Exploring the Effectiveness of Seller Reputation Mechanism Using Online Sales Data

This paper attempts to explore the effectiveness of the seller reputation mechanism by an empirical study using online sales data collected from TaoBao.com. A comparison analysis of seller reputation metrics of TaoBao, Amazon, and jd are carried out before the selection of the seller reputation metrics. The seller reputation metrics of small appliances are used as the input for the study considering the quality homogeneity among different sellers of the market, and the sales performance is measured by the sales amount of the recent month. The univariate analysis are performed to find out the effect of different seller reputation metrics on the sales performance, and the attribute selection technique is then applied to reveal the most significant factors contributing to the sales performance. The result indicates the significance of the user subjective assessment on the sales performance.

Wagner's leitmotifs were intentionally constructed as compact, discrete musical units charged with extramusical meaning. Should they be considered merely as arbitrary signifiers, whose signifieds are discovered only through the dramatic context of their appearance? The research reported here rejects this possibility, demonstrating experimentally that the leitmotifs bear inherent meaning. It is this meaning that grants them their communicative potential and provides a basis for the specific message given them in the setting of the specific musical work. A selection of nine representative leitmotifs from Wagner's Ring cycle was played to subjects during the course of a two-part experiment. The first part, which was designed on the basis of the semantic differential technique, yielded several significant factors that defined an inclusive connotative space. The second part of the experiment was designed and evaluated according to the "semantic integral" method, which was developed for the purpose of adding a denotative dimension, using titles given to the leitmotifs by the subjects. The results substantiated the existence of complementary relations between the connotative and denotative aspects of the leitmotifs. Findings of this sort should assist in explaining how the leitmotifs function within the dramatic context. The methods applied, as well as the findings arrived at, disclose, we believe, essential characteristics of the semantic structure of music in general.

<span lang="IN">Determinant of the selection of long-term contraceptive methods on family planning acceptors in Pedamaran community health center. </span><span lang="EN"> The population problem faced by Indonesia is a large population with a low quality of life. Uncontrolled population rate will cause baby booming so information needs to be disseminated about the benefits of family planning (FP). Long-term contraceptive method has a high level of effectiveness and can reduce the rate of population growth. </span><span lang="EN">This study aim to determine the factors that affect the selection of long-term contraceptive methods in active family planning acceptors.</span><span lang="EN">This study used a cross-sectional study design and using</span><span lang="IN"> simple random sampling</span><span lang="EN"> technique, consisted of 243 acceptors. Analyzes of data were univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using chi-square test with α = 0.05 and 95% confidence interval value, and multivariate analysis using binary logistic regression.</span><span lang="EN">Based on multivariate analysis was the variables significantly related to the selection of long-acting contraception include </span><span lang="IN">age (p = 0.01; OR = 2,24; 95% CI: 1,17-4,29), education (p = 0.01; OR = 0,31; 95% CI: 0,13-0,75) and number of children (p = 0.03; OR = 2; 95% CI: 1,05-3,81).</span><span lang="EN"> Thus, age was the variable that had the greatest impact on determining the selection of long-acting contraception.</span><span lang="IN">The </span><span lang="EN">acceptors with ≥ 35 years old, low educated and have &gt;2 children more likely to choose long-acting contraception. It is hoped that family planning workers can educate and persuade people of all ages with </span><span lang="IN">different educational backgrounds so total fertility rate can be reduce.</span>

Testing on an application aims to check whether a program is running properly so that the program created will be a program that has good quality. The testing technique consists of Whitebox Testing and Blackbox Testing which are widely used by examiners is appropriate. Study the software that will be examined using Blackbox Testing is a best sales selection system consisting of 1 form that will be filled with sales data, as well as sales performance while in the company. The Best Sales Selection Application will be tested using Blackbox Testing where this test only aims to look the program is the same with the function desired by program without knowing the program code used. Types of testing of the various Blackbox methods one of which is the Equivalence Partitions used by the authors in this study. Equivalence Partitions technique is a test based on entering data on each form in the best sales selection system, each menu input will be tested and grouped according to function whether it is valid or invalid. So it is expected that with this test is the quality of the software produced in accordance with the expected function, and can provide benefits for the company.

