The Use of Metamodels in Web Requirements to Assure the Consistence

The increasing complexity and the many different aspects that should be treated at the same time require flexible but powerful methodologies to support the development process. Every day, the requirements treatment in Web environments is becoming a more critical phase because developers need suitable methods to capture, define, and validate requirements. However, it is very important that these methods assure the quality of these requirements. The model-driven engineering is opening a new way to define methodological approaches that allow control and relate concepts that have to be treated. This chapter presents a Web methodological approach to deal with requirements, NDT (navigational development techniques) based on model-driven engineering. As it is presented, NDT proposes a set of procedures, techniques, and models to assure the quality of results in the Web requirements treatment.

<p>Active teaching is a key component in the education system at all stages of education. In practice, introduction of active teaching in mathematics teaching in primary school poses significant challenges for teachers. To solve this problem, we have developed a methodological approach described in this article. In particular, we suggest an active teaching model whose realization is linked to the inclusion of problems with developmental and interdisciplinary content in the teaching process in mathematics classes. The solutions of these problems are associated with particular themes in mathematics classes. We discuss the methodology for constructing the systems of problems with developmental and interdisciplinary content in accordance with particular themes in mathematics classes in primary school, which is based on the scheme that we developed. We have also analyzed the indicators of including such problems in mathematics classes in primary school and the results of the educational experiment demonstrating that the author’s methodological approaches provide a high quality of mathematical education for primary school pupils, make the teaching process interesting and attractive, and ensure their involvement in the process of active teaching and learning through the systems of specially selected problems.</p><p>Aktyvusis mokymas yra pagrindinis ugdymo sistemos komponentas visais ugdymo etapais. Praktinis aktyviojo matematikos mokymo pradinėse klasėse įgyvendinimas mokytojams kelia rimtų iššūkių. Norėdami išspręsti šią problemą, mes sukūrėme metodinę prieigą, aprašytą šiame straipsnyje. Mes siūlome aktyviojo mokymo modelį, kurio įgyvendinimas yra susijęs su lavinamojo ir tarpdalykinio turinio uždavinių įtraukimu į mokymo procesą matematikos pamokose. Šių uždavinių sprendimai yra susiję su konkrečiomis temomis, nagrinėjamomis per matematikos pamokas. Mes aptariame lavinamojo ir tarpdalykinio turinio uždavinių sistemų konstravimo metodiką, pagrįstą mūsų sudaryta schema, pagal konkrečias pradinių klasių matematikos pamokų temas. Taip pat išanalizavome tokių uždavinių įtraukimo į matematikos pamokas pradinėse klasėse rodiklius ir edukacinio eksperimento rezultatus, parodydami, kad autorės metodinės prieigos lemia aukštą pradinių klasių mokinių matematinio ugdymo kokybę, mokymo procesą daro įdomų bei patrauklų ir užtikrina mokinių dalyvavimą aktyvaus mokymo bei mokymosi procese sprendžiant tikslingai parinktų uždavinių sistemas</p>

The regulation of the restructuring employment processes that occurs in the course of the development of the economy and the evolution of its structure should be based on the selection of sectoral priorities and be accompanied by an assessment of this process in terms of its compliance with the needs of the development of progressive types of economic activity. In this regard, the problem of elaborating methodological approaches that ensure the orderliness and controllability of the process of restructuring employment, including objectifying the choice of progressive industries and assessing the quality of shifts in the sectoral structure of employment, is highly relevant. The article substantiates approaches to identifying sectoral priorities for restructuring employment based on the criteria of economic efficiency and involvement in the implementation of government programs and also proposes a sequential process for evaluating the quality of shifts in employment based on their compliance with the selected sectoral priorities. Within the framework of the proposed approaches, using the example of the labor market in Kazakhstan, the results obtained are presented, such as a sequence of analytical actions to determine the range of priority sectors, a matrix for identifying sectoral priorities for employment, a scheme for implementing a methodological approach to assessing the quality of shifts in the sectoral structure of employment. On the basis of the proposed approaches, an assessment of the quality of shifts in the sectoral structure of employment in Kazakhstan was carried out and conclusions were drawn about the insufficient correspondence of these shifts to the priorities of the country's economic development.

