This paper focuses on knowledge management stressing an individual project manager’s point of view. First, the authors outline two knowledge management strategies as well as the notion of project manager. The authors concentrate on the project manager’s knowledge creation and communication using the so-called theatre metaphor for conscious experience. According to this metaphor, the human brain and consciousness work together like a theatre. With the help of the metaphor, the authors describe and attempt to understand important aspects of the project manager’s mental action in the above tasks.

Under Knowledge-based economy, knowledge has been recognized as a form of capital for organizations and provides sustainable competitive advantages. knowledge is not only one of the few recyclable assets that continuously lends itself to new intellectual capital but also be integrated in many different ways in order to maximize its value. This paper has three research objectives. Firstly, measure the effect of Knowledge Management (KM) Strategies on KM Enablers; secondly, measure the effect of KM Enablers on the Knowledge Creation Process (KCP); thirdly, to measure the effect of KCP on the three aspects of Organizational Performance. A knowledge integrative model was built by using Partial Least Squares method, and the findings indicate that KM Strategies do have a significant effect on KM enablers, which in turn does have a significant effect on the KCP. KCP also has a significant effect on innovation, customer’s satisfaction and financial performance for Taiwan multinational company in Thailand.

Some Western organizational studies scholars have proposed that Aristotelian Phronesisrepresents a way of including practical reason in research on business topics such as decision-making, knowledge management, ethics and leadership. Ikujiro Nonaka, a Japanese scholar with notable theoretical and practical contributions to knowledge creation in organizations and with extensive experience in Japanese corporations, has joined this group of academics. As an Eastern thinker, he takes on a Western classical tradition, namely the virtue of Phronesis, making an important contribution to the application of ethical notions to business practice, in this case knowledge management. To locate his conceptualization of Aristotelian practical wisdom, we briefly describe his theory of knowledge creation, pointing to phroneticleadership skills as essential drivers of knowledge creation in organizations. Furthermore, we assess Nonaka’s incorporation of practical rationality from the point of view of the Western classical tradition. To conclude, we discuss the scope and limits of the use of Phronesisin Nonaka´s contribution, and ultimately suggest that incorporating the will helps us to understand prudence as a virtue and not just as an intellectual habit.

For the competitive market, both talent management and knowledge management of employees are key primary resources in organizations. While it is well known that in today's emerging economy, intangible resources like knowledge and human capital seem as the soul of survival; few studies have examined the effect of external knowledge management and talent management strategies in Chinese manufacturing firms. This study tries to bridge this gap by examining the importance of external knowledge management and talent management, Moreover, how this consequence can affect in particular industry for the economic growth of China? Total 249 responses were collected through structured questionnaire from manufacturing organizations located in Shanghai and Suzhou, China. PLS-SEM techniques via Smart-PLS (3.2.4) software has been used to test and validate proposed model and the relationships among the hypothesized constructs. The findings of this study show that external knowledge management (E-KM) and talent management both contributes positively to the performance of manufacturing firms. Moreover, talent management as mechanism demonstrated strong mediation effects between E-KM and performance. In researchers' point of view and results revealed the evidence by linking E-KM with TM-OP and TM as a mechanism between E-KM and OP. Such insights may helpful for managers to target sustainable current and future growth of the organizations and also, to overcome the shortage of talented and qualified worker’s issues in fast-growing emerging economies.

It is known that "knowledge management" is associated with significant benefits which can empower organisations to get more competitive advantages in their market. Knowledge sharing and knowledge creation are the two vital aspects of knowledge management which play an important role in creating organisational value. The value-creation of knowledge depends on level of sharing knowledge and skills among people across the organisation. So, most companies are focussed on enhancing their capability of knowledge sharing to create new knowledge. The aim of this paper is to test empirically the degree of influence of different knowledge-sharing mechanisms on the knowledge creation capability of Iranian manufacturing industries. A question survey was administered to a sample of manufacturing industries operating in Iran to elicit opinions of the personnel on the relationship between knowledge sharing and knowledge creation. The questions were structured mostly based on Sa'enz et al. (2009) and Choi and Lee (2002) studies. More than 400 respondents from 16 organisations responded to the survey. A short training course was held in all sample firms separately to explain importance and applications of knowledge management for respondents. SPSS and LISREL software were utilised to analyse research data using Regression tests and structural equation modelling (SEM). Results obtained show that knowledge sharing has a positive influence on the knowledge creation in Iranian manufacturing industries. However, a meaningful relationship was observed between information technology and management processes and two constructs of knowledge creation. The main contribution of the paper is to provide empirical evidence about the impact of knowledge sharing on knowledge creation. Moreover, it reveals what the most effective knowledge-sharing mechanisms are for this purpose, and provides companies with some implications in order to shape their knowledge management strategies.

What is emphasised in this analysis is that the awareness of Gestalt by school principals and teachers can be utilisedfor implementing knowledge management strategies. Since one of the challenges to implement knowledgemanagement is lack of transparency and how to transform synergy into innovation as well, it is assumed thatGestalt-oriented approach will help this lack of transparency diminish, and that synergy can turn into innovation. This work also tries to get an organized representation of how teachers and managers can consciously apply Gestaltqualities at schools in conjunction with knowledge management. First, a broad definition of Gestalt theory in thefields of psychology (in accordance with Christian Von Ehrenfelsin and Weithermar) will be given. Then a very briefphilosophical depiction of Gestalt (by Heidegger) will be considered. After depicting the qualities of Gestalt, itssupposed values and conceptions will be brought into a couple of frameworks (represented in figures 1 & 2) amongteachers, managers, family and society. Finally, at the end of this analysis, it is suggested that knowledge can begained by Gestalt qualities and there can possibly no difference between knowledge creation and emergence ofGestalt at schools.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is explore the relative effectiveness of people-based and information technology-based knowledge management (KM) strategies as implemented by principals in Hong Kong schools to facilitate and sustain Lesson Study for teachers’ knowledge sharing and internalization. Design/methodology/approach Data from 184 principals in Hong Kong were collected by a cross-sectional quantitative survey. Confirmatory factor analysis and reliability tests have been used to examine the constructed validity and reliability of the instrument. A structural equation model was applied to confirm the predictive effect of people-based and information technology-based KM strategies on teachers’ knowledge sharing and internalization through Lesson Study. Findings Results show that people-based KM strategy predicts knowledge sharing and internalization by and among teachers. However, while information technology-based knowledge management strategies predict teachers’ knowledge sharing, they do not predict how effectively they internalize knowledge. Practical implications Cultivating communities of practice, professional learning communities and mentoring schemes in schools can nurture a knowledge-sharing culture to facilitate and sustain Lesson Study for teacher learning. Institutionalizing an information technology system can help teachers to retrieve, share and store the school’s explicit knowledge. Originality/value The paper not only suggests school management strategies and practices for school leaders to facilitate and sustain Lesson Study, but also brings a new research dimension, KM, to the research area.
