Aiming at the character of complexity and uncertainty on equipment maintenance support system, a method named equipment maintenance support simulation experiment was brought forward to study maintenance support problem based on exploratory analysis, which was applied to support decision-making about uncertain support scheme alternatives. The main characteristics of EMSSE were analyzed in detail, and the working flow was designed. Finally, in an example about warship maintenance support system simulation model which was set up, the optimal scheme of various storehouse inventory distributions for spare part was gotten. The optimization result was consistent with the basic principle under the three-echelon maintenance support pattern, and validates that EMSSE is feasible and reasonable to supply uncertain decision assistance for equipment support.

Equipment maintenance support simulation experiment (EMSSE) is a method of studying maintenance support problem about decision-making about uncertain support scheme alternatives. Aiming at the character of complexity and uncertainty on the warship equipment maintenance support system, a type of structure applied to the warship equipment maintenance support simulation system was brought forward to support EMSSE based on the functional demand of system, and the interface layer, running-time layer, and data layer were analyzed in detail , and the executing process was designed. Finally, a warship maintenance support simulation system (WMSSS) which was developed and realized based on system design, which was used to make an experiment. The result of simulation experiment validates that WMSSS is feasible and reasonable to supply uncertain decision assistance for warship maintenance equipment support.

The warship equipment maintenance support system is a complex system, which has uncertainty. Aimed at uncertain support scheme, the equipment maintenance support simulation experiment (EMSSE) is a method based on exploratory analysis (EA) and simulation. According to the characters of EA and the demand of EMSSE planning, an experiment framework (EF) based on EMSSE was put forward a experiment framework (EF) which makes the problem solved more flexibly because of being independent of the simulation model,, and the content was analyzed in detail. Finally, an example of warship maintenance support is introduced to explain application of EF and validate it feasible.

The reception of journalists at the Waspada Daily Medan always went through several rigorous selections before being determined to be accepted as journalists at the Waspada Medan Daily. There are several criteria that must be possessed by each participant as a condition for becoming a journalist in the Daily Alert Medan. To get the best participants, the Waspada Medan Daily needed a decision support system. Decision Support Systems (SPK) are part of computer-based information systems (including knowledge-based systems (knowledge management)) that are used to support decision making within an organization or company. Decision support systems provide a semitructured decision, where no one knows exactly how the decision should be made. In this study the authors applied the VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) as the method to be applied in the decision support system application. The VIKOR method is part of the Multi-Attibut Decision Making (MADM) Concept, which requires normalization in its calculations. The expected results in this study can obtain maximum decisions. Keywords: Journalist Acceptance, Decision Support System, VIKOR

Background: The German Cancer Aid set up a priority research programme with the intention to generate high-quality information based on evidence and to make this information easily accessible for health-care professionals and advisors, researchers, patients, and the general public. Summary: The Kompetenznetz Komplementärmedizin in der Onkologie (KOKON) received 2 funding periods within this programme. During the first funding period, KOKON assessed patients’ and health-care professionals’ informational needs, developed a consulting manual for physicians, developed an education programme for self-help groups, set up a knowledge database, and developed a pilot information website for patients. Funding period 2 continues with work that allows cancer patients and health-care professionals to make informed decisions about complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). For this aim, KOKON evaluates training programmes for physicians (oncology physicians, paediatric oncologists, and general practitioners) and for self-help groups. All training programmes integrate results from an analysis of the ethical, psychological, and medical challenges of CAM in the medical encounter, and the knowledge database is being extended with issues related to CAM for supportive and palliative care. Key Message: A Germany-wide collaborative research project to identify needs, provide information, foster communication, and support decision-making about CAM in oncology is being set up.

This chapter discusses a model that has been set up to assist small businesses in the decision-making processes associated with setting up a Web site by which they can interact with their customers. Specifically, the chapter addresses the use of a spreadsheet to support decision-making processes in relation to the level of capital needed to devote to the Web site and who should be used to develop it. The chapter describes the process followed, from the initial SWOT analysis used to collect information about the business to the decision-making process modelled in the spreadsheet.

AbstractCloud manufacturing represents a valuable tool to enable wide sharing of manufacturing services and solutions by connecting suppliers and customers in large-scale manufacturing networks through a cloud platform. In this context, with increasing manufacturing network size at global scale, the elevated number of manufacturing solutions offered via cloud platform to connected customers can increase the complexity of decision-making, resulting in poor user experience from a customer perspective. To tackle this issue, in this paper, an intelligent decision-making support tool based on a manufacturing service recommendation system (RS) is designed and developed to provide for tailored manufacturing solution recommendation to customers in a cloud manufacturing system. A machine learning procedure based on neural networks for data regression is employed to process historical data on user manufacturing solution preferences and to carry out the automatic extraction of key features from incoming user instances and compatible manufacturing solutions generated by the cloud platform. In this way, the machine learning procedure is able to perform a customer segmentation and build a recommendation list characterized by a ranking of manufacturing solutions which is tailored to the specific customer profile. With the aim to validate the proposed intelligent decision-making support system, a case study is simulated within the framework of a cloud manufacturing platform delivering dynamic sharing of sheet metal cutting manufacturing solutions. The system capability is discussed in terms of machine learning performance as well as industrial applicability and user selection likelihood.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to introduce a holistic decision support system based on condition-based maintenance which utilizes meteorological forecasting information to support decision-making process in services of wind power enterprises. Design/methodology/approach – A pilot conceptual system combining with meteorological information and operations management has been formulated in this study. The proposed system provides benchmarking to support decision making directly and indirectly basing on processing meteorological information and evaluating its impact on service operations. It collects meteorological data to predict failure probabilities in different areas which need corresponding maintenance service and schedule the optimal maintenance periods. In addition, it provides meteorological forecasting and decision support in case of extreme weather events (EWEs). Findings – The conceptual study shows that there is a connection between the meteorological conditions and failures, and it is feasible to make service decisions based on the predictions of weather conditions and their impacts to failures. Research limitations/implications – The research presented at the present phase is not much beyond a conceptual framework. The actual implementation and all possible related practical issues will be dealt with in future research. Practical implications – It helps decision makers to predict and identify possible categories of faults in wind turbine, make optimal service decisions to enhance the output performance of wind power generation, and take in advance emergency counteractions in case of EWEs. Originality/value – It presents a novel concept and provides a roadmap to achieve optimal operations in wind park application through combining meteorological information system with service decision making.

<span>Employees are one of the human resources that are very important in determining the success of the company's work. There fore the company must appoint employees into one of the positions according to the expertise desired by the company. There are still many managers to appoint their employees to only see how long they work without being supported by adequate expertise. So that the appointment of employees by managerial is subjective. For this reason, it is necessary to process employee assessment data that can help make it easier for a boss and the Payroll section to take a decision to recommend employees to take office. The method used to solve the problem of recommendation for promotion for employees by using the SMART method (Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique) is a multi-attribute decision-making method used to support decision making in choosing between several alternatives. The criteria used in calculating the assessment are professional criteria, cooperation, leadership, innovation and ethics at work. Judging from the managerial aspects, the assessment can be developed with other criteria according to the needs of the company</span>
