Evaluating energy-saving effect plays an important role during the transformation on existing residential buildings for energy saving in cold area of north China. A relative index evaluation system of the energy efficiency in residential buildings is formed according to relevant energy-saving standards of the Ministry of Construction of China and the present situation in this area . Then a comprehensive evaluation model is built based on entropy and Unascertained Measure theory, and through an example to verify the applicability and feasibility of the model.

This paper introduces the present situation of existing residential building energy saving reconstruction of Anshan area, the result of the analysis is that the renovation of retaining structure is the key of the reconstruction of existing residential buildings of Anshan. Exterior wall area ratio of the total area of the building envelope accounts for quite large, so transformation of exterior wall is the key. Energy saving wall approach divided into external wall insulation and exterior insulation. Analysis of energy-saving measures by the external wall insulation, and the external wall of a residential district in Anshan city and analysis of thermal insulation and energy saving renovation case, better energy-saving effect, energy saving measures of external economy more external insulation, the region has provided the reference and basis transformation of external wall energy-saving residence building.

Windows energy saving design of residential buildings has increasingly got the attention of people. Through a large number of surveys and analysis of residential buildings in Chongqing and consumers personal experience, the author finds problems and deficiency, and then proposes principles of residential buildings sun shading reconstruction in Chongqing city. Taking the high-rise residential building of one university in Chongqing as reconstruction sample, selecting a specific time period, the author recalculates sun shading coefficient with and without sun shading by using Ecotect software to do simulation analysis. In this article, we mixed hollow glass beads with nano-TiO2 and iron oxide red in a certain proportion to prepare a low-brightness, high-reflective, safe, and durable cooling coating throughout the experiments. The coating is suitable for energy-saving in tropical areas. To discuss the energy saving effects of the coating on an exterior envelope in tropical areas, a comparative analysis for two scenario models of a two-story residential building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was conducted. The results indicated that the heat reflective insulation coating could reduce the exterior envelope surface temperature effectively, and the maximum temperature change was about 6–8 °C. Through calculations, it was found that the annual energy saving rate was 12.9%, which showed that the energy saving effect of the heat insulation coating was obvious in Kuala Lumpur. The brightness of the coating was less than 50%, and its comfort and safety met the requirements.

Firstly, this paper introduces the development of amorphous alloy transformer. According to the technical characteristics of amorphous alloy transformer and the application of Jiangsu power, the comprehensive evaluation about amorphous alloy transformer from the safety performance, the economic performance and the environmental impact are studied comparing with S11 type, S13 type and S15 type transformer. In the safety performance, overload capacity and over-excitation ability of amorphous alloy transformer is insufficient; in the economic performance, low no-load loss, high efficiency, energy saving effect of amorphous alloy transformer is obvious; in terms of environmental impact, the audible noise level of amorphous alloy transformer is higher than that of conventional transformer, and manufacturers need to study to reduce the noise level. Finally, the application recommends of amorphous alloy transformer is presented based on comprehensive evaluation.

Reasonable determination of indoor ventilation rates are the main content of residential ventilation designs, and can save consumption by air conditioners. Firstly, the energy saving potential of ventilation cooling technology in Guangzhou is analyzed in this paper. The cooling load of a residential building in Guangzhou with different air exchange rates is simulated by the DeST-h after indoor heating quantity of different rooms is set. The energy saving rate is analyzed, the functional relation between energy saving rate of ventilation and air exchange rate is obtained using the linear-regression analysis method. After a comprehensive consideration of various factors, including variation of energy efficiency, room volume, air outlet size, and that the maximum air exchange rates of different rooms are fixed.

The text elaborates on the significance and profile of insulation system for external wall of residential buildings in our country, makes comprehensive comparison among the external wall's self-insulation system, external wall's internal insulation system, sandwich composite insulation system and external wall's external insulation system, and reveals that the external wall's external insulation system has the advantage of strong feasibility, law cost, effective heat insulation break bridge and protective structure, which offers great potential for existing buildings in energy-saving rebuilding, thus finding a widest application and enjoying a promising market prospects.

The steel residential building has been widely used for its good seismic performances. In order to study the energy-saving behavior of the existing steel residential building, an on-site test on envelope structure of a typical steel building in cold region is conducted. Based on that, a simplified numerical model is established in which dynamic energy theories, solar radiations and indoor thermal disturbances are considered. The model is verified through testing data. Parameter analyses including 6 series sum up to 38 models are carried out on 6 main influential factors. The results show that improving thermal behavior of building envelope, adopting flexible sunshade schemes in different seasons, using even and simple building configuration and adopting different window-wall ratios for windows with different orientation are effective ways to decrease the energy consumption of buildings. The thermal design recommendations for steel residential buildings are also produced.

An energy saving residential building in Zhangjiakou was took as research object, which was designed and constructed according to the criterion of 65% energy saving of the third stage, utilizing simulation software Dest, which was developed by Qinghua University, energy consumption simulation and economic analysis were done to the building. The results show that compared with the former residence which was built according to the non-energy saving design, the implementation of new design standard for building energy saving can not only achieve better energy saving effect, but also its payback period is short, so the new design standard for building energy saving is worth spreading.
