Aiming at the problem of high energy consuming and failure rate on traditional AC contactor, the implement method of intelligent AC contactor is presented. The smart structures concept is introduced into the domain of AC contactor and the microcontroller C8051F040 is used as the control core. The intelligent AC contactor is a comprehensive system which assembles data acquisition and control, fault self-diagnosis and protection Function, etc. DC operation and on-line monitoring of the running state is also realized. Experiments show that the system has characteristics of low cost , accurate indication for running state and fault location, good protecting function, completely eliminating the noise and vibration operation, good performance in energy-saving , etc.

The quantity of official cars increased with the speed exceeding 20% every year which need much more energy be consumed to meet the official car needs. To investigate the energy saving potential of official cars in China, This paper introduced the strategy method with systemic viewpoint to reduce official cars energy consumption through analyzing the reason of high energy consuming of official cars. The resulted showed that only reduce the quantities and maintenance cost, and decline the displacement and using frequency can realize fuel efficiency of official cars.

Abstract Intermetallic Fe-Al compounds have become very interesting materials due to their properties, such as good corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, high resistance/weight ratios, creep resistance, good wear resistance, and low cost, including some applications where they could replace stainless steels. However, their low ductility at room temperature has limited their use. One of the solutions is to generate powders of these intermetallics and press them in the wished form. Current production methods of this type of powders are very high energy-consuming, polluting, and harmful for handling for human beings. Because of the environmental situation in our planet, it is necessary to develop more environmentally friendly processes, which have lower energy requirements. Therefore, a comparison of a novel water vapor-based FeAl powder manufacture process with Mechanical Alloying (MA), one of the most commonly used processes to produce this type of powder is made in this work. This comparison aims to focus on the advantages of the novel process concerning MA, the last one, considering environmental as well as energy criteria.

Railways are an energy-efficient mode of transportation. Even so, efforts are being made to attain even further energy savings. The latest train-car model of the Shinkansen bullet train, while achieving enriched functionality and improved performance, has attained a 49% energy reduction compared with the 0-series Shinkansen train-cars that debuted at the start of Shinkansen's operation. Also, in the underlying train control system, technologies that will lead to energy reduction have been developed. In order to achieve further energy savings and higher-performance train control, we are developing a new train control system known as Automatic Train Protection and Block System (sometimes referred to ATP-Block system here). This new control system produces a high energy-saving effect compared with conventional signal systems based on ground equipment. We believe that realization of low-cost, highly functional energy-saving Railways will bring back users of automobiles and airlines to Railways, contributing to global energy saving and helping to prevent environmental destruction.

Energy saving in manufacturing is the key to reduce energy consumption of unit GDP. Forming equipments are one of the biggest energy consumers. The basic reason of high energy consumption and low efficiency for current forming equipments is the mismatch between uncontrollable driving characteristics and the variable loads in forming processes. Complex transmission and control mechanisms are needed, wasting a lot of energy. The basic principles of driving were put forward to realize energy saving for forming equipments: faster in virtual strokes, slower in working strokes, stop when idling and recycling excessive energy. The servo driving based on large AC servo motors can make the driving and forming loads match each other well, realizing not only high automation and intelligence, but energy saving greatly as well. Theoretical analysis and experiments showed that by adopting AC servo driving the crank presses, hydraulic presses and screw presses could get the energy saving results of 25-70%.

One of the main ways to shape the competitiveness of an enterprise is to reduce production costs. A significant component of such costs are the costs of energy consumption. Therefore, the ability to control energy saving in the economic activity of the enterprise is a task of great importance. The development of energy-saving technologies, which are low-cost for this type of resource of energy-consuming machine systems, is conducted, as a rule, on a project basis, and the implementation of such projects must be carried out according to certain rules. An important principle is the need to determine the rational volumes of all types of resources attracted to the project. The solution to this problem is very difficult and time consuming. The use of economic and mathematical models of various classes can help reducing the risks and complexity of solving the problem. One of the promising types of design modeling of the development of both energy producing and energy consuming enterprises is S-modeling or modeling based on logistic dynamics. Today, undeservedly little attention is paid to this type of model. The proposed article presents methodological developments that can increase the interest in using this type of modeling in practice. Methods and models proposed in the work were tested on a really implemented project of organizational development, which increases their value.

At present, China's key oil and gas exploration and development was directed to heavy oil reservoirs and reservoirs in remote areas. As the main mechanical oil recovery equipment, pumping unit in general has some shortcomings in developing these kinds of reservoir, such as high energy consumption, short maintenance cycle, high cost of production management, and not suitable for remote area of harsh environment. In view of the deficiencies of the existing oil pumping unit, a new type of energy-saving pumping unit is designed with high efficiency and energy saving, stable and reliable, long pump inspection cycle, convenient maintenance and low-cost. It can fully meet the needs of production and maintenance for viscous oil wells and remote wells.

Silicon metal is known as a metalloid or semi-metal with several characteristics of metals. Silicon metal also has a large influence on the modern world economy. But the production of the silicon metal consumes high energy and discharges huge furnace fume. According to the technical demands of the fume cleaning and micro-silicon powder recovery system to the silicon metal furnace, this paper studies the control scheme with the structure mode of Schneider PLC and the Kingview software, develops the relevant control program and monitor program, and optimizes the control strategy through the on-line debugging. The practical application indicates that the control system is stable and reliable with the best effect of dust extraction and the longest service life to the dust settling bag.

As a traditional high energy-consuming industry, the forging industry consumes a lot of energy. The activity consuming the highest energy during forging process is the heating. The problem regarding how to separate workpieces with the same holding temperature and holding time and combine them for charging in forging was analyzed and a model based on batch weight fit rule for optimizing the charging combination with the goal of energy saving was proposed. A genetic algorithm was adopted to optimize and solve the model in order to reduce energy consumption in forging. In addition, an instance was given to prove the effectiveness of the proposed model.
