In this modern era of computing, we are surrounded directly or indirectly related to the computer resources and services, and uses several programming language, different database management systems like RDBMS. At the same time, it need respective compilers and editors for different languages and the most important resource is “storage”, which could be either in the form of primary or secondary space storage. Our Industries like banking, health and education are growing with rapid demand of resources. Thus, to reduces the load of resources consumption and improves its capacity with performance, would be major focus into this chapter. This could be crafted with policy-base assignment of resources approach and adaptive self-learning with virtualization of resources for optimization. Using such approaches and methods, it helps in quality of service with higher availability, greater performance, and improved recoverability.

Multi-agent distributed systems are characterized by autonomous entities that interact with each other to provide, and/or request, different kinds of services. In several contexts, especially when a reward is offered according to the quality of service, individual agents (or coordinated groups) may act in a selfish way. To prevent such behaviours, distributed Reputation Management Systems (RMSs) provide every agent with the capability of computing the reputation of the others according to direct past interactions, as well as indirect opinions reported by their neighbourhood. This last point introduces a weakness on gossiped information that makes RMSs vulnerable to malicious agents’ intent on disseminating false reputation values. Given the variety of application scenarios in which RMSs can be adopted, as well as the multitude of behaviours that agents can implement, designers need RMS evaluation tools that allow them to predict the robustness of the system to security attacks, before its actual deployment. To this aim, we present a simulation software for the vulnerability evaluation of RMSs and illustrate three case studies in which this tool was effectively used to model and assess state-of-the-art RMSs.

Fatima Memorial Hospital is the first charitable Trust Hospital in Pakistan, and its sponsoring body is Ferozesons Trust. In order to continue to provide services to the needy, the Trust needed to continuously improve its financial resources. When Dr. Qureshi took over the charge of the Hospital as its ACEC, he was asked to streamline the management systems to build a lean organization. He decided to outsource the janitorial services as a pilot project to achieve a number of objectives. If the janitorial services experiment proved successful, then the project would extend to laundry work as well. After the janitorial services were outsourced, concerns regarding cleanliness of the Hospital were brought up by patients and the management. They felt that the quality of service being provided by the contractor was not up to desired quality standards. In view of this, ACEC had two concerns: not to de-motivate the contractor; and not to compromise on the quality of service being provided by the contractor.

The online access has been increasing rapidly with the digitization of information, cheaper Internet service and affordable devices to access the Internet. This entails for not only handling increasing number of web requests but also meeting Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of end-users. Content Delivery Network (CDN) system is used to make better the performance of origin server by storing the popular contents on surrogate servers. The contents are disseminated to the web users through surrogate servers. The performance of CDN system relies on the selection of appropriate surrogate server to satisfy end-users’ requests. The proposed method named Load Balancing using Neighbors and Utility Computing (LBNUC) takes into account requests arrival rate, load on surrogate servers, end-users’ changing demand and capacity of surrogate servers. The aim is efficient utilization of CDN resources to minimize the time required to serve end-users requests and the cost of servicing requests. This method is also effective in handling of flash crowd situation by monitoring request rate. It handles this situation with support from neighbor surrogate servers and arranging additional resources, if required, through utility computing to meet QoS requirement of end-users.

On the development of the database currently has become a very important thing, each will plan something, consider any thing we will need and use existing data in a database, The development of the database currently has become a very important thing, when we want to plan something and consider everything,  we will need and use existing data in a database, PostgreSQL is one Object Relational Database Management Systems (DBMS) open source with a lot of features that are not less sophisticated to commercial databases. On daily use, it sometimes occurs  a case that requires a dynamic column, therefore we should make the new columns to meet those needs. However, if each row of the table column requires  different  column and potentially need another ones, then it is going to be useless. On the research of utilizing the technology of JavaScript Object Notation (JSON),Json_encode PHP programming language can simplify the use of the column so that  a new column is  no longer needed when we want to create a new column on the table, we only need a new column that stores an array that has been converted into a JSON string forms the result of json_encode that represents the column name and the content of the columns of a table.

Real-time DBMSs (DataBase Management Systems) are designed to manage transactions with time constraints and maintain the database consistency. The Quality of Service (QoS) in these systems is often evaluated based on the number of transactions satisfying their deadlines using a Feedback Control Scheduling Architecture (FCS). In this context, we are interested in the recently proposed FCS for Real-Time Ontology (FCSRTO) allowing to manage real-time ontological data, to which a specific execution of transactions is proposed. Being essential for the execution process of transactions, scheduling has been the subject of a recent work proposing the Advanced Earliest Deadline First based on Transactions Aggregation Links and Data Semantic Links (AEDF-TAL-DSL) as a scheduling protocol. It is mainly based on considering the aggregation links existing between transactions as well as the semantic links appearing between the users queries as scheduling parameters. Our work is to propose a new QoS approach called Semantics-Based FCSRTO. Our approach consists in combining the FCSRTO and the AEDF-TAL-DSL in a same architecture. Hence, we are improving the FCSRTO by using a sophisticated scheduling protocol on one hand, and on the other, it improves the AEDF-TAL-DSL scheduling protocol by managing transactions accessing to real-time ontological data. We also show the contributions provided by our QoS approach through a set of simulations.

The efficiency and effectiveness of Quality of Service QoS performance methods in a Distributed Database Management System DDBMS environment are measured by their successfully simulation on the real world applications. To achieve the goals of the simulation modules and to analyze the behaviour of the distributed database network system and the QoS performance methods of fragmentation, clustering and allocation, an integrated software tool for a DDBMS supported by the OPNET is designed and presented. It is developed to wisely distribute the data among several sites on a database network system, effectively enhance the QoS performance at lower cost, successfully provide reliability to the DDBMS in case of site failure, and efficiently increase the data availability where multiple copies of the same data are allocated to different sites. The integrated software tool supply the database administrators with a software that is friendly use, easy to navigate, comprehensive, and expandable that simulate the techniques of database fragmentation, clustering network sites, and fragment allocation and replication in a DDBMS. The tool performs the database transactions operations efficiently and effectively through reliable forms that allow the database administrators to control over their operations and follow up the system improvements and QoS enhancements. The performance evaluation and simulation results indicate that the proposed methods significantly improves the QoS performance in the DDBMS even with manageable extra information, network sites, communication and processing cost functions.
