One of great potential area in the fisheries sector in West Java province is Indramayu District. Percentage of fisheries production which accounts for 60% of the needs of the fishery. Indramayu community, especially the northern coastal areas of Indramayu district of livelihood relies heavily on the this sector. During this process the dried fish production still relies on the natural conditions of the solar thermal. So that when the rainy season the fishermen feel a loss, because of natural heating hampered and finally ignored orders from customers due to the  and declining fish quality, so prices soaring sales doubled. Hence, the need for attention to improving the quality of production of dry fish processing, is one of the way by utilizing the split Air Conditioning (AC) as a heating dehumidifier for drying fish. This equipment is modified by utilizing the waste heat from the condenser as reheat is then added to the electric heater is controlled according to the needs drying, and after that it was blown with using  fan/blower to the drying chamber containing the fish on the shelves are arranged. The results obtained can be analyzed on the performance, drying temperature and relative humidity (RH) or water content is as expected.

In fact, fish processing industry is very importance to support development a fishing port. It is the same with the case of territorial fishing port (PPN) of Palabuhanratu. So that a research to determine the condition of fish catch production that was able to support the development of fish processing industry, need to be done. A case study on the underdeveloped of fish processing industry in PPN Palabuhanratu was done. Data analysis using descriptive numerical projection of the catch by estimating the need for the development of fish processing industry. Processing type that exist in PPN Palabuhanratu and nowadays are the processing on fish freezing, fish boiling, fish salting, crisp chips, meatball fish and abon fish. Based on the result of projection, the best fish production prospective as raw material for fish processing industry are skipjack tunas, eastern little tuna, tunas, hairtails, shark, ponyfish, ray, Indo-Pacific marlin, scads and wolf herring. A preceding ten year period of 2008-2017, the production of skipjack tunas, eastern little tuna, tunas, ponyfish, Indo-Pacific marlin, scads and wolf herring tend to increase, while the others will decrease. The development of other types of processing industries can be done for freezing, canning, fillet, loin, surimi and nuggets fish.

The potential of the economic sector of the community in the village of Buluh China, Siak Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar which has potential fisheries. The system of processing fish into salted fish products carried out through fish preservation by drying methods has long been practiced by fish preservative entrepreneurs. In particular, fish drying activities have long been a livelihood for salted fish processing communities in Buluh China village, Siak Hulu Sub-District, Kampar. However, in general, the process of preserving fish through drying methods by relying solely on sunlight is not optimal. The process of drying fish in Buluh China village, Siak Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar is still traditionally carried out, which is dried in the sun. This process takes a long time, it takes time in drying fish 2 to 4 days and that too depends on the sun. The purpose of this activity is to apply biomass-based drying technology for salted fish production. The method used is to make a dryer, biomass burning furnace, drying room (box). The results of this service show high enthusiasm from the community where salted fish production can be obtained in just 1.5 hours with temperatures in the drying chamber reaching 35 to 40 degrees Celsius.

One processed fish product that is favored by many people on Morotai Island is smoked fish. Although much popular, the smoked fish home industry on Morotai Island does not routinely produce smoked fish every day. Smoked fish processing still uses conventional equipments. The equipment which is open makes it difficult for partners to maximize the use of combustion fumes to smoked fish. Much smoke is wasted causing the use of fuel waste and smoking time becomes longer around 4 to 8 hours, so that in one day the partners only do one smoking process. Besides that, with the condition of smoking equipment that is open in the event of strong winds or heavy rain the partner cannot carry out the process of smoked fish. The purpose of this community service activities is to replace conventional (open) fish smoking equipment with modern cabinet / cabinet type smoking equipment to increase smoked fish production. The steps taken are the manufacture of smoking equipment, initial testing in order to maximize the use of fuel and temperature in the smoking cabinet. The next step is testing the estimated time of smoking fish and the capacity of fish in a single production. After the testing phase is completed, it is continued with the socialization stage for the manufacture and operation of the fish fume cupboard tool to partners as well as the production process assistance. The results of the service show that the amount of fuel needed is less. In addition, the time needed in one production is faster (2-3 hours) and partners can produce smoked fish every day.

This service aims to develop a wooden fish business from the traditional method to the method of bamboo packing machines. This service involves two partners, namely the first partner is Mandiri UKM located in Banda Aceh. The method of implementing service activities in the IbM program is carried out by an approach method that involves all members of the SME group actively so that the results of service will be more useful. This service activity wants to develop a Bamboo packing machine technology in product packaging. With the results of this technology, product packaging can be more attractive and the costs incurred can be lower so that the production process can be lower. This can benefit many parties, both craftsmen and traders. Dedication activities, especially in the wood fish production process, will also focus on bamboo packaging products. The packaging is unique so that it adds to the attractiveness of consumers to have it. The results showed that by using unique bamboo packaging, sales increased so that profits also increased. The packaging is specifically designed using a machine and human hands, so the expected results are unique and interesting. Like a bag. In addition, fish processing and marketing also change strategies. Marketing, which is usually only deposited at the store, now there is an expansion, namely, sales are made online and through brochures. Thus the business products of wood fish are increasingly known to people and increasingly add to the desire of people to buy wood fish. Through counseling, the knowledge of wood fish entrepreneurs is also carried out in terms of how to manage and manufacture good wood fish and how to choose fish that are good in the management of wood fish. This service program is expected to be a guide for wood fish entrepreneurs as a science that can be used in the future.

AbstractFish as food has been widely used, and as its consumption is increasing, the efficiency of fish production companies needs to be increased as well. Fish production may consist of many processes, depending on the type of fish products they produce. Based on this, the increase in the efficiency of the whole company could be expensive, especially for small size companies, whose revenues per year are rather small. Therefore, to evaluate and understand which part of the company is the least efficient and needs to be improved first to have the highest increase in the efficiency of the company, the decision making method needs to be used for the evaluation. In this research, the method MULTIMOORA was chosen to evaluate the specific company’s production efficiency. The results have shown that fish preliminary processing is the least efficient process for the chosen case study. Recommendations for improvement the efficiency of the least efficient stage have been developed, therefore improving the efficiency for the whole company.
