DEVELOPMENT OF A MODULE OF BIOLOGY-BASED GUIDED INKUIRI TO EMPOWER LEARNERS ON THE AFFECTIVE AND PSYCHOMOTOR DOMAINS       AbstractThis study aims to improve students’ affective and psychomotor performance through the development of guided-inquiry based biology modules. The research method used was research and development of Borg & Gall that has been modified. A cluster random sampling was conducted to determine 59 students. Data validation was conducted from experts, education practitioners and peers, and students. On average the score of the validation was in a good category with the value of 86.38, 92.71, and 91,80 respectively. With regards to the affective performance, there was a significant different of the score for both experimental and control group. The experimental group gained 81.75 (good) while the control group 65.76 (sufficient).  On the other hand, the average value for psychomotor performance was relatively higher with 92.53 (very good) for experimental group and 75.91 (good) for control group. The results of data analysis using the SPSS application (version 21) showed that the data in both classes were normally distributed and homogeneous so that they were continued with independent samples t-test. The results of statistical tests of affective domains show Tvalue>Ttabel (15.992> 2.002) and Sig. (2-tailed) 0.00 <0.005. Psychomotor domain data show Tvalue>Ttabel (18,312> 2,002) and Sig. (2-tailed) 0.00 <0.005. Based on these results it was concluded that the use of the guided inquiry-based biology modules was able to improve students’ affective and psychomotor performances.

The first group was called experimental group consist of 20 students and the second group was called control group consist of 20 students. After analyzing the data obtained , the researcher found that the use of tic tac toe game has effect in teaching speaking skill. It proved from the data analysis, the researcher found that the value of t-test was 6,3, while the value of t-table in df 38 were 2,024 for confidence level 0,05 (90%) and 2,71 for confidence level 0,01 (99%). It showed that the value of t-test is higher than t-table. It is mean that the use of tic tac toe game has effect in teaching speaking skill. So, the null hypothesis (Ho) was accepted because the use of tic tac toe game has effect in teaching speaking skill at the seond grade of MAN 1 Praya in Academic Year 2014- 2015.

The objectives of this study were to find out: (1) whether or not there was a significant improvement in speaking skill of students who were exposed to chain storytelling and (2) whether or not there was a significant difference in speaking skill between students who were exposed to chain storytelling and those who were not. The sample of this study was 60 tenth grade students of SMA Srijaya Negara, which were divided into control and experimental group, and each group had 30 students. To collect the data, each group was assigned pretest and post test. The data analyses used paired sample t test and independent sample t test in SPSS. The result from paired sample t test showed that the mean difference in post test and pretest of experimental group was 16.000 at the significance level of p<0.05 and since t obtained was higher than t table (9.649>2.04523), H01 was rejected and there was a significant improvement in speaking skill of experimental group. The highest contribution was given by story elaboration aspect (content), and then followed by pronunciation, vocabulary, fluency and grammar. The result from independent sample t test showed that the mean difference between post test of experimental group and control group was 2.4000 at the significance level of p>0.05 with t obtained<t table (0.942<2.00171), since t obtained was lower than t table, H02 was accepted and there was no significant difference in speaking skill between students who were taught by using chain storytelling and those who were not. Nevertheless, the mean difference from the experimental group was higher than that of control group (16.600>7.133). Keywords: teaching speaking, chain storytelling

The sample of this research was taken by using cluster random sampling. Data collection technique in this research used questioner and observation. The technique for data analysis used Liliefors test and Fisher test. The technique for hypothesis used t-test. The t-test result showed tcount = 30,1 > ttable = 1,686, that means H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, the conclusion is the student’s prosocial behavior in experiment group is higher than the student’s prosocial behavior in control group, that showed the student’s participation in scout has significant effect on student’s 3rd grade elementary school prosocial behavior in Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta.

This study tried find the students’ improvement in listening achievement after having taught by using the shadowing technique. The method used was a quasi-experimental that involved two groups, namely the control group and experimental group. The population of this study was all the tenth graders of SMA Negeri 3 Unggulan Kayuagung with a total number of 198 tenth graders. Purposive sampling method was applied to select the sample involved 72 tenth graders. In collecting the data, try out the test was used to get the desirable questions that would be used in the pretest and posttest to both groups in the control and experimental group. To verify the hypothesis, the normality and homogeneity of the data were firstly analyzed before being continued to be analyzed by using a t-test. Based on the result of data analysis in an independent sample t-test, there were some findings found. First, the mean score of a posttest (75.56) in the experimental group was higher than the pretest (69.03) in the control group. Secondly, the value of tobtained was 2.77 at the significant level of p<0.05 in two-tailed testing with df = 70, the critical value of ttable was 1.99. Since the value of tobtained was higher than ttable, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the research hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, it showed that the shadowing technique could improve the tenth-grade students’ listening achievement at SMA Negeri 3 Unggulan Kayuagung.
