Cloud Computing is gaining a considerable attention in the past few years, where hardware and software are provided on-demand as a service through internet following the simple pay-as-you-go financial model. Using such powerful technology, several projects, in different areas, have been built like supporting academic and scientific researches, providing governmental services, and developing business applications. Unfortunately, the previous works and ongoing researches in these areas are scattered among the literature, on the internet, and from research groups, which makes it hard for researchers to be involved in such vast wave of researches. This chapter carefully reviews the emergence of the Cloud in all of the above mentioned areas through a wide range of well classified researches, projects, and applications that have been either innovated or improved due to the Cloud disclosure. Moreover, the chapter comparatively discusses the previous work done in these fields and explores the opened research points.

AbstractIn the 2016 Abiola Lecture, Mbembe argued that “the plasticity of digital forms speaks powerfully to the plasticity of African precolonial cultures and to ancient ways of working with representation and mediation, of folding reality.” In her commentary, Pype tries to understand what “speaking powerfully to” can mean. She first situates the Abiola Lecture within a wide range of exciting and ongoing scholarship that attempts to understand social transformations on the continent since the ubiquitous uptake of the mobile phone, and its most recent incarnation, the smartphone. She then analyzes the aesthetics of artistic projects by Alexandre Kyungu, Yves Sambu, and Hilaire Kuyangiko Balu, where wooden doors, tattoos, beads, saliva, and nails correlate with the Internet, pixels, and keys of keyboards and remote controls. Finally, Pype asks to whom the congruence between the aesthetics of a “precolonial” Congo and the digital speaks. In a society where “the past” is quickly demonized, though expats and the commercial and political elite pay thousands of dollars for the discussed art works, Pype argues that this congruence might be one more manifestation of capitalism’s cannibalization of a stereotypical image of “Africa.”

Cloud solutions provide a powerful computing platform that enables individuals and Cloud users to perform a wide range of tasks, such as using an online storage system, implementing business applications, developing customized computer software, and establishing a realistic network environment. The number of people using cloud services has increased dramatically in recent years, and a massive amount of data has been stored in cloud computing environments. As a result, data breaches in cloud services are increasing year after year as a result of hackers who are constantly attempting to exploit cloud architecture's security vulnerabilities. In this paper, we investigate and analyse real-world cloud attacks in order to demonstrate the techniques used by hackers against cloud computing systems and how to prevent such malicious activities.

Cloud computing is used to provide users with computer resources on-demand any time over the Internet. At the Hochschule Furtwangen University (HFU) students, lecturers, and researchers can leverage cloud computing to enhance their e-learning experience. This chapter presents how cloud computing provides on-demand virtual desktops for problem solving, on-demand virtual labs for special courses, and on-demand collaboration platforms to support research groups. The focus is how cloud services can be used, how they can be integrated into the existing HFU-IT infrastructure, and how new didactic models could look.

This research shows the growing utility of internet-based digital models in reviving the crisis-stricken traditional print monograph publishing. The rising prices of scientific journals in the past three decades forced academic and research libraries to resort to cutbacks on monograph budgets. The declining sales to libraries and rising production costs led to a significant drop in global demand for print monographs, rendering monograph publishing financially unattractive. Combining the flexibility of digitized content with the global reach of the Internet, three emerging digital models — print on demand, bundled e-books, and e-consortia — are beginning to revamp the monograph publishing business.

The objective of this review is to explore the past work done on Cubosomes as drug delivery systems by factorial design. Cubosomes are Nanoparticulate systems made of amphiphilic lipids at a certain percentage, known as liquid crystals. They have tightly packed honeycomb structures twisted into 3D bilayers. Cubosomes can capture all categories of the lipophilic, hydrophilic, and amphiphilic substances irrespective of their affinity, by that they fit for delivering all range of drugs with ease. Many works in recent days are concentrating on Cubosomes for drug delivery, as it suits all ranges of drugs without much difficulty. Cubosomes acts as a carrier in drug delivery for a wide range of drugs and protects them from degradation issues like hydrolysis, oxidation, and others. Moreover, numerous studies have established the benefits of Cubosomes in nanotechnology, prolonged-release, and also enhanced bioavailability. This article reviews about the past work done on Cubosomes using factorial design. Additionally, many studies need to be performed for the optimization of Cubosomes for artificial cells, and biosensors, etc. Moreover, the rational design of Cubosomes for biomedical applications need to be developed. A widespread literature assessment revealed that many reviews and research attempts were made on Cubosomes, but no review article is still available in bringing the attempts made on Cubosomes by factorial design on a single platform. The factorial approach is used to optimize the formulation, which is acceptable and used in the current scenario in optimizing the formulations. So, the authors made widespread work by referring to peer-review journals, periodicals, magazines, and succeeded in bringing work done on Cubosomes in the last ten years by using factorial design. The study concludes and gives a quick reference to the young researchers to get literature on earlier successive attempts done on Cubosomes by factorial design.

The cost effectiveness of cloud computing highly depends on how well the customer can optimize the cost of renting resources (VMs) from cloud providers. The issue of resource provisioning optimization from cloud-consumer potential is a complicated optimization issue, which includes much uncertainty parameters. There is a much research avenue available for solving this problem as it is in the real-world. Here, in this paper we provide details about various optimization techniques for resource provisioning.</span>

Cloud computing is considered the next step in the evolution of technological applications, services and products development, in the Future Internet and Internet of Things context. The permanent connection of users to the Internet has become widespread, so almost all available resources (data, software) can be placed on the Internet, shared between users - sometimes completely independently of others, and brought from the Internet to the user's computer on demand. The chapter highlights the benefits of using hybrid technology with a focus towards entrepreneurs and business innovators. Intercloud systems are built of heterogeneous services, offered by different providers of cloud computing. To emphasize the business opportunities offered by innovative Intercloud approaches, an architecture for the interconnection of cloud services offered by multiple cloud providers, with applications to e-health, is presented. The main concepts and business benefits of using Intercloud systems and an architecture for interconnecting cloud services from multiple cloud providers is described.

Cloud computing is a technology that allows dynamic and flexible computing capability and storage through on-demand delivery and pay-as-you-go services over the Internet. This technology has brought significant advances in the Information Technology (IT) domain. In the last few years, the evolution of cloud computing has led to the development of new technologies such as cloud federation, edge computing, and fog computing. However, with the development of Internet of Things (IoT), several challenges have emerged with these new technologies. Therefore, this paper discusses each of the emerging cloud-based technologies, as well as their architectures, opportunities, and challenges. We present how cloud computing evolved from one paradigm to another through the interplay of benefits such as improvement in computational resources through the combination of the strengths of various Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), decrease in latency, improvement in bandwidth, and so on. Furthermore, the paper highlights the application of different cloud paradigms in the healthcare ecosystem.
