This research aims to develop a game to teach the theoretical concepts of the OSI reference model to students who must learn data communication and networking as a compulsory or an elective subject. The survey was administered to most students at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University by a questionnaire to assess a suitable game for students of this generation. The result showed that action games are the most popular game for them. Then, a script of the OSI reference model was drawn based on the theoretical contents and the software design and implementation were performed. After finishing this development process, 19 third-year undergraduate students majoring in information sciences at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University tested this system. The evaluation process was performed using pretest and posttest data analyzed by a paired samples t-test at a 95% confidence level. The result of this study shows that the action game ‘Packet Warrior’ is an efficient tool to help students improve their learning capabilities via fun and good relationships with friends.

This research aims to develop a mobile AR application for enhancing Chinese vocabulary learning to students who learn Chinese as a main subject. The requirement was gathered from Chinese teachers by interview to assess a suitable content and educational technology for students. The result showed that augmented reality is the best choice. Then, 3D model , illustration, sound were drawn based on the contents and the software design and implementation were performed. After finishing this development process, Grade 10th students majoring in Chinese, at School A, Ang Thong provience. tested this application. The evaluation process was performed using pretest and posttest data analyzed by a paired samples t-test at a 95% confidence level. The result of this study shows that the application is an efficient tool to help students improve their learning capabilities.

ABSTRACT Soy harvest matches seasons with shortage of dry matter supply for ruminant feeding in most Brazilian soy-growing areas. Agricultural machinery-producing companies must have market perception, observing new opportunities and developing equipment to meet costumers’ needs. This paper aims to design, build, and test a device to collect soybean crop residues from the combine cleaning mechanism, consisting mainly of vegetable straw (chaff), and the other plant parts (stems) remain being deposited onto the ground. For equipment designing, we made use of the architectural design methodology proposed in the reference model for the agricultural machinery development process. The equipment was designed and built following the proposed methodology, then installed and put into operation in a John Deere 1165 combine. After initial testing and few adjustments, the device showed satisfactory chaff-collecting performance. The equipment consists of a screw conveyor assembled transversely to the combine and a centrifugal fan assembled on the side. The collected chaff is dumped into a trailer towed by tractor.

This research aims to develop interactive learning media for adobe flash-based prayer procedures/Tara (Tata Cara Shalat). Interactive media can develop prayer skills that are taught in the habituation process since the first grade of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI). This research used development research (RD) methods. The development process in this study reached the stage of the formative evaluation process consisting of three steps, namely individual prototype material trials, small group trials, and field tryouts. This field trial involved subjects in a larger class, involving 15-30 (a whole class of learners) or larger groups, namely the available classes. The results of this field trial were used to make a product, material, or final design revisions. Interactive learning media can solve the problem of prayer skills regarding recitation and movement of prayer. Thus, interactive learning media made it easier for students to understand the procedures for prayer quickly; besides, the learning process will be more enjoyable

This paper presents an experience report concerning the use of a platformcalled “Storium” in the subject of “Interactive Fiction” for undergraduatestudents, from a Digital Design Course. The objective was to use the learningtheories of constructivism and multimedia learning to create an instructionalplan devised to teach the students how to create complex interactive narrativesand stories from a practical perspective. During the course, the students learnedthe subject’s theoretical concepts and applied them directly, creating their owninteractive fiction. The results from this research proposes a new approach, usingdigital tools whose resources provides an environment for the creation ofinteractive narratives. These narratives can be used to aid future designs ofinstructional plans for complex writing concepts.

Heuristic evaluation is one of the most used techniques to evaluate the level of usability of a software product. In this research, we performed a comprehensive analysis of the recent studies which report the use of this method in the context of a software development process. The purpose was to identify the specific way in which each author performs this usability evaluation method, in order to propose a formal protocol. After an indeed examination of these studies, we have determined there are several differences in the way this technique is conducted according to the literature. There is no agreement about the number of inspectors that should participate, the usability principles that should be used, the profile of the specialists who must be part of the assessment team, or the evaluation process that should be followed. This work highlights the available settings and a detailed procedure to perform a heuristic evaluation in the domain of software products.

This paper presents a strategy for introducing empowerment approaches to undergraduate students in social work. At the same time it incorporates a focus on developing student skills in the practice relationship. An emphasis on a strengths-based assessment model as an empowering practice intervention helps students to understand the relationship between individual strengths and a collective empowerment lens. The overall quality of the client/worker relationship is explored as well as particular practice techniques in interviewing. The strategy uses an interactive, experiential exercise format that engages students both in process and content. Instructional goals and a subjective learning evaluation process are discussed. The history of social work practice is replete with metaphors for empowerment. Jane Addams' Hull House, Bertha Capen Reynolds' emphasis on “plain people” (1964), and the inclusion of Freirean “dialogic processes” (1973) represent a few of the efforts that have shaped current social work practice models of empowerment that target oppression. In the reactionary political climate of the 1990s, the call for empowerment approaches has gained nearly as much urgency as oppression itself. This paper will examine the relationship of empowerment principles to social work practice and education and will demonstrate the usefulness of the strengths perspective in making political/empowerment issues relevant to BSW students. It will incorporate Charles Cowger's work on assessment (Cowger, 1992Cowger, 1997) and through it will consider appropriate instructional goals, including skill development necessary to building relationships with clients. Finally, it will describe the link from individual strengths-based relationships to an empowerment stance.
