The quality of energy has been defined to control harmonics caused by non-linear loads and international standards were brought to overcome the harmonic related problems. In determining the power quality, parameters like current-voltage harmonic, transient, flicker, current and voltage imbalance between phases, K factor are examined according to these international standards. The biggest disadvantage of harmonics is that they do not affect the power quality over an individual network but also affect the entire energy system primarily neighbouring facilities. Therefore, the energy system of Opium Alkaloids Plant was examined by using measurements information of current and voltage harmonics affecting the energy quality. And, it has been determined that the harmonics have a negative impact on energy quality. According to these findings, it has been proposed to install a well-designed filter for elimination of harmonics. Besides, it has been emphasised that new hardwares and devices should be chosen to support this harmonic filtering system in the future.

The quality of electrical power is a common condition that describes the characteristics of the parameters of electrical quantities. This study aims to determine the power quality profile that includes current, voltage, active power , reactive power , apparent power, frequency , harmonic current and voltage harmonics. Power quality profile is done by measuring for 24 hours to determine the characteristic qualities of the object of research in Balai Latihan Pendidikan Teknik (BLPT) Yogyakarta. Measurements were taken at each of output transformer 250 kVA at BLPT Yogyakarta . Based on the measurement results , the total peak load for loading in BLPT Yogyakarta is 129.242,45 VA or equal to 51.70% of the installed transformer capacity. The most prominent conditions of measurement results are any indication of the current flow in the neutral wire is high enough, ie 103,05 amperes, which will impact on the value of the energy loss in the neutral wire and losses in the transformer.

Wind energy system is lately receiving a lot of attention, because they are cost inexpensive, environmental safe and clean renewable energy source, as compared with nuclear and fossil fuel power generation. The operational characteristics of wind electric turbines has considerable dissatisfaction and stress on the quality of electric power system. Harmonics, variations of voltage and reactive power are most of power quality issues for grid connected with wind turbine. This paper introduces a design and simulation of unified power quality conditioner using a fuzzy controller to improve the power quality for Egyptian power grid connected to Zafarana Egypt wind system. The proposed performance of the unified power quality conditioner system is verified by simulating the model using MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The simulation results showed that the proposed unified power quality conditioner provide efficient cancellation of both load current  harmonics  and supply voltage sag in addition to compensation of reactive power, and thus making the electrical grid connected wind energy system more efficient by improving the quality of power.

In an Electrical system, Power Quality (PQ) is becoming significant to all types of consumers. With the increase of power demand from end users, maintaining the quality of power within the limitations is a major problem. In this paper, harmonic analysis in a grid connected three phase induction motor is tested according to PQ international standards which are found in the International Electro technical Commission (IEC). These mentioned standards are maintained in the transmission line and fed to the induction motor through a regenerative grid simulator. With the results obtained, execution of this fuzzy control system can be investigated through the digital simulation, which is based on MATLAB-SIMULINK package. It provides human operands to constitute a knowledge base which is used for diagnosing power quality and capable of predicting abnormal operation in Industries.

Since last decade, due to advancement in technology and increasing in the electrical loads and also due to complexity of the devices the quality of power distribution is decreases. A Power quality issue is nothing but distortions in current, voltage and frequency that affect the end user equipment or disoperation; these are main problems of power quality so compensation for these problems by DPFC is presented in this paper. The control circuits for DPFC are designed by using line currents, series reference voltages and these are controlled by conventional Neuro-Fuzzy controllers. The results are observed by MATLAB/SIMULINK model.

The effects of diet type (wheat- or maize-based) and concentration of available phosphorus (AP; about 4, 3 and 2 g/kg) on the parameters of hen performance and egg quality as well as shell calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) contents were examined. Two experiments were carried out in which 240 and 120, respectively, older ISA Brown hens were housed in enriched cages. The interaction of diet type and AP concentration was ascertained for all evaluated characteristics except the amount of Ca and P deposited in shells in the first experiment. In the second experiment, the interaction of diet type and AP concentration was found for feed intake, egg weight, shell thickness and weight as well as the albumen quality parameters. Furthermore, Ca deposition in shells increased (P < 0.001) with the wheat diet. Hens fed a maize-based diet (P < 0.001) laid heavier eggs. The highest level of AP (4.1 g/kg) in the wheat-based diet significantly (P < 0.001) decreased albumen height, albumen index and Haugh units (HU). These trends were the same in both experiments. The results indicate that 0.27% AP in wheat-based diet and 0.30% AP in maize-based diet are adequate for hens with the intake 115 g of feed with 3.5% of Ca without a negative impact on performance or egg quality.

Power quality (PQ) has become a more important issue recently due to the use of more sophisticated and sensitive equipment. Medical devices, telecommunication servers and equipment, manufacturing and domestic appliances rely on a good supply of power. This paper presents the review of the power quality in power system. Power quality has always been important for customers, but with increasing applications of electronic loads and controllers sensitive to the power quality, the subject has attracted renewed interest in recent times. Power quality encompasses several aspects: harmonics, over voltage, flicker voltage sags and swells interruptions etc. A major factor contributing to the importance of the quality of power is the deregulation of the power industry. Customers will demand higher levels of power quality to ensure the proper and continued operation of sensitive equipment and processes.

Grid connected Wind energy conversion system uses power Electronic converters hardly in fixed speed systems except for reactive power compensation. This Power Electronic converter causes major electrical losses and affects power quality of the system. The quality of the voltage and current is also affected by sensitive loads which are used widely in most of Automated Industries and Research laboratories. Disturbances in waveforms occurs which results in harmonics. To improve such power quality problem of the system DVR which is based on fuzzy logic technique is introduced. The system is tested for conventional technique and also with fuzzy logic. The performance is investigated through MATLAB/SIMULINK software. The simulation results confirm the superior performance of the proposed DVR based fuzzy logic technique than conventional technique. The proposed system reduces harmonics as well as mitigates voltage sag/swell.

The impact of wind technology on power quality for a distribution system is emphasized in this paper. The Power Quality of a Distribution system depends on voltage and Frequency quality. The pros of integrating the wind turbine to the system are loss reduction and voltage profile improvement but the cons of adding renewable energy to the distribution system are represented in this paper. such as voltage unbalance, flicker, power factor, and the impact of voltage and current harmonics are measured. The performed analysis results indicated the importance of the integration of DG based on Power quality Parameters.

In this work, a set of physical, chemical and biological parameters were analysed for Khirisan river from the period extending from December 2017up to November 2018. The samples were selected from three different sites, agricultural, commercial and residential area to assess the water quality of the river for drinking and irrigation purposes. The study showed that a number of diversity factors were recognized which have a direct effect on the quality of Khirisan river. This includes the catchment feeding area of the river, untreated domestic sewage from the restaurants, cafeterias and government buildings which are adjacent to the river. Water quality of Khirisan river, according to the Iraqi and international standards, satisfies the limits of the rules of the drinking purposes for all studied parameters except the values of calcium ions and total hardness value for some rainy months as well as to organic load. The mean values of BOD5 and COD for the three sites were 7.7 and 36 mg/l. In terms of irrigation purposes, the water quality of the river can be considered low to medium damage in terms of salinity and sodium hazards. In terms of chloride risk, there are no toxicity problems to the roots and leaves of the plants. Therefore, it requires a continual intensive water quality monitoring program to reduce its impact.
