Abstract This paper compares the three major semi-invasive optical approaches, Photon Emission (PE), Thermal Laser Stimulation (TLS) and Electro-Optical Frequency Mapping (EOFM) for contactless static random access memory (SRAM) content read-out on a commercial microcontroller. Advantages and disadvantages of these techniques are evaluated by applying those techniques on a 1 KB SRAM in an MSP430 microcontroller. It is demonstrated that successful read out depends strongly on the core voltage parameters for each technique. For PE, better SNR and shorter integration time are to be achieved by using the highest nominal core voltage. In TLS measurements, the core voltage needs to be externally applied via a current amplifier with a bias voltage slightly above nominal. EOFM can use nominal core voltages again; however, a modulation needs to be applied. The amplitude of the modulated supply voltage signal has a strong effect on the quality of the signal. Semi-invasive read out of the memory content is necessary in order to remotely understand the organization of memory, which finds applications in hardware and software security evaluation, reverse engineering, defect localization, failure analysis, chip testing and debugging.

Firms operate in a more and more complex, dynamic, less predictable environment. This situation requires following different approaches of strategic positioning and strategic planning and developing new patterns of strategic thinking. There are several strategic models and tools. Most of them have advantages and disadvantages. In spite of these limitations, these models must be examined. The purpose of this chapter is to conduct a strategic analysis (external and internal diagnoses). It familiarizes the reader with the forces that shape competition in a company's external environment and then analyzes internal strategic capabilities for identifying strategic sustainable competitive advantage.

We tryed to formalize various aspects of distance education in the form of speculative validity indicators based on calculating the relative frequency of students and teachers opinions. Methods of survey, questioning, systematization of information from open sources in electronic catalogs and publications on the Internet were used. The systematized nominal information was classified according to the selected dichotomous bases. There are 10 reasons (factors) for evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning. 26 aspects-variables of distance education were identified. Promising areas for further research are outlined.

The sources of contamination with heptyl (asymmetric dimethylhydrazine (NDMG)) associated with the operation of rocket and space technology have been identified and analyzed. Existing chemical, thermal, adsorption and biological methods for cleaning soil soils from pollution of NDMG are examined in detail and their basic principles are analyzed. In the process of work, the advantages and disadvantages of all the methods considered, as well as the features of their application, are revealed. The basic principles of choosing the most suitable methods in each particular situation are proposed. In general, a reasonable combination of all existing methods is recommended at different stages of soil reclamation.

Three maintenance structures of avionics were investigated in the article, including centralized intermediated repair concept, three-level maintenance structure, and the two-level maintenance structure. Both the advantages and disadvantages of these three maintenance structures were fully discussed, especially the potential in civil UAS maintenance. The investigation result shows that the two-level maintenance structure is the best choice for the civil unmanned aircraft maintenance at present. Key technologies of the two-level maintenance structure used for civil UAS were also discussed in this article. The advisements were given in these discussions.

Optical biometry is based on the laser interferometry technique for the measurement of the biometric characteristics of the eyes, such as the antero-posterior axial length, anterior chamber depth, lens and retina thickness, corneal diameter and parameters of keratometry. The present article was designed to overview the basic principles of this method, its advantages and disadvantages, indications and contraindications for its application. The comparative analysis of the characteristics of the following optical biometric devices was undertaken: IOL-Master 500, Lenstar LS 900, Aladdin, OA-1000, OA-2000, Al-3000, Al-Scan, Galilei G6, IOL-Master 700.