Reputational concerns are believed to play a crucial role in explaining cooperative behaviour among non-kin humans. Individuals cooperate to avoid a negative social image, if being branded as defector reduces pay-offs from future interactions. Similarly, individuals sanction defectors to gain a reputation as punisher, prompting future co-players to cooperate. But reputation can only effectively support cooperation if a sufficient number of individuals condition their strategies on their co-players' reputation, and if a sufficient number of group members are willing to record and transmit the relevant information about past actions. Using computer simulations, this paper argues that starting from a pool of non-cooperative individuals, a reputation system based on punishment is likely to emerge and to be the driver of the initial evolution of cooperative behaviour. However, once cooperation is established in a group, it will be sustained mainly through a reputation mechanism based on cooperative actions.

AbstractConfigurators have been generally accepted as important tools to elicit customers' needs and find the matches between customers' requirements and company's offerings. With product configurators, product design is reduced to a series of selections of attribute values. However, it has been acknowledged that customers are not patient enough to configure a long list of attributes. Therefore, making every round of configuring process productive and hence reducing the number of inputs from customers are of substantial interest to academic and industry alike. In this paper, we present an efficient product configuration approach by incorporating Shapley value, which is a concept used in game theory, to estimate the usefulness of each attribute in the configurator design. This new method iteratively selects the most relevant attribute that can contribute most in terms of information content from the remaining pool of unspecified attributes. As a result from product providers' perspective, each round of configuration can best narrow down the choices with given amount of time. The selection of the next round query is based on the customer's decision on the previous rounds. The interactive process thus runs in an adaptive manner that different customers will have different query sequences. The probability ranking principle is also exploited to give product recommendation to truncate the configuration process so that customers will not be burdened with trivial selection of attributes. Analytical results and numerical examples are also used to exemplify and demonstrate the viability of the method.

The paper aspires at discovering the most indispensable factors persuading customer reactions and purchasing commodities after observing online advertisements of social media and recognizing the distinctiveness of clusters of Purchaser having the optimistic reaction, over and above of buying customer clusters after analyzing online advertisement in social media. The selection of attribute and clustering techniques are incorporated in the analysis of data to find significant factors and target customer clusters correspondingly through data mining approach. It has been identifies that there is a strapping correlation between the advertisement being clicked on social media and the fulfillment with commodities, and amidst purchasing commodities online and saving information for supplementary deliberations. The findings also points out the characteristics of product and price Conscious clusters for Purchasers' reaction and procuring after seeing online social media advertisement.

The paper presents a short characteristic of an off-grid zone in the eastern regions of the Russian Federation. The main problems of power supply to consumers in this zone are described, and possible options for solving them are provided. A methodological approach and model tools to estimate the efficiency of alternative options of power supply to off-grid consumers are described. The factors affecting the selection of a rational option of power supply in the off-grid zone are classified. We show the interconnection between the main significant factors (availability of grid infrastructure, local fuel resources, complexity of fuel delivery logistics, characteristics of accessible power-generating equipment, and environmental constraints) and their impact on economic indicators of alternative options. Based on the systematized results of long-term studies, we present a scheme designed to select a rational option of power supply to a particular off-grid consumer according to characteristics of the described factors. Machine translation is used in many applications in everyday life. Due to the increase of translated documents that need to be organized as useful or not (for building a translation model), the automated categorization of texts (classification), is a popular research field of machine learning. This kind of information can be quite helpful for machine translation. Our parallel corpora (English-Greek and English-Italian) are based on educational data, which are quite difficult to translate. We apply two state of the art architectures, Random Forest (RF) and Deeplearnig4j (DL4J), to our data (which constitute three translation outputs). To our knowledge, this is the first time that deep learning architectures are applied to the automatic selection of parallel data. We also propose new string-based features that seem to be effective for the classifier, and we investigate whether an attribute selection method could be used for better classification accuracy. Experimental results indicate an increase of up to 4% (compared to our previous work) using RF and rather satisfactory results using DL4J.
