Dwelling (also a residence, a residence) is a self-contained accommodation unit used by one or more households as a home; such as a house, apartment, mobile home, household, vehicle, other "substantial" structure. The concept of residence has significance in relation to search and seizure, transport of real property, theft, offenses, and land use planning. In a city like Jakarta, with dense infrastructure, wide economic disparities and a tense social composition, increasing green space should be a top priority. However, residents of the capital Jakarta can reiterate that this is not the case. That in fact lacks a conspicuous park, playground and public park in the capital. The urban design concept deals with the integration of land use, movement and traffic management and the form of the built environment. Its aim is to provide urban high-quality places that are efficient, functional and attractive, and can respond to changing societal, environmental and economic needs over time. In designing it also contributes to, and bridges between planning and design. It deals with the surrounding environment by paying attention to the context of the building and space rather than the object itself. Then it requires access to green infrastructure, open space areas and green spaces, which will contribute to a greener, healthier, smarter, safer, livelier, richer and fairer. This guide will assist in assessing and demonstrating progress in improving green infrastructure to create a place that is useful, sustainable and well used. It creates a wider community, natural environment and supports a healthy economy. Keywords:  Dwelling; Green space; Private space; Public space ; Sustainable.

Cemetery grounds and sustainable land use practice are rarely used in conjunction however natural burial grounds present opportunities to leverage the land use and environmental challenges associated with conventional cemeteries for the benefit of people and the environment. This paper explores land use planning challenges facing Ontario in planning for the disposal of our dead and the emergence of natural burial grounds as a sustainable alternative to conventional burial. This paper also explores how planning challenges related to planning for the disposal of our dead could be leveraged to produce positive outcomes; in particular the strengthening of Ontario's Greenbelt as a living landscape. This paper argues the Natural burial has potential to be a value added land resource and can mitigate a series of burial related land use challenges currently present in Ontario.

ABSTRACTThe development of big cities in Indonesia especially Jakarta City which is developing very rapidly is marked by the rapid development of physical development, thus affecting the increasing population and land use resulting in a decrease in the amount of vegetation cover. The main problem of the existence of Open Green Space (RTH) in Jakarta is the increasingly reduced / limited land and inconsistencies in implementing spatial planning. The reduced green space is caused by changes in land use that is relatively significant so that green space in Jakarta has not met the target of 30% of the total area, especially in the District of Kramatjati. The purpose of this study is to calculate the need for green space within a district. The method used is the initial data processing (radiometric correction, pancarrage, mosaic, cropping) and calculation of vegetation density values based on Normalized Defference Vegetation Index (NDVI). Based on the results of NDVI calculations using Pleiades Image Data in 2015, that in Kramat Jati Subdistrict there were 225.17 ha as vegetation areas, while 918.93 ha were non-vegetation areas. The results of the calculation are then divided into density levels, ie, a rare density of 48,595 ha, medium density of 34,446 ha, and high density of 160,609 ha. The conclusion obtained is that green open space in Kramat Jati Sub-district is planned to cover 12.38% of the entire Kramat Jati area. However, based on NDVI results, green open space in Kramatjati has reached 19.68% of the entire district area. And  terms of quantity, then the amount of green space has been fulfilled.

Abstract Land use planning in an area will refer to the regulations that have been established by the City Planning Office of each region. This is because each region has the authority to plan spatial plans in their respective regions. The border area is an area whose land use can be influenced by two different regional regulations. This is because the border area is a special area located on the border between two regions, each of which has spatial planning regulations. Gayungan District is one of the sub-districts included in the Border Area between Surabaya City and Sidoarjo Regency. To prevent overlapping spatial regulations that may occur in Gayungan District, it is necessary to monitor the suitability of land use using geographic information system technology and remote sensing. The data used in this study are the 2019 Gayungan District RDTRK Map and very high resolution satellite imagery of Pleiades Surabaya City 2019. The method used is the Object Based Image Analysis (OBIA) method. The result of this research is the suitability of land use in Gayungan District. A land use can be said to be suitable if the existing land use is in accordance with the land use in the plan. Meanwhile, land use is said to be inappropriate if the existing land use is different from the planned spatial use. All land use classes in Gayungan District in 2019 had a higher percentage of unsuitable land than the percentage of suitable land. Each percentage of land is not suitable for each land use class, namely: water body class by 92.593%, road class by 78.035%, industrial class by 77.838%, defense class by 76.706%, green open space class by 69.736%, and residential class by 52,27%. So it can be said that the land use in Gayungan District in 2019 was not in accordance with the plans in the City Spatial Detail Plan Map for 2018-2038, but the land use could be appropriate in its designation for the future, because there is a possibility of development for residential class, industrial class, and defense class on open land that is still widely available.

The High Line, an abandoned elevated railway structure on Lower Manhattan's West-side, converted into the public park is among the most innovative urban renovation projects. The meatpacking district with industrial taste, transformed to one of the most fashionable areas in New York would not be realized without the impact of this unique Urban Park, the high Line. The story of how it came to be is a remarkable one: two young citizens with no prior experience in planning and development collaborated with their neighbors, elected officials, artists, local business owners, and leaders of burgeoning movements in horticulture and landscape architecture to create a park celebrated worldwide as a model for creatively designed, socially vibrant, ecologically sound public space. 5 millions of visitors are counted annually. The research will clarify the process of the High Line’s execution, its mechanism of urban transform, and impact to the neighborhood chronologically, and will discuss and theorize this urban regeneration as an outcome of catalytic effect of Urban Green Space.

Kata kunci: pemaknaan, ruang terbuka publik, taman nostalgia Title: The Meaning of Public Space of Kupang City Nostalgia Park Kupang City Nostalgia Park became one of the characteristics of the city where the park is located in the city center and became the only representative representative park in the city of Kupang. But the soul is unreliable. Is Nostalgic Park able to give meaning to the initial concept of planning and development in order to provide broad benefits for the city of Kupang and its citizens. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to know the extent to which Nostalgia parks as a public space and how its meaning for the citizens of the city. This research was conducted by qualitative descriptive method. Observations were made in the park room at predetermined times to get an overview of the utilization pattern. The results show that the utilization of open space Nostalgia public park is still not maximized according to the initial concept, where the purpose of utilization of the park on a larger scale has not been integrated with the unsuccessful efforts to make the park as the lung of the city / forest city and has not given a democratic meaning to visitors park as a public open space that can be accessed by the visitors. Keywords: meaning, public open space, Nostalgia park

Ray Oldenburg, in his book entitled "The Great Good Places" explains a concept of initial space, by which one can find comfort aside from the house (first place) and workplace (second place). Unfortunately, these days, this concept of place are not familiar within the community. Alternative Green Space of Pademangan is a place which accommodates the needs and interests of the community in daily life from where visitors can interact with others in a natural environment. Lacking in open space, various potential activities by the community, and the use of road as a public space are some of the reasons behind this project. Based on field study and regional analysis, this project seeks to become a third place that provides individually and communally. Regardless to it main focus on the surrounding community, this project also opens to public and allows visitors from outside the region, making it a comfortable place to socialized. Aiming to create a light and transparent building, and with the method of critical regionalism that responds to the region, this project attempts to create a spacious place and safe haven for visitors.  Keywords: green; pademangan; third Place Ray Oldenburg, dalam bukunya yang berjudul “The Great Good Places” menawarkan sebuah konsep ruang ketiga, di mana seseorang dapat menemukan zona nyamannya di luar dari rumah (first place) dan tempat kerja (second place).
