Various emerging concepts influence logistics management as scholars are developing the body of knowledge. So also, the progress and the multidisciplinary aspect of knowledge that has been influencing logistics management has changed the way scholars and researchers think about logistics as an arena of application. This, in turn, influences the logistics practices. There has been an incredible shift in organizations towards an inter-disciplinary approach where all functions of an organization interact towards the achievement of organizational objectives. This shift, therefore, calls for logistics to adapt to the emerging concepts in order to contribute meaningfully to the overall goals of the organizations. Hence, adopting a grounded theory approach with in-depth literature review this article endeavors to discuss the application of systems thinking the approach to logistics management.

Assuming the role of caregiver for a life partner after critical illness can be both a rewarding and challenging experience for spouses. Using a grounded theory approach, Ågård, Egerod, Tønnesen, and Lomborg developed a theoretical model describing the experience from spouse to caregiver and back. To further develop this theoretical model, a literature review was completed and nursing interventions were identified and included in the model. Testing of this theoretical model is recommended to determine its empirical adequacy.

This paper describes a piece of research intended to establish user preferences for the design of virtual worlds for information retrieval, and reflects critically on the methodology adopted. Over 100 students and staff at Robert Gordon University were interviewed, in three cycles of literature review, interview, development and testing. A grounded theory approach was taken, in order to reach conclusions based on user experiences, rather than on the literature. Findings were that preferences appear to be based on affective, rather than structural, criteria, the most influential being familiarity, quality, representation, mediation, etc. The effectiveness of the grounded theory approach in this piece of research is evaluated, with particular regard to the typical criticisms to which such an approach is subject. It is concluded that there is value in the approach, but the limitations of the approach are acknowledged, and strategies to reduce the effect of these are discussed.

Adopting DevOps means increased collaboration between development and operations teams and faster release cycles through a shift to automation. Using Dev Ops brings with it several advantages in the development of software. Security, however, is often neglected in DevOps due to the fast release cycle. Therefore Dev Sec Ops has emerged as an extension to DevOps that attempts to integrate security with Dev Ops practices, which is not without its challenges. DevOps, and by extension Dev Sec Ops, represents a significant change in the culture, tooling, and processes used in software development. Therefore, when implementing DevSecOps, teams and their organizations need to be aware of the challenges it brings and how to address those challenges for a DevSecOps implementation to be effective. Literature on DevSecOps exists that outlines practices and principles to do this. This paper uses a grounded theory approach to do a systematic literature review of academic literature to find the factors that contribute to an effective DevSecOps implementation. It attempts to reconcile the challenges of DevSecOps with ways of mitigating them and the advantages that a DevSecOps implementation can bring. The paper thus outlines methods of effectively implementing DevSecOps as described in academic literature.

Growing importance of CSR is making the industry, governments, policy makers and international associations seriously view the issue of corporate social responsibility (CSR) with an aim to link sustainability for the organizations, sector and economy. Hence, more and more of them are entering the arena of setting guidelines on reporting CSR initiatives. Banking is no exception. Through in-depth literature review and grounded theory approach, this article delves into the CSR initiatives by Bank Windhoek, and the multi-pronged approach adopted in developing sustainable strategy in its pursuit and endurance to be a frontrunner in the Namibian banking sector.

The aim of this paper is to discusse the concept of a marriage agreement in the Compilation of Islamic Law. This study is literature review research with a qualitative methods. The  data was gathered through content analysis and written material. Data analysis was analyzed using grounded theory approach and thematic building. The result of research shows basically, there is no difference between the Marriage Law and the Islamic Law Compilation regarding the marriage agreement. Second, the legal consequences of the marriage agreement made by each party—husband and wife, are binding. Therefore, if a violation occurs, each party can take legal action.

The target study explores whether evaluations of the same piece of music differ under two distinct listening conditions: listening to a piece described either as an improvisation or as a preexisting composition. Participants (N = 16) in the two conditions listened to the same musical piece and provided verbal evaluative judgements. The author used a grounded theory approach to analyze listeners' responses, reporting different listening experiences in the two groups. The findings provide unique insights to enable a greater understanding of the nature of the aesthetics of improvisation. In this commentary, I first discuss the strengths of the article, followed by methodological considerations and suggestions for future research. I then present a short literature review and discussion of what I consider the most relevant topic in relation to this study, namely, the effects of contextual information on subjective evaluations.

The objective of research is to develop a technology acceptance model in order to judge performance of travel booking apps using grounded theory approach. The variables of the model are then tested using quantitative data. Initially qualitative data was collected through structured interviews and it was subjected to three levels of coding, i.e. open coding, axial coding and selective coding which is called the grounded theory approach. The concepts generated from coding were then integrated into a model. The research is useful for travel aggregators in order to enhance consumer experience in using travel apps. The important contribution to the body of knowledge is development of the model using grounded theory approach which has not been done in any previous research.

An entrepreneur is a person who initiates and establishes an enterprise. Entrepreneurship refers to the decisions one takes in setting up and running a new enterprise. The individual constitutes the most important element in entrepreneurship. This individual who decides to be an entrepreneur can be a “HE” or “SHE.” So though the word “Entrepreneur” does not discriminate between genders, yet there is an underlying thread which is of interest to researchers and practitioners alike to study “women entrepreneurship.” Because of the economic restructuring and societal acceptance more women have started establishing enterprises. Being women for whom the social barriers are now breaking and acceptance coming, one should say that women entrepreneurship is in its infancy and transitionary period. Due to this fact, it has its own unique facets. Based on in depth literature review and grounded theory approach, this chapter intends to explore factors which influence women entrepreneurship and provide contemporary perspectives on women entrepreneurship in the Indian context.

Traditional knowledge related to medicinal plants of the indigenous people is a valuable asset to the community and could potentially bring economic returns to them if it is utilized appropriately. While much of the existing researches have been focused on documenting the knowledge, not much however, has been made known on the ‘holistic’ practice of the knowledge at the community level particularly in the Malaysian context. This is an important aspect as documenting the knowledge alone would not bring any meaning if the knowledge itself is not sustainably practiced by the communities who hold the knowledge. However, it is not an easy task to understand the management aspect of the knowledge especially if the researcher comes from a ‘different world view’ that the indigenous people themselves. This study is an attempt to combine two methodologies namely ethnographic approach as data gathering method and the principles of grounded theory approach as data analysis in understanding how the traditional knowledge related to medicinal plants is being protected by the indigenous people. Using the Orang Asli Batek in Kuala Koh, Gua Musang, Kelantan as a case study, this research involved multiple prolonged stays with the community (2013-2016) and employed ethnographic techniques of individual and group interviews, observation and participant observation as well as document analysis to gather the data. The collected data was analysed using the principles of grounded theory where all responses that were recorded in verbatim was organised and analysed in stages of coding such as ‘initial coding’, ‘selective coding’ and ‘theme’ which upon further analysis, had enabled the description of the characteristics of the traditional knowledge related to medicinal plants of the Bateks. The result of this study found that the combination of the two methodologies are indeed useful and in fact are complementary with each other in understanding the characteristics of the traditional knowledge related to medicinal plants of the Bateks of Kuala Koh as part of the indigenous community in the country. In particular, employing the two methods has enabled the study to identify the characteristics (forms) of the TK that can be found in an indigenous community such as the Bateks of Kuala Koh. This research has provided a greater understanding on the existing state of protecting the TK being practiced by the Bateks. The study also provides useful contribution to the body of knowledge as the methodological approach used could be employed by future researches in understanding similar approach in understanding similar phenomena.
