The chapter gives insight into the harmful use of pesticides in different professional environments. It portrays the use of pesticides as the potential risks to the health of users and third parties and a danger to the environment. The use of pesticides has increased at a phenomenal rate. Pesticides and their threat to the biological world have reached almost hysterical proportions. Their residues are found everywhere, particularly those of the so-called “hard pesticides” or organochlorine compounds, DDT. Herein, an attempt has been made to reflect pesticide exposure in different occupational settings and their harmful effects on humans. Excess use of pesticide in agriculture has placed workers in this industry at risk of lethal exposure. Personnel working in domestic pest control service is also from continuous exposure to the pesticide. Further, the chapter highlights various corrective measures to be taken by the people working in different occupational settings to combat the dangerous effects of pesticides in everyday life.

Abstract With the rapid development of information technology and the growing scale of enterprise development, more and more enterprise application systems appear due to business scenarios, requiring the system to execute the specified business operations at the planned time, which is the demand of “timed tasks”. The rapid growth of business volume makes the number of timed tasks also increase massively, and the importance of timed task application scenarios requires more and more strict guarantee of reliable triggering of tasks. In this paper, to address these problems, we design and implement a distributed system providing timed task scheduling service based on Quartz, an open source lightweight job scheduling framework, and realize business modules such as timed task control service, trigger execution, lock grabbing trigger, unified configuration management, task load balancing and log management. The system has been tested and put into operation, and has completed the requirements well and achieved the design goals.

The article considers the process of cooperation between the ATC and airport operation services. The analysis considers the procedures of cooperation while inspecting a runway before performing flights, aircraft departure and arrival that encompass the entire range of coordinated operations. For each procedure, the costs of aircraft delays are calculated. The assessment was carried out by synthesizing the chronology of services cooperation in real conditions. On the basis of the collected data flowcharts of services cooperation to ensure flights of an airport and the ATM services were built. To provide a visual comparison of the existing and proposed model sof services cooperation the networks of services cooperation were built based on the mathematical model of the graphic chart. The operation network establishes the sequence of events to provide departure of one aircraft operating a scheduled flight of an airline. Within the given study the ATC service and the aerodrome service are involved to ensure a departure. Cooperation between the operation and dispatch service of the airport and an aircraft crew is conditional because in this case they do not impact the technology of cooperation. The network is a particular set of dots(summits)interconnected by lines (links). In the case of our study, circles are events (performed work). Directional segments (lines) are work connecting events to each other. While assessing the process of cooperation during arrival and departure, two cases were considered: the runway is occupied or clear.The runway could be occupied for different reasons: available vehicles, people, animals or flocks of birds on the runway. The study of the cooperation technology was carried out for 12 monthsof making scheduled flights at Zhukovsky and Ostafievo airports on the basis of every day flight plans.

The article is assigned to the methodological provisions of the philosophy of control. The organization and management principle were developed. Different types of activity and the system of management indicators are considered. The main warehouses of control in the organizational structure are determined. The characteristics of a flexible system of data banks, which contain information from the costing system, from the calculation system, from the profit calculation system, etc. are given. AbstractObserving and controlling the dependability of service provision of complex IoT systems is challenging. In practice, many organizations struggle to derive consumer needs related to quality and to observe and quantify the service provision in the context of the dynamic behavior of a complex distributed system. In this paper, we present an approach to define and evaluate the dependability of complex IoT systems. Our approach is an adaptation of the ISO/IEC 25040, an international standard for the evaluation process for system and software quality, which is part of the systems and software quality requirements and evaluation (SQuaRE) series. Our approach was designed and evaluated with action research in an industrial study at Robert Bosch GmbH. Based on the framework of the SQuaRE series, we integrated different elements of site reliability engineering (SRE) and combined them with distributed tracing as a promising measurement method. Our approach introduces the IoT transaction concept to reduce modeling and observation efforts while increasing operationalization to measure performance against dependability targets. Our adaption was effectively applied, consumer-centricity along different system stakeholders were enhanced, and negative consequences of organizational silos were reduced. This has improved the dependability evaluation of service provision to enable fast feedback cycles for service performance control and improvement.

Introduction: Congenital syphilis is an infectious disease that has the etiological agent Treponema pallidum. Its transmission is vertical hematogenous, transplacental, of infected pregnant untreated or inadequately treated for its concept. It divides into two periods: early to the second year of life, and after the second year of life, late. Detection during prenatal care is performed by screening the third trimester of pregnancy with preterm labor, as early as in the maternity ward. The detection of Treponema pallidum through non-treponemal test (VDRL), presents little specificity, high sensitivity, low cost and fast negativation in response to the treatment avoiding that the concept is born with sequels. Thus, prenatal care is an important tool in the control of the disease, and it is necessary to improve care quality, since 70% of the mothers in Brazil are prenatal, not all of them are diagnosed or have the appropriate treatment of syphilis. Objective: To establish an epidemiological panorama of the incidence of Congenital Syphilis in the socioeconomic and cultural context in which the School Hospital of the Southern Region of the city of São Paulo is inserted. Patients and Methods: This is an individualized, observational, cross-sectional study carried out by means of a medical records survey of the Hospital Infection Control Service of Hospital Escola da Região Sul in the city of São Paulo. The survey of data referring to the form with questions of interest to the mother and the newborns diagnosed with Congenital Syphilis in the period from 2012 to 2016 was developed. This project was submitted and approved by the Ethics Committee of the Santo Amaro University - SP (Plataforma Brasil - CAAE: 68103317.6.3001.5447). Results: A total of 183 cases of Congenital Syphilis were registered in the Hospital Infection Control Service of the São Paulo School Hospital from 2012 to 2016, and among these, 126 medical records were reinforced. Prenatal performance (p = 0.0060), schooling (p = 0.5107) and schooling (p = 0.8603) did not influence disease screening by showing insignificant statistical data. Success occurred with companion treatment (p = 0.0451), which showed the highest incidence in 2014 (48.1%) and 2016 (58.3) when compared to the others. Conclusion: In the presented scenario, it was verified that although prenatal and maternal treatment were performed, they were inefficient to prevent pregnant women from transmitting the disease. This is probably related to the inefficiency of the treatment of the companions, who although in the year 2014 and 2016 presented a higher incidence of accomplishment, coincided with the increase of notifications in those same years. There were no statistically significant differences in relation to other factores, a fact that causes concern in the field of Public Health.

The fifth-generation (5G) network is presented as one of the main options for Industry 4.0 connectivity. Ultra-Reliable and Low Latency Communications (URLLC) is the 5G service category used by critical mechanisms, with a millisecond end-to-end delay and reduced probability of failure. 5G defines new numerologies, together with mini-slots for a faster scheduling. The main challenge of this is to select the appropriate numerology according to radio conditions. This fact is very important in industrial scenarios, where the fundamental problems are interference and multipath propagation, due to the presence of concrete walls and large metallic machinery and structures. Therefore, this paper is focused on analyzing the impact of the numerology selection on the delay experienced at radio link level for a remote-control service. The study, which has been carried out in a simulated cellular factory environment, has been performed for different packet sizes and channel conditions, focusing on outliers. Evaluation results show that not always a higher numerology, with a shorter slot duration, is appropriate for this type of service, particularly under Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) conditions.
