Dwelling (also a residence, a residence) is a self-contained accommodation unit used by one or more households as a home; such as a house, apartment, mobile home, household, vehicle, other "substantial" structure. The concept of residence has significance in relation to search and seizure, transport of real property, theft, offenses, and land use planning. In a city like Jakarta, with dense infrastructure, wide economic disparities and a tense social composition, increasing green space should be a top priority. However, residents of the capital Jakarta can reiterate that this is not the case. That in fact lacks a conspicuous park, playground and public park in the capital. The urban design concept deals with the integration of land use, movement and traffic management and the form of the built environment. Its aim is to provide urban high-quality places that are efficient, functional and attractive, and can respond to changing societal, environmental and economic needs over time. In designing it also contributes to, and bridges between planning and design. It deals with the surrounding environment by paying attention to the context of the building and space rather than the object itself. Then it requires access to green infrastructure, open space areas and green spaces, which will contribute to a greener, healthier, smarter, safer, livelier, richer and fairer. This guide will assist in assessing and demonstrating progress in improving green infrastructure to create a place that is useful, sustainable and well used. It creates a wider community, natural environment and supports a healthy economy. Keywords:  Dwelling; Green space; Private space; Public space ; Sustainable.

In December 2010, HarassMap was launched as a Cairo-based interactive online mapping interface for reporting and mapping incidents of sexual harassment anonymously and in real time, in Egypt. The project’s use of spatial information technologies for crowdmapping sexual harassment raises important questions about the use of crowdsourced mapping as a technique of global human security governance, as well as the techno-politics of interpreting and representing spaces of gendered security and insecurity in Egypt’s urban streetscape. By recoding Egypt’s urban landscape into spaces subordinated to the visual cartography of the project’s crowdsourced data, HarassMap obscures the complex assemblage that it draws together as the differentially open space of the Egyptian street – spaces that are territorialized and deterritorialized for authoritarian control, state violence, revolt, rape, new solidarities, gender reversals, sectarian tensions, and class-based mobilization. What is at stake in my analysis is the plasticity of victimage: to what extent can attempts to ‘empower’ women be pursued at the microlevel without amplifying the similarly imperial techniques of objectifying them as resources used to justify other forms of state violence? The question requires taking seriously the practices of mapping and targeting as an interface for securing public space.

The requirements of “two-oriented society” (resource-conserving and environment- friendly society) is dissected in the urban agglomeration planning, clarifying that the transformation of planning pattern and land resources use pattern should be carried out by the urban agglomeration planning under the “two-oriented society” background and the emphasis of planning should turn to the construction of public space and neighborhood relationship as well as prior layout of green space and urban open space. Through the understanding of regional planning on the connotation, orientation and core target of “two-oriented society”, analyst difficulties and problems “two-oriented society” construction in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan agglomeration was currently faced with, research on the establishment of “two-oriented society”, implementation methods and emphasis of regional planning was conducted. Additionally, aiming at the reality of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration, it proposes construction strategies and suggestion for the planning in the context of “two-oriented society” construction.

Cities change. A sudden natural disaster may destroy a city. Spaces that were once important for the citizens and political life may be lost to development. Spaces that survive hold the quirks of history, culture, and society. This article develops a historical account of urban public space that explores the changing relationship between space, political order, identity, and memory. Using Tundikhel, the largest public open space of national significance in Kathmandu, Nepal, the article takes a journey from the ancient era to medieval times, and right through to the modern period to decipher the ways in which the public space has been historically formed, construed, and interpreted. The main body of the paper explores Tundikhel’s evolution through four thematic phases: (1) abstraction, folklore, and mysticism (300–1200 AD); (2) art, mandala and mercantalism (1201–1767 AD); (3) power, visibility, and modernity (1768–1989 AD) and; (4) breaking barriers and emancipation (1990 onwards). The article argues that a postmodern, hybrid nature of the public space today does more to capture the nature of the city’s change as a complex, multi-layered shift in which the history cannot be simply erased, but returns to disrupt contemporary narratives of the national space.