Aiming at the engineering-oriented application requirements of the equipment requirement demonstration, the demonstration process driven by models is regarded as the essential goal. Firstly, the activities and the modeling requirements of the equipment requirement demonstration are analyzed in detail. Thereafter, the model system of the equipment requirement demonstration is built. Focusing on the design of the model base, the model-driven model development process and the design pattern of the models based on MVC are put forward and discussed emphatically. The VV&A mechanism is designed to improve the quality of the models. According to the management requirements of the model base, the model management technology based on ontology is put forward, and then the run mechanism of the model base is studied. Throughout all these designs, the models simulating the equipment requirement demonstration activities can be understood and reused better, and can satisfy the elementary requirements building the toolkits based on these models. Simultaneity, the equipment requirement demonstration activities can be regulated and formalized with the toolkits.

Software applications have been identified as potentially suitable tools to assist older adults in several aspects of their lives, like healthcare, emotional support and personal security. However, developing usable and useful applications for this population represents an important challenge, given that no systematic solutions have been proposed to support such a process. This article hypothesizes that a model-driven engineering (MDE) approach can help generate suitable user interfaces for elderly people, making the development process repeatable and allowing the systematic reuse of design knowledge about products for these end-users. To determine the validity of such hypothesis, the article presents the results of a case study where a healthcare supporting system for older adults, developed by using an MDE approach, was evaluated in four older adult care centers. The results obtained were highly positive, showing MDE as a possible path to address systematically the development of these applications.

On the way toward the integration of national higher medical education into the European educational space remains an open question about the optimal method of quality control of the acquired knowledge, which will determine the level of training specialists and achieve certain programmed learning outcomes. The purpose of this work was to evaluate the effectiveness of new methodological approaches to the final control and evaluation of knowledge acquisition in microbiology of the students at medical faculty. The usage of integrated assessment of knowledge in the discipline “Microbiology, virology, immunology” is introduced as an experiment, which involves the introduction of test control as a separate component of the oral test. This methodological approach allows to level out certain shortcomings of the oral examination and testing as separate methods of final control and more objectively evaluate the acquired knowledge of the discipline. On the basis of the analysis of the examination results, it can be concluded that the assessment of the student's educational activity during the course of the study of the discipline correlates with the results of the oral final test, and the results of the test control exceed 5–9% of the data of current progress and oral final control. The methodology of the complex estimation of the study final control of the discipline is a positive investigation, which allows to estimate more objectively the achieved learning outcomes, stimulates students to work independently, performing individual tasks, studying situational tests, developing communicative, professional skills, and allows to avoid the drawbacks of various forms of control by means of rating assessment of the discipline.

Web 2.0 applications emphasize the end-user involvement to provide the content. In this new scenario, an easy to use and a highly interactive user interface (UI) is a key requirement in order to appeal the end-user. The main objective of this chapter is to introduce a model-driven engineering process to create rich Internet applications (RIA) that address the requirements that a Web 2.0 application must fulfill. To achieve this goal, an interaction model made up of two complementary models is proposed: On the one hand, an abstract interaction model, which clearly defines the interactions between the user and the system and on the other hand, a concrete RIA interaction model that specifies the semantics needed to accurately define RIA for the Web 2.0 domain. Both models are introduced inside a model-driven code generation process with the aim of producing a fully functional Web 2.0 application. To illustrate the contribution of this chapter, the approach is applied in a case study related to the Web 2.0 domain.

Model-driven software engineering (MDE) has the basic assumption that the development of software systems from high-level abstractions along with the generation of low-level implementation code can improve the quality of the systems and at the same time reduce costs and improve time to market. This chapter provides an overview of MDE, state of the art approaches, standards, resources, and tools that support different aspects of model-driven software engineering: language development, modeling services, and real-time applications. The chapter concludes with a reflection over the main challenges faced by projects using the current MDE technologies, pointing out some promising directions for future developments.
