The application of laser welding technology has been considered to shipbuilding structure. However, when this technology is applied to primer-coated steel, good quality weld beads are not easily obtained. Because the primer-coated layer caused the spatter, humping bead and porosity which are main part of the welding defect attributed to the powerful vaporizing pressure of zinc. So we performed experiment with objectives of understanding spatter and porosity formation mechanism and producing sound weld beads in 6 t primer coated steels by a CO2 CW laser. The effects of welding parameters; defocused distance, welding speed, coated thickness and coated position; were investigated in the bead shape and penetration depth on bead and lap welding. Alternative idea was suggested to suspend the welding defect by giving a reasonable gap clearance for primer coated thickness. The zinc of primer has a boiling point that is lower than melting point of steel. Zinc vapor builds up at the interface between the two sheets and this tends to deteriorate the quality of the weld by ejecting weld material from lap position or leaving porosity. Significant effects of primer coated position were lap side rather than surface. Therefore introducing a small gap clearance in the lap position, the zinc vapor could escape through it and sound weld beads can be acquired. In conclusion, formation and suspension mechanism of the welding defects was suggested by controlling the factors.

PT. Adiluhung Saranasegara Indonesia, Bangkalan are ship building and ship repair industry. This company has high risk of fire. This company used LPG for cutting the iron plate process and making new vessels. Based on the the fire triangle theory, a fire could occur if there is an element of fuel, oxygen and heat. An element of fuel which can cause a fire include solids, liquids and gases. This research aims were to identify the management systems of fire in PT. Adiluhung Saranasegara Indonesia, Bangkalan which includes pre-fire program and currently fire. This study applied descriptive study using cross-sectional approach. There were fifteen informants took part in this study that consisted of head officer, safety officer, health safety and environment (HSE) staff, firemans and securities. Data were collected by conducting interviews, observations, and document reviews. Content and data analysis were used and presented in the form of narration. The results showed that all the pre-fire program (policies in management, organization, and procedures; the identification of the risks of fire, development and training, active and passive protections towards the incidence of fire, fire inspection, the prevention of damages) has been carried out. On-fire program also have emergency respons team. Keywords: during a fire, pre fire, shipping industry

Abstract Due to more freedom in design and flexibility in production, parts produced by additive manufacturing technologies (AM) offer a huge potential for the manufacture of turbomachinery components. Because of the layer by layer built structure, internal defects like cracks or gaseous pores can occur. These defects considerably reduce the mechanical properties and increase the importance of quality control, especially in the field of turbomachinery. Therefore, in this study, an electrochemical defect analysis (EC-D) of additive manufactured components is introduced, performed and validated in comparison to a nondestructive X-ray testing of the same part. A test rig was developed, which allows an alternation between electrochemical machining and subsequent optical documentation of each removed layer. The documentation of the surface and the macroscopic defects in the AM-parts are captured by an integrated camera system.

In the shipbuilding industry, the non-destructive testing for welding quality inspection is mainly used for the permanent storage of the testing results and the radio-graphic testing which can visually inspect the interior of the welded part. Experts are required to properly detect the test results and it takes a lot of time and cost to manually Interpret the radio-graphic testing image of the structure over 500 blocks. The algorithms that automatically interpret the existing radio-graphic testing images to extract features through image pre-processing and classify the defects using neural networks, and only partial automation is performed. In order to implement the feature extraction and classification in one algorithm and to implement the overall automation, this paper proposes a method of automatically detecting welding defect using Faster R-CNN which is a deep learning basis. We analyzed the data to learn algorithms and compared the performance improvements using data augmentation method to artificially increase the limited data. In order to appropriately extract the features of the radio-graphic testing image, two internal feature extractors of Faster R-CNN were selected, compared, and performance evaluation was performed.

In the engineering applications area, welding defect is a major hidden danger of structure security. the bending failure process of welded specimens is detected by using AE technique and the data samples of typical welding defect source are collected, and by using wavelet technique the typical AE datas acquired through experiment are analyzed, characteristic information of the typical acoustic emission source such as electromagnetic noise, plastic deformation, micro-crack initiation, crack unsteady expansion and fracture, etc are extracted. A serial acoustic emission source identification methods based on the energy spectrum coefficients of wavelet are established and which can realize accurately distinguishing of different acoustic emission sources, so as to provide a theoretical basis to detect equipment welding defects by acoustic emission technology dynamic in engineering practice.
