A hybrid method combining FE and SEA was recently presented for predicting the steady-state response of vibro-acoustic systems. The new method is presented for the analysis of complex dynamic systems which is based on partitioning the system degrees of freedom into a ‘‘global’’ set and a ‘‘local’’ set. The global equations of motion are formulated and solved by using the finite element method (FEM).The local equations of motion are formulated and solved by using statistical energy analysis (SEA). The power input from the global degrees of freedom. This paper deduces the theory for the beam element , and Train-Ballastless Track-Bridge System provides an application, and it showed that the method yields very good results .

Although the high-speed railway (HSR) system has been widely agreed to be a sustainable and convenient means of transportation, the vibration induced has already been deemed an urgent environmental problem. For the sake of investigating the vibration characteristics of the ballastless track on bridges in the HSR system from the point of view of energy, a numerical model of the vehicle–track–bridge coupled system is developed herein and the energy method based on power flow theory is employed. In addition, a corresponding evaluation method of the power flow theory is developed to evaluate the vibration characteristics of the track–bridge system. The conclusions indicate that (1) the vibration energy gradually attenuates from top to bottom of the track–bridge system in its transfer process. Moreover, the attenuation effects are mainly the result of the elasticity and damping effects of the fasteners and the slab mat layer. (2) With increasing slab mat layer stiffness, the vibration energy of the rail slightly decreases; on the contrary, that of the slab track and the bridge obviously increases. (3) With increasing fastener stiffness, the vibration energy of the entire track–bridge system increases. (4) With increasing running speed, the vibration energy of the entire track–bridge system rises obviously. The results reveal that the reasonable stiffness levels of the fasteners and the slab mat layer are 40 to 60 kN/mm and 40 to 60 MPa/m, respectively, under the investigated condition in this work. This work also presents a novel way to study the vibration characteristics of the ballastless track on bridges of HSRs in terms of energy.

The track irregularity spectrum of longitudinally connected ballastless track (LCBT)-bridge systems of high-speed railway was proposed in this paper. First, a simulation model of an LCBT-continuous girder bridge was established by considering the influences of approach bridges and subgrade with track structure. Further, a large number of sample analyses were carried out by taking into account the uncertainty of LCBT-bridge systems and stochastic behaviors of ground motions based on the simulation model. The damage laws of residual deformation of track-bridge system after earthquake actions were studied. Then, an interlayer deformation coordination relationship (IDCR) considering the track irregularity caused by earthquake-induced damage of bearings was developed, and the superposed track irregularity samples were obtained. Finally, by using the improved Blackman–Turkey method and Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm, the LCBT irregularity spectrum, track irregularity spectrogram, track irregularity limit spectrum, and a fitting formula for the track irregularity spectrum on a bridge after the action of earthquakes were obtained. Results obtained from the fitting formula and IDCR were compared, and they indicated that tracks undergone significant high-frequency irregularity diseases after the earthquake action. It was found that the track irregularity spectrum could be roughly divided into three ranges: high-, medium- and low-frequency wavebands. Consequently, this led to an application of a three-segment power function for the fitting of the track irregularity spectrum after the earthquake action. The track irregularity spectrum after the action of earthquakes provides an important theoretical basis for the establishment of seismic design methods for high-speed railway bridges based on the traffic safety performance.

Dynamic response related to fatigue prediction of an urban bus is investigated. First, a quite complete model subjected to road excitation is employed in order to extract sufficiently reliable and accurate information in a fast way. The bus model is set up by applying the finite element method, resulting to an excessive number of degrees of freedom. In addition, the bus suspension units involve nonlinear characterstics. A step towards alleviating this difficulty is the application of an appropriate coordinate transformation, causing a drastic reduction in the dimension of the final set of the equations of motion. This allows the application of a systematic numerical methodology leading to direct determination of periodic steady state response of nonlinear models subjected to periodic excitation. Next, typical results were obtained for excitation resulting from selected urban road profiles. These profiles have either a known form or known statistical properties, expressed by an appropriate spatial power spectral density function. In all cases examined, the emphasis was put on investigating ride response. The main attention was focused on identifying areas of the bus suspension and frame subsystems where high stress levels are developed. This information is based on the idea of a nonlinear transfer function and provides the basis for applying suitable criteria in order to perform analyses leading to prediction of fatigue failure.

