In this paper, the pulse-induced acoustic sound in laser cutting is collected, and the data processing is performed with wavelet denoising and time-frequncy analyzing. The impact of laser processing parameters on the acoustic signal is discussed; and further analysis of the effect of cutting speed is conducted. The corresponding relationship between the best velocity and the maximum time-frequency energy density is got; also the plan of adaptive control in laser cutting is designed. The results in this paper can provide important parameters for adaptive control of laser cutting.

ABSTRACTLaser cutting and welding are well established industrial applications. To maintain productivity and to guarantee product quality the industry tries to introduce monitoring and control systems. The long term goal is the autonomous laser machine. Signal assessment is advancing by monitoring and simulation of the dynamical processes. Applying the advanced results about diagnosis and modelling broadens the potentials to cope with productivity and quality features in drilling, trepanning and fine cutting. As result, in cutting two mechanisms for the formation of adherent dross are revealed theoretically, identified by the monitoring system and can be avoided by modulation of the laser beam power. In welding, the dynamic model predicts the formation of pores sets in or is suspended depending on modulation frequency for the laser power. In drilling the mechanisms governing the maximum depth of the drilled hole – still showing efficient melt removal – are identified experimentally and can be related to the processing parameters theoretically

The article is related to the research of the parameters of vibroacoustic emission for development of the monitoring and adaptive control system for electrical discharge machining. The classical control system based on a response of electrical parameters does not give an adequate data in the cases of a new class of materials processing as conductive ceramics reinforced by conductive nano additives and carbon nanotubes and whiskers. The idle pulses, which are working on the destruction of the erosion products in the gap, count as working pulses. The application of the monitoring and control tools based on vibroacoustic emission gives adequate data about conditions in the working zone. The developed system is available to count only impulses involved in working on the destruction of the workpiece. The experiments were conducted on the samples of materials with a low melting point as austenitic steel and aluminum alloy, and hard alloys. The records of vibroacoustic signals were analyzed for detection of the monitoring and adaptive control criteria.

The mobile phone has become an indispensable mean of communication in the world today, and for teenagers specifically has become de rigueur in everyday life. The eagerness of teenagers to embrace mobile devices can be associated with such devices' instrumental as well as social and expressive functions. However, these functions are intertwined with critical impacts on the interaction between teenagers and parental/peer groups. On the one hand, the mobile phone acts as a symbolic “umbilical cord” that provides a permanent channel of communication, intensifying parental surveillance. On the other hand, it creates a greater space for interaction with peers beyond parental monitoring and control. This article summarizes current research and presents an empirical example of the impact of teenagers' mobile phone communication on the dynamics of parental and peer group interactions during their socialization and emancipation from the familial sphere.

Although visceral leishmaniasis disease is controlled overall in China, it remains a serious public health problem and remains fundamentally uncontrolled in Jiashi County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. During 2005–2015, there were two outbreaks in Jiashi County. Assessing the influence of meteorological factors on visceral leishmaniasis incidence is essential for its monitoring and control. In this study, we applied generalized estimating equations to assess the impact of meteorological factors on visceral leishmaniasis risk from 2005 to 2015. We also compared meteorological factors among years with Kruskal–Wallis test to explore possible reasons behind the two outbreaks that occurred during our study period. We found that temperature and relative humidity had very significant associations with visceral leishmaniasis risk and there were interactions between these factors. Increasing temperature or decreasing relative humidity could increase the risk of visceral leishmaniasis events. The outbreaks investigated might have been related to low relative humidity and high temperatures. Our findings will support the rationale for visceral leishmaniasis control in China.

The paper demonstrates four different polymer substrate microchannels are fabricated by CO2 laser machine. The four different polymer substrates are Polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA), Polycarbonate (PC), Polystyrene (PS) and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), respectively. A number of microchannels are obtained and all roughness is measured. The four different polymer substrate microchannels are processed with different processing parameters. Laser power is set from 4[Formula: see text]W to 32[Formula: see text]W and laser cutting speed is set from 5[Formula: see text]mm/s to 30[Formula: see text]mm/s. The results show the roughness of PS substrate microchannel is lower than that of other three polymer substrate microchannels at the same parameters. When laser power is below 4[Formula: see text]W, the roughness of four polymer substrates are similar. The roughness of different polymer substrate microchannels decreases with the increase of laser power. The roughness of different polymer substrate microchannels also happens to change with increase of laser cutting speed.

Article deals with design of adaptive control system for drilling process of aerospace critical components. The system proposed in this paper is directed towards real the time control of surface roughness parameter Ra. Proposed model for monitoring and control consists of surface roughness prediction system and decision making subsystem. The artificial neural network was employed to calculate surface roughness parameter Ra through of process monitoring indices such as torque Mz, force Fz, power P and cutting conditions feed f, cutting speed vc. Test samples were nickel based super alloy Udimet 720 used as a basic constructional material of discs for gas turbine engines.

The Directive 2009/30/EC and the Polish Act on the fuel quality monitoring and control system imposes a duty on the entities fulfilling the National Reduction Target NRT to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases to 6%. The reduction target of at least 6% can not be spread over the entire fuel market. It applies to every entity implementing the NRT separately. Member States, as well as the fuel market, are not responsible for not achieving the reduction target. This responsibility is limited to individual business entities implementing the NRT and concerns the fulfillment of the reduction target and the providing of the report on the implementation of the reduction target. It is necessary to carry out technical and economic analyses, the subject of which should be to answer the question of whether the entities realising the NRT are able to predict the potential amount of the fine that may be imposed on them based on art. 35c section 3 of the Act. 35c ust. 3 ustawy.
