Background: To try out the feasibility of presenting the health status of children 6 to 12 years old by using radar plots. Methods: With data from the Health Oriented Pedagogical Project (HOPP) we have described the health status for 1340 children aged 6 to 12 years. We collected or calculated: stature, body mass, waist circumference, waist to height ratio, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and total cholesterol concentration, blood pressure, accelerometer assessed physical activity, endurance interval running performance, and quality of life. Pertinent variables were presented through a radar plot for both individual cases and groups. Results: The boys showed better endurance and recorded more moderate to vigorous physical activity than the girls. The activity level dropped from age 6 to age 12 for both sexes. The girls showed a lower systolic blood pressure compared with boys. Self-rated quality of life was high among boys and girls. Conclusions: This cohort showed good health and the radar plot made it easy to visualise health status for groups and individuals.

Hintergrund: Fortschritte in der Krebstherapie haben zur Verlängerung der Überlebenszeit geführt. Dennoch beeinträchtigen Tumorsymptome und Nebenwirkungen immer noch die körperliche Aktivität und Lebensqualität (LQ). Patienten und Methoden: Wir führten eine anonyme Umfrage unter Krebspatienten durch, die sich zu der Zeit einer Chemotherapie unterzogen. Dabei verwendeten wir standardisierte Fragebögen: den Freiburger Fragebogen zur körperlichen Aktivität und den EORTC-Fragebogen QLQ-C30 (EORTC = European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer). Zwei wichtige Fragen wurden untersucht: Gibt es Unterschiede 1) hinsichtlich der körperlichen Aktivität und LQ von Patienten, die nicht glauben, dass Sport ihre LQ verbessern könnte, und solchen, die dies glauben (Gruppe A vs. B), und 2) hinsichtlich der LQ von Patienten mit einer Gesamtaktivität (GA) von <18 MET-h/Woche (MET = metabolisches Äquivalent) und solchen mit einer GA von ≥18 MET-h/Woche (Gruppe C vs. D)? Ergebnisse: 276 von 400 Fragebögen wurden ausgefüllt. Die Gruppen A und B wurden in Bezug auf die Merkmale zu Studienbeginn ausbalanciert. Gruppe A litt signifikant häufiger unter Müdigkeit und Schmerzen; in Gruppe B waren höhere Werte für den allgemeinen Gesundheitsstatus (global health status; GHS) und die GA zu verzeichnen. Die Gruppen C und D unterschieden sich in Geschlechterverteilung, Alter und Bildungsgrad. Gruppe D wies signifikant höhere GHS-Werte auf; Gruppe C litt stärker unter Müdigkeit, Schmerzen und Appetitlosigkeit. Schlussfolgerung: Körperliche Aktivität korreliert bei Krebspatienten unter einer Chemotherapie mit einer höheren LQ. The present paper offers a theoretical insight regarding the quality of life and health state of people with mental deficiency. Research results regarding the link between physical activity and quality of life of people with mental disorders are discussed. Literature review outlined that physical activity generates major benefits for people with mental deficiency. Conclusions point out the need to implement physical activities that can be performed by people with mental deficiency to increase their quality of life. Public and private stakeholders should cooperate in order to develop specific strategies and policies, as well as adapted programs for people with mental deficiency to maintain their health status and quality of life at a decent level.

258 Background: Loss of lean body mass, body fat along with inflammation characterizes cachexia in patients with cancer. Nutrition intervention with counseling may ameliorate undernutrition and metabolic alterations. The aim of this study was to improve nutritional status and quality of life by providing nutrients dense natural food (IAtta) along with counseling. Methods: Female patients with cancerwith symptoms of cachexia were randomly distributed into placebo (n = 75) and intervention group (n = 75). Patients were recruited from the palliative clinic, Oncology department in AIIMS, New Delhi, India. In addition to nutritional counseling, patients were instructed to consume 100g nutritional supplement on daily basis with their normal dietary intake and for six months period. The intervention group received 100g of IAtta while placebo group received 100g of whole wheat flour. Body weight – BW; mid upper arm circumference - MUAC, physical activity level - PAL, quality of life – QoL domains and total body water (TBW) were assessed at baseline, three months and after six months. Study variables were analyzed using repeated-measures ANOVA and the Friedman test (P-value < 0.05; 95% confidence interval). Results: After 6 months,patients in group IAtta had significant improvement in PAL and QoL domain (global health status, p < 0.001 and fatigue, p = 0.001). Despite the decrease in BW from 43.3 ± 7.0 to 41.6 ± 5.7 Kg (p = 0.014), TBW and MUAC (p = 0.068) were maintained. Conversely, the QoL in placebo group did not improve (global health status, p = 0.74) neither their PAL. Moreover, significant increase in TBW (due to water retention) and BW (from 42.6±7.1 to 43.5±7.4 Kg, p = 0.001). Conclusions: Nutrition-sensitive approach (IAtta meal), along with nutrition counseling, improve quality of life and physical activity in female cachexia palliative patients with cancer. Objective: Effects of regular physical activity on the human health is an important factor for the life quality parameters. The present study aimed to determine effects of moderate aerobic exercise on the life quality and human health. Materials and Methods: There were three groups (competitive cyclists, recreational cyclists and control) who voluntarily participated in this study. The cyclists of the National Bicycle Federation who could continue trainings during the Corona virus pandemic (n: 50), cyclists of the amateur clubs (n: 50) and 50 sedentary adults (≥19 years) were enrolled (n:150). World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire Abbreviated Version - WHOQOL-BREF-TR was used to determine participants' life qualities. Results: Competitive cyclists trained for 13.33 (±7.24) hours per week and they had 4798 min/week MET values. Subgroup scores of WHQOL-BREF-TR (physical, psychological, social, environmental, national environment, general life quality and health) were found to be higher in competitive cyclists than others (recreational cyclists and sedentary adults). In addition, the values of competitive and amateur cyclists in the physical health level parameters were higher than the control group. Competitive cyclists had higher scores for psychological, social health and general life quality subgroups than others (p<0.05). Conclusion: The present study showed that if physical activity level increases, general health status and life quality increase. As a result of the study, it was found that moderate-intensity aerobic exercise (2600-4800 MET-min/week energy expenditure) between 7-13 hours a week supports the protection of general health and has positive effects on life quality. There is a need for future research to determine different exercise types, intensity, frequency and their effects on the general health status and life quality.
