Renewable energy, such as solar and wind, has been increasing in popularity for over a decade. This is especially true in rural, underdeveloped areas, and urban households that desire energy independence. Renewable energy sources, such as solar, provide enhanced environmental benefits while simultaneously minimizing the carbon footprint. One popular technology that can capture solar energy is solar panels. The demand for solar panels has been on the rise due to increases in energy conversion efficiency, long-term financial advantages, and contributions to decreasing fossil fuel usage. However, solar panels need a steady supply of sunlight. This can be challenging in many situations, geographies, and environments. This paper uses multiple machine learning (ML) algorithms that can predict future values of solar radiation based on previously observed values and other environmental features measured without the use of complex equipment with methods that are computationally efficient so that forecasting can be done on consumer premises.

These days, people have been talking a lot about renewable energy. The world is growing too dependent on non-renewable energy, such as fossil fuel, natural gas, oil and coal. There needs to be another idea to be green and environmentally friendly. And with the use of renewable energy source, the world can be a better place. These renewable energy sources can be used for hundreds of years without hurting the environment. There has been much research going on in science labs and farms across the country, so these sources are always evolving into better and better things. The sources are almost limitless, but there are some common ones. The most widely used heating installations in current technologies are based on burning fossil fuel but we should take in consideration that health policies nowadays are directed towards lowering the use of this kind of fuel. This paper presents the processes of designing and development of a heating system that uses entirely solar energy. The heating system consists of two parts. The first part consists of a photovoltaic solar panel made from 36 photovoltaic cells capable of developing 65 W and 3.6 A. The second part is made of recycled materials (aluminum cans), forming radiant tubes.

The present article deals with the issue of renewable energy sources for the development needs of Čakanovce municipality in terms of solar, geothermal, and biomass energy which are available for this region. Using renewable energy is viewed not only in the context of environmental benefits, but also in the context of further socio-economic development of communities and an increase of its energy independence. The analysis of the solved problems was based on relevant data on the possibilities of using different types of renewable energy in relation to supporting the development of Olšava-Kecerovce region which also includes Čakanovce. Choice of the most appropriate types of renewable energies to promote further development of Čakanovce municipality was based on proportionately index method, according to pre-defined decision-making factors.

Over 90% of Uganda's power is generated from renewable sources. Standardised Implementation Agreements and Power Purchase Agreements create a long-term relationship between Generating Companies and the state-owned off-taker guaranteed by Government. The COVID-19 pandemic and measures to curb the spread of the virus have triggered the scrutiny and application of force majeure (FM) clauses in these agreements. This article reviews the FM clauses and considers their relevance. The authors submit that FM clauses are a useful commercial tool for achieving energy justice by ensuring the continuity of the project, despite the dire effects of the pandemic. Proposals are made for practical considerations for a post-COVID-19 future which provides the continued pursuit of policy goals of promoting renewable energy sources and increasing access to clean energy, thus accelerating just energy transitions.

In this study we aimed to determine the extent to which changes in the share of renewable energy sources, their structural complex, and the level of energy security in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA) countries in the medium- and long-term are interconnected. The study was performed through modeling and determination of the structural characteristics of energy security in the countries. The methodology of the approach to modeling was based on solving the problem of nonlinear optimization by selecting a certain scenario. For the study, the data of EECCA countries were used. The ability of EECCA countries to benefit from long-term indirect and induced advantages of the transformation period depends on the extent to which their domestic supply chains facilitate the deployment of energy transformation and induced economic activity. This study provides an opportunity to assess the degree of influence of renewable energy sources on the level of energy security of countries in the context of energy resource diversification. The high degree of influence of renewable energy sources on energy security in the EECCA countries has been proven in the implementation of the developed scenarios for its increase. Energy security is growing. At the same time, its level depends not only on an increase in the share of renewable sources but also on the structure of energy resources complex of countries, and the development of various renewable energy sources. Therefore, today the EECCA countries are forced not only to increase the share of renewable energy sources but also to attach strategic importance to the structural content of their energy complex.

AbstractAs demand for renewable energy grows, so does the need for an improved understanding of renewable energy sources. Paradoxically, the climate change mitigation strategy of fossil fuel divestment is in itself subject to shifts in weather patterns resulting from climate change. This is particularly true with solar power, which depends on local cloud cover. However, because observed shortwave radiation data usually span a decade or less, persistent long-term trends may not be identified. A simple linear regression model is created here using diurnal temperature range (DTR) during 2002–15 as a predictor variable to estimate long-term shortwave radiation (SR) values in the northeastern United States. Using an extended DTR dataset, SR values are computed for 1956–2015. Statistically significant decreases in shortwave radiation are identified that are dominated by changes during the summer months. Because this coincides with the season of greatest insolation and the highest potential for energy production, financial implications may be large for the solar energy industry if such trends persist into the future.

The aim of the manuscript was to present the collective results of research on the profitability of using various renewable sources in Poland with the greatest development potential. In the paper, the economic parameters of various investment projects were determined and calculated, i.e., Net Capital Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and the Period of Return on Invested Capital (PBT). The economic assessment of the use of RES technologies was supplemented with the assessment of environmental benefits. The ecological criterion adopted in the study was the assessment of the potential and costs of reducing greenhouse gas emissions as a result of replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy technologies. On the basis of the constructed economic model to assess the profitability of investments, it has been shown that the analyzed projects will start to bring, depending on their type and technical specification, measurable economic benefits in the form of a reduction in the amount of energy purchased on an annual basis and environmental benefits in the form of reduction of carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere. Moreover, the calculations show a high potential for the use of certain renewable sources in Poland, which contributes to the fulfillment of energy and emission obligations towards the EU. The analyzes and research of the Polish energy market with the use of the presented models have shown that the project is fully economically justified and will allow investors to make a rational decision on the appropriate selection of a specific renewable energy source for their investment. The presented economic models to assess the profitability of investments in renewable energy sources can be successfully used in other countries and can also be a starting point for a discussion about the direction of energy development. Due to the lack of collective, original and up-to-date research on the domestic market, the manuscript provides the reader with the necessary knowledge regarding the legitimacy of using renewable energy sources, investment and environmental profitability.

The article is devoted to the issues of the functioning and development of energy in each country, caused mainly by the economic expediency of renewable energy and the requirements of energy independence. Also, the article examines the importance of replacing traditional fuels with alternative energy sources. The international experience of the countries in the field of efficient use of available natural resources of the fuel and energy complex and enhancement of the potential of the energy sector have been analyzed. A number of common characteristics and directions of energy efficiency improvement for European countries are highlighted. Alternative types of energy and measures necessary for their implementation have been offered. The potential resources of renewable energy sources have been analyzed. The article is devoted to the use of economical and ecological type of fuel - biofuel for Ukraine. On the basis of the analysis of the situation on the energy market, renewable energy is examine, which plays a compensatory role in global energy consumption in the conditions of growing exhaustion of non-renewable sources.