This paper discusses the random response of a seven degree of freedom, passenger truck model to lateral rail irregularities. Power spectral densities and root mean square levels of component displacements and contact forces are reported. The truck model used in the study allows lateral and yaw degrees of freedom for each wheelset, and lateral, yaw and roll freedoms for the truck frame. Linear creep relations are utilized for the rail-wheel contact forces. The lateral rail irregularities enter the analysis through the creep expressions. The results described in the paper were obtained using frequency domain techniques to solve the equations of motion. The reported results demonstrate that the guidance force needed when traveling over irregular rail at high speed utilizes a significant portion of the total available tangential force between wheel and rail.

With the increasing popularity of high-speed railway, more and more bridges are being constructed in Western China where debris flows are very common. A debris flow with moderate intensity may endanger a high-speed train traveling on a bridge, since its direct impact leads to adverse dynamic responses of the bridge and the track structure. In order to address this issue, a dynamic analysis model is established for studying vibrations of coupled train–track–bridge system subjected to debris flow impact, in which a model of debris flow impact load in time domain is proposed and applied on bridge piers as external excitation. In addition, a six-span simply supported box girder bridge is considered as a case study. The dynamic responses of the bridge and the running safety indices such as derailment factor, offload factor, and lateral wheel–rail force of the train are investigated. Some influencing factors are then discussed based on parametric studies. The results show that both bridge responses and running safety indices are greatly amplified due to debris flow impact loads as compared with that without debris flow impact. With respect to the debris flow impact load, the boulder collision has a more negative impact on the dynamic responses of the bridge and train than the dynamic slurry pressure. Both the debris flow impact intensity and train speed determine the running safety indices, and the debris flow occurrence time should be also carefully considered to investigate the worst scenario.

In order to investigate the vertical dynamic response characteristics of train-track-bridge system on CWR (Continunously Welded Rail) under dynamic load of train on HSR (High-Speed Railway) bridge. Based on the principle of vehicle train-track-bridge coupling dynamics, taking the 32m simply supported bridge of a section of Zhengzhou-Xuzhou Passenger Dedicated Line as an example, the finite element software ANSYS and the dynamic analysis software SIMPACK are used for co-simulation, and bridge model of the steel spring floating slab track and the CRTSIII ballastless track (China Railway Track System) considering the shock absorbing steel spring, the limit barricade and the contact characteristics of track structure layers are established. On this basis, in order to study the dynamic response laws of the design of ballastless track structure parameters to the system when the train crosses the bridge and provide the basis for the design and construction, by studying the influence of the speed of train on the bridge, the damage of fasteners and the parameters of track structure on the train-track-bridge system, the displacement of rail, vertical vibration acceleration and wheel-rail force response performance are analyzed. Studies have shown that: At the train speed of 40 km/h, the displacement and acceleration of the rail and track slab in the CRTSIII ballastless track are smaller than the floating slab track structure, but the floating slab track structure has better vibration reduction performance for bridges. The acceleration of rail, track slab and bridge increases obviously with the increase of train speed, the rail structure has the largest increasement. Reducing the stiffness of fasteners could decrease the vertical acceleration response of the steel spring floating slab track system, the ability to absorb shock can be enhanceed by reducing the stiffness of the fastener appropriately. Increasing the density of the floating slab can increase the vertical acceleration of the floating slab and the bridge, thereby decreasing the vibration amplitude of the system.

The dynamics of a widely used class of hammer impact machines are investigated on the basis of a two-degree-of-freedom idealization. The difficulty in the problem is due to the repetitive impact which introduces a nonlinearity in the system. It is the purpose of the analysis to develop a solution for the steady-state behavior of the system. There are several ways this can be done. One of the most efficient ways, from the point of view of ease of parametric studies of the system, is to convert the problem to a “boundary” value problem. With this technique, the system is governed by the equations of motion between impacts, and further satisfies additional conditions at the beginning and end of each impact cycle. Since the solution is obtained in only one cycle, it thus represents a straightforward method of studying the effect of various system parameters. A fundamental assumption in the analysis is that the steady-state response of the system has a period equal to the forcing period. This is verified for one set of parameters through the use of high-speed movies of an actual machine. There are several other interesting features in the analysis, including multivaluedness of the solution, allowable solution domain, and stability of solution, which have not been completely resolved to date.

Because of the high speed, strong coupling between aerodynamics and propulsion system, complex environmental conditions and new propulsion system, the airbreathing hypersonic vehicles have a complex dynamics characteristic. This paper use the generic hypersonic vehicle model (CSULA-GHV) to research this issue. The nonlinear longitudinal equations of motion are linearized based on the assumption of little perturbation. Analyze the dynamic characteristic on a feature point selected. The results show that, the stability of this model is poor. It has to design an efficient controller to adjust the poor stability.
