Abstract. Self-healing is an interesting property of metallized capacitors. contract resistance is importance to self healing. In the paper contract resistance is calculated with different diameters of hole and different thickness of metal layer. The larger is radius of hole, the less is contract resistance. The thicker is metal layer, the less is contract resistance.

In this Paper, we Propose an Alignment Method for Lift-Off on Shallow Grooves in Transparent Substrates without an Extra Mask. An Assistant Metal Layer Was Deposited on the Glass Substrate with Grooves to Increase the Reflectance, and then a Layer of Photoresist for Lift-Off Process Was Coated and Patterned Aligning with the Shallow Grooves. We Compared the Effect of Aluminum and Chromium Films with Different Thickness as Reflecting Layers. an Aluminum or Chromium Film with the Thickness Larger than 10nm Provides High Enough Image Contrast of Profile of the Alignment Marks Beneath the Photoresist. the Image Contrast of Contour Profile of the Marks Was Enhanced as the Thickness Increased. Lift-Off Process Was then Implemented on the Assistant Reflecting Layer. With a 20nm Cr Layer, we Successfully Did Lithography and Finished the Lift-Off Process to Pattern a Cr/Au Layer on Shallow Grooves in a Glass Wafer. Finally, the Assistant Cr Layer Was Removed Using Dry Etching. the Assistant Metal Layer Has No Undesirable Influence on the Following Process and the Device Property.

Self-healing composite materials possess healing agent which fills up the crack when ruptured and heals the crack by becoming a tough polymer when stimulated by a catalyst. Dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) in its monomer form is microencapsulated in the shell of Urea Formaldehyde (UF) under different agitation rates to acquire microcapsules of different diameters. The distribution of particle size, surface morphology and the presence of various chemical constituents in the microcapsules were analysed using optical microscopy, SEM and EDAX respectively. An agitation rate of 300 rpm, yielded capsules of diameters ranging from 800μm to 1700μm and at 900rpm the diameters were less than 300μm. Spherical shaped free flowing microcapsules were obtained through insitu polymerisation of dicyclopentadiene in Urea Formaldehyde.

Structural colours have received a lot of attention regarding the reproduction of the vivid colours found in nature. In this study, metal–anodic aluminium oxide (AAO)–Al nanostructures were deposited using a two-step anodization and sputtering process to produce self-ordered anodic aluminium oxide films and a metal layer (8 nm Cr and 25, 17.5 and 10 nm of Au), respectively. AAO films of different thickness were anodized and the Yxy values (Y is the luminance value, and x and y are the chromaticity values) were obtained via reflectance measurements. An empirical model based on the thickness and porosity of the nanostructures was determined, which describes a gamut of colours. The proposed mathematical model can be applied in different fields, such as wavelength absorbers, RGB (red, green, blue) display devices, as well as chemical or optical sensors.

The present study demonstrates the ultrastructure of the gingival epithelium of the pig tail monkey (Macaca nemestrina). Specimens were taken from lingual and facial gingival surfaces and fixed in Dalton's chrome osmium solution (pH 7.6) for 1 hr, dehydrated, and then embedded in Epon 812.Tonofibrils are variable in number and structure according to the different region or location of the gingival epithelial cells, the main orientation of which is parallel to the long axis of the cells. The cytoplasm of the basal epithelial cells contains a great number of tonofilaments and numerous mitochondria. The basement membrane is 300 to 400 A thick. In the cells of stratum spinosum, the tonofibrils are densely packed and increased in number (fig. 1 and 3). They seem to take on a somewhat concentric arrangement around the nucleus. The filaments may occur scattered as thin fibrils in the cytoplasm or they may be arranged in bundles of different thickness. The filaments have a diameter about 50 A. In the stratum granulosum, the cells gradually become flatted, the tonofibrils are usually thin, and the individual tonofilaments are clearly distinguishable (fig. 2). The mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum are seldom seen in these superficial cell layers.

Cat extraocular muscles consist of two regions: orbital, and global. The orbital region contains predominantly small diameter fibers, while the global region contains a variety of fibers of different diameters. The differences in ultrastructural features among these muscle fibers indicate that the extraocular muscles of cats contain at least five structurally distinguishable types of fibers.Superior rectus muscles were studied by light and electron microscopy, mapping the distribution of each fiber type with its distinctive features. A mixture of 4% paraformaldehyde and 4% glutaraldehyde was perfused through the carotid arteries of anesthetized adult cats and applied locally to exposed superior rectus muscles during the perfusion.

Underground spaces in town centres present a big attraction for investors. However, they put special requirements to the internal environment. Those requirements can be fulfilled by means of daylighting. Examples of lighting of underground spaces are discussed. It is shown that the common systems of natural lighting are not always possible to use and cause big heat losses. Hollow light guide pipes allow avoid the shortcomings of common daylight systems. Method of calculation of daylight factors from hollow light guide pipes is shown. The results of calculation of daylight factors under the light guide pipes of different diameters in the different depths are presented.
