n-hexane extracts revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, tannins, quinone, carbohydrates, resins, xanthoprotein etc. The FTIR analysis helped to confirm the functional groups of various medicinally important compounds. The DPPH percentage radical scavenging activity of methanolic and hexane extracts are found to be 3.587 ± 0.004, and 4.484 ± 0.003 µg/mL respectively. The antioxidant activity of the plant goes after the number of total phenolics and flavonoids present on it. GC-MS analysis revealed the presence of more than 14 different compounds in the extract. Moreover, the methanol and hexane extract of plant showed 25.8% and 12.9% α-glucosidase inhibitory activity respectively. The results of the study revealed the medicinal values and pharmacological significance of the plant.

In the present study crude seed extracts of Persia Americana Mill (Avocado) was prepared using petroleum ether, methanol, ethyl acetate and aqueous solvents. The phytochemical screening of different crude extracts were studied for the presence of alkaloids, carbohydrates, protein, phenols, tannins, saponin, triterpenoids, glycosides, phytosterols, gums and mucilage. The crude seed extracts were pharmacologically evaluated for its antiinflammatory efficacy. The results obtained clearly demonstrated that out of the screened crude extracts, petroleum ether extract possess better pharmacological activities. From the GC-MS and FTIR analysis of petroleum ether extract 5 major compounds were identified and considered to play a key role in the overall pharmacological efficacy of avocado seed extract.