A square is an important built open space in cities and towns. In many urban areas throughout the world squares act as essential form of public space, making them a venue where socializing, meeting and event activities take place. Over the years, more squares are emerging as public spaces in Malaysian cities and towns as an alternative to parks. While most people often visit parks in the morning and evening, they still need a public space where they can conduct their leisure activities after working hours and at night. This is particularly relevant for towns and cities located in tropical and humid countries like Malaysia. The rising need to be outdoors in a cooler environment in the evening and at night, as a respite from the daytime heat and work, has attracted people back to the town squares. The sense of openness that a square offers is different from that of a park at night. The attractiveness of a square as a night space relies on how its users relate to the square’s physical, social and environmental attributes. Through examining a town square in Malaysia that has transformed into an active public space at night, this article aims to explore the attributes that enabled the square to be adapted into a night space. The findings revealed that there is a strong relationship between the opportunities for various activities and the provision of relevant infrastructure that support the square to serve as a public space for peopleat night. This is an important tangent in shifting how urban public space in Malaysia might be designed and planned in the future so as to cater for the changing needs of urban dwellers.

Ray Oldenburg, in his book entitled "The Great Good Places" explains a concept of initial space, by which one can find comfort aside from the house (first place) and workplace (second place). Unfortunately, these days, this concept of place are not familiar within the community. Alternative Green Space of Pademangan is a place which accommodates the needs and interests of the community in daily life from where visitors can interact with others in a natural environment. Lacking in open space, various potential activities by the community, and the use of road as a public space are some of the reasons behind this project. Based on field study and regional analysis, this project seeks to become a third place that provides individually and communally. Regardless to it main focus on the surrounding community, this project also opens to public and allows visitors from outside the region, making it a comfortable place to socialized. Aiming to create a light and transparent building, and with the method of critical regionalism that responds to the region, this project attempts to create a spacious place and safe haven for visitors.  Keywords: green; pademangan; third Place Ray Oldenburg, dalam bukunya yang berjudul “The Great Good Places” menawarkan sebuah konsep ruang ketiga, di mana seseorang dapat menemukan zona nyamannya di luar dari rumah (first place) dan tempat kerja (second place).

The war in eastern Ukraine continues to produce casualties and an ever growing number of refugees and displaced persons every day. When urban public space is dedicated to commemorating the dead who have died since the Maidan protests, the frontiers of war become inscribed in the urban landscape and in the everyday life of many Ukrainians. These commemorative spaces are an unrelenting reminder of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine that threatens to remake political borders once again. Commemorative practices articulate new understandings of relatedness as symbolic statements that, once inscribed in public space, have the potential to affect the thinking of locals and far outlive the actual armed conflict that produced them.

ABSTRACT. Urban development should not only focus on the man-made landscape but also the natural landscape. One of the important natural landscape is the existence of green open space. Green open space development in urban landscape areas has generally been more focused on achieving the goal of reducing pollutants, creating thermal comfort, as well as aesthetics. Unfortunately, the benefits of green space from the conservation, especially for flora and fauna are still largely ignored. This study aims to record biodiversity in Depok City to become a reference in achieving sustainable development (green development), so that environmental quality can be improved and functional not only for human but also for flora and fauna. The study was conducted in three locations with different characters namely Taman Lembah Gurame, Tahura Pancoran Mas, and Jalan Juanda. The results obtained by the value of vegetation diversity are consecutively in Tahura Pancoran Mas (2,535), Lembah Gurame Park (1,287), and Jalan Juanda (0.967). Green open space on Jalan Juanda has the lowest value of vegetation diversity. The low value of vegetation diversity directly affects the presence of fauna because not found in the Jalan Juanda. This study also managed to record important vegetations in each location that can provide information for whether or not the vegetation well-adapted in its environment. Keywords: conservation, fauna, flora, green open space, urban landscape
