This chapter presents a framework for a Web-based hospital information system to manage the surgery-management process (SMP). The framework can be used to manage any other hospital information system processes. The developed framework challenges the traditional hospital Web strategies with a dual aim: first, to improve customer satisfaction in an environment that often imposes unexplained deviation from planned activities, and second, to create a system that is an effective decision-support system for SMP. The chapter identifies factors affecting SMP decisions and employs a descriptive modeling technique known as IDEF3 to map the information flow within and between elements of SMP. The IDEF3 process mapping becomes part of an integrated Web-based system of multiple stages. Each stage has three levels of accessibility. The first level of the Web system is accessible to the public, the second level is accessible to patients and their designated representatives, and the third level is accessible only to hospital professionals.

Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPN Veteran Jakarta) is one of the public universities which views student associations to play an important role in student self-development. Student’s self-development can be realized if students participate in every activity. but a lot of problems that occur because the process related to student association is still done manually without using an information system, where students have to come to campus to take care of all the needs to hold an activity. So that we need a system that aims to improve services to student associations as well as facilitate the management of existing student associations data and can increase the credibility of UPN Veteran Jakarta itself. It is called SIWA. It is expected to minimize errors that occur and manage business processes that exist in each student association. So that the benefits generated later, it is hoped that information on Real Estimate of Cost, submission of activity proposals, accountability reports and annual reports can be managed properly. Besides that, it can also support a paperless culture in the college environment. This information system will be built based on a web-based system and its development will use the waterfall method.

Pendataan secara manual dianggap tidak efektif serta membutuhkan waktu, di saat melakukan pengecekan dan pencarian data-data pegawai tersebut harus membuka satu persatu Arsip Pegawai. The increasing need for property in Tanjungpinang City is very growing, especially in the housing sector. Selection of property based on location and facilities and infrastructure is always a consideration for the community in making decisions to buy a property. Difficulty finding property location information in a certain area often occurs, resulting in people not getting references about the properties offered in Tanjungpinang City. The purpose of this research is to create a web-based geographic information system (GIS) regarding the distribution of the number of properties on offer, especially in Tanjungpinang City using a web-based mapping approach. In the development of Property GIS the author uses the Waterfall method and in the analysis of system requirements it is modeled with UML (Unified Modeling Language) and implemented with the PHP programming language and MySQLI database. It is hoped that the results of making this property's geographic information system can help the public to find out information about the distribution of properties offered, such as the location of property coordinates, addresses, prices, property photos, property specification data and property developer data.

Technology is increasingly sophisticated with over time competition in the business world such as E-Commerce has a positive impact on entrepreneurs to advance their companies, namely by creating online websites so that offerings and sales are easy among the public. By accessing the website page of PT. Daya Berkah Sentosa Nusantara buyers do not have to come directly to the place or company, and send offers according to admin needs.The purpose of this study is to make it easier for researchers to solve supply and sales problems based on problems that arise in the company. The method used in this study is the Waterfall Method, with data collection techniques used using observation, interviews and literature study. The desired result of this research is to be able to create a website for the company, to be able to expand marketing reach, buyers can view products through the website.

In this chapter the authors report about their experiences in education of both students of healthcare engineering at Graz University of Applied Sciences, and students of medicine at the Medical University Graz, gained during the winter term 2004. Care2x is an open source Web-based integrated healthcare environment (IHE). It allows the integration of data, information, functions, and workflows in one environment. The system is currently consisting of four major components, which can also function independently: hospital information system (HIS), practice management (PM), a central data server (CDS) and a health exchange protocol (HXP). Although the components are under heavy development, the HIS has reached a degree of stability, where one can use it at least for educational purposes. Various groups also report the usage of enhanced versions of Care2x in real life settings. Our experiences in both—very different—student groups have been very promising. In both groups the acceptance was high and Care2x provided good insights into the principles of a hospital information system. The medical students learned the principal handling of a HIS, whereas the engineering students had the possibility to go deeper into technical details.

Academic programs seek accreditation to raise their profile. Establishment of program assessment and continuous improvements processes is required to gain and maintain accreditation. Assessment processes are about defining course learning outcomes, student outcomes, and program educational objectives; collect course assessment data, perform statistical evaluations and derive meaningful conclusions to improve the program. Web-based technologies can be used to improve communication, collaboration, coordination and flow control among different entities involved in the processes. This paper presents a web-based system that was designed to assist in assessment and continuous improvement processes with objective to meet the requirements of two accreditation bodies in a program that has academically diverse faculty.

The monitoring process of children’s health (nutrition fulfillment) carried out by Puskesmas (Community Health Center/ CHC) officials as front personnel of health services for local communities is not well implemented yet. In addition, the unavailability of the early warning system for the identification of child malnutrition had worsen the problem. It is primarily caused by less accurate patient recording system within CHCs, as well as ineffective and inefficient data reporting since the process  is carried out manually. This research proposes an alternative early detecting system of child malnutrition within a number of regions in which CHCs are located based on the development of web-based system for the child malnutrition surveillance and integrated into an Internet network to facilitate its usage by medical personnel. The system is mainly aimed to ease CHC officials to input such systematic patient data that it is relatively fast to identify if there is a possible indication of child malnutrition within a particular area. The system is expected to be an early warning detector of children malnutrition cases and assist the head of health authority as a decision maker to take initiatives accordingly. Recommendations from the system are made available for users following which, health authority and the public can monitor the operation of the system directly by accessing the output data from the nutritional status study of a certain area.

Behavior of sexual deviation is an unacceptable sexual behavior among the public. The lack of knowledge and the many obstacles to obtain information about early detection and community independence about sexual deviation and ignorance of the community in dealing with sexual deviation is also a factor not handled early. Forward chaining, consultation begins with a search of the premise or input data in the form of symptoms to the conclusion that is the conclusion of the type of deviation behavior as well as the solution. From the above problems will be built Web-based system that serves to detect the beginning independently of the perceived disorders that can be accessed with an extensive lap and time is not limited.The system is built using PHP and MySQL programming as the database. The method used for forwarding is forward chaining. While the results of the diagnosis will inform about the diagnosis of the list of symptoms included, information on the results of the rules of the disorder suffered and information about the possibility of handling can be done.Black box testing techniques are emphasized on data entry, output data, system functions, performance, and initialization in the system. While testing the alpha test is done by inviting 10 respondents testing is emphasized on the interface, dialogue, and information generated. From the results of testing the alpha test shows that the system created has been running well and produce information that is accurate, and easy to understand.

The information system is a system within an organization that meets the needs of data management, support the operation, managerial and strategic activities of an organization or agency and provide reports for a particular party to utilize the computer as a means to access the Internet network. To be able to manage data in the form of a database, it is necessary to develop a web-based information system. For that we need an information system that can facilitate the running of a sales transaction and as a promotional event, so that it is expected to increase sales at the company and compete with other companies. Public relations can be defined relations among the public, showed large public who must perform the connection, and because the public a lot, then indicate the number of relationships. PT. Starvindo Asia Utama only uses brochures as a promotional tool. The purpose of making this web program is to facilitate service sales transactions so that it is more economical, fast and easy without the need to be hindered by distance and time.
