A New Approach to Reconstructing 3D Solid from the Two 2D Views Based on AutoCAD

This paper presents a new approach to reconstructing 3D solid model from the two given 2D orthographic views based on AutoCAD, which is much more effective and high efficient for a special kind of compound object than the currently existing ways. The approach emphasizes integrated operating of AutoCAD software and basic knowledge of engineering drawing with no needs for complicated computation and 3D rich imagination and reconstruction. Using this approach, the 3D solid model can be reconstructed effectively and efficiently from the two given 2D orthographic views by several steps of simple operation on computer on the basis of judgment. The research work provides a theoretical possibility for the automatic reconstruction of 3D Solid model of such compound objects, and a simple and practical 3D solid model-reconstructing method for engineers and learners of engineering drawing.

According to the given 2D orthographic views to image the object’s shape is one of the key qualities that engineers and technician must possess. This paper presents a teaching approach with which the teacher can easily, effectively and efficiently teach students how to solve the problems that the object’s shape is required to be imaged and the third view is required to be drawn according to the two given 2D orthographic views. The approach emphasizes integrated and flexible application of Boolean’s set operation of AutoCAD software and basic knowledge of engineering drawing with no needs for complicated computation and 3D rich imagination. It is intended to encourage student’s interest and enthusiasm in creative design using CAD software. And teaching practice has shown this method can improve greatly student’s quality of creative spatial thinking and computer-operating.

This paper presents the multi-roller contact roller-gear cam reducer. It’s a special kind of the indexing roller-gear cam that changes the stopping stage of the indexing cam to zero and chooses the equal-velocity law. And with multi-roller contact the carrying capacity is greatly improved. In this paper, we created the 3D solid model of the main components of the reducer: the cam, the turntable and the rollers. After that, we used the FEA software ANSYS Workbench to calculate the static structural behavior and the results showed us the weak or dangerous part of the mechanism so that we can optimize the structural. However the static structural behavior does not always shows the working condition. Thus we calculated the flexible dynamic behavior of the reducer and it showed us vividly that which part is weak and we could see the real deformation and stress distribution of the structural while working. Then we can pay more attention to these parts.

Research team of physicians and lab technicians under Izrael Milejkowski’s direction undertook the effort to carry out a series of clinical and biochemical experiments on patients dying of starvation in the Warsaw ghetto so as to receive the fullest possible picture of hunger disease. The research was carried out according to all the rigors of strict scientific discipline, and the authors during their work on academic articles, published it after the war entitled: „Starvation disease: hunger research carried out in the Warsaw ghetto in 1942,” according to their own words, they “supplemented the gap in accordance with the progress of knowledge.” The article is devoted to the reflections over ethical dilemmas of the research team, who were forced in their work to perform numerous medical treatments of experimental nature on extremely exhausted patients. The ill, according to Dr Fajgenblat’s words,“demonstrated negativism toward the research and treatment, which extremely hindered the work, and sometimes even frustrated it.” The article attempts to look at the monumental research work of the Warsaw ghetto doctors as a special kind of response of the medical profession to the feeling of helplessness to the dying patients. The article analyzes the situation of Warsaw ghetto doctors, who undertook the research without support of any outer authority, which could settle their possible ethical dilemmas (Polish deontological codes, European discussions on the conditions of the admissibility of medical research on patients, etc.).

We study the restricted solid-on-solid (RSOS) model by grouping consecutive sites into local configurations and obtain the master equations of the probability distribution of these local configurations in closed forms. The obtained solutions to these equations fit very well with those from direct computer simulation of the RSOS model. To demonstrate the effectiveness of this new approach for studying interfacial phenomena, we then calculate the correlation functions and even scaling exponents based on this obtained probability distribution of local configurations. The results are also consistent very well with those obtained from the KPZ equation or direct simulation of the RSOS model.

Abstract An integral part of implementing parallel product and process designs is simulation through numerical analysis. This simulation-driven design requires discretization of the 3D part in an appropriate manner. If the part is thin or has thin sections (e.g., plastic parts), then an analysis model with reduced dimensionality may be more accurate and economical than a standard 3D model. In addition, substantial simplification of some details in the design geometry may be beneficial and desirable in the analysis model. Unfortunately, the majority of CAD systems do not provide the means for abstraction of appropriate analysis models. In this paper we present a new approach, based on midsurface abstraction, which holds significant promise in simplifying simulation-driven design. The method is user-friendly because very little interaction is required to guide the software in its automatic creation of the desired analysis model. It is also robust because it handles typical parts with complex and interacting features. Application of the method for feature recognition and abstraction is also briefly discussed.

The increasing use of multi-material constructions lead to a continuous increase in the use of mechanical joining techniques due to the wide range of joining possibilities as well as the high load-bearing capacities of the joints. Nevertheless, the currently rigid tool systems are not able to react to changing boundary conditions, like changing the material-geometry-combination. Therefore research work is crucial with regard to versatile joining systems. In this paper, a new approach for a versatile self-piercing riveting process considering the joining system as well as the auxiliary joining part is presented.

The term springback is defined as the change in geometry of a component after forming, when the forces are removed from forming tools. As springback affects the final shape of the part, it can lead to significant difficulties in the assembly of component when springback is not proper. This problem leads to fabrication of inconsistent sheet metal parts; the elastic strain recovery in the material after the tooling is removed. Bendingis the plastic deformation of metals about a linear axis called the bending axis with little or no change in the surface area. Bending types of forming operations have been used widely in sheet metal forming industries to produce structural stamping parts such as braces, brackets, supports, hinges, angles, frames, channel and other nonsymmetrical sheet metal parts. Among them, quite a few efforts have been made to obtain a deep understanding of the springback phenomenon. The beam theory has been applied to formulate the curvature before and after loading of pipe. This research work has focused on study effect of springback effect with a new approach. The ANSYS software is used to analyze spring back effect. The detail study of this springback effect is presented in this paper.

The behaviour of fourteen exotic ornamental fishes of Bangladesh under starved condition in aquaria was experimented from January to December, 2011. Fishes were belonging to 13 genera, 09 families and 4 orders. Two treatments each with three replications were used. Four different behavioural phases of fish were monitored through constant observation. Almost all the behavioural phases were seen earlier in the fishes of treatment T1. Marble angel survived more (1022±4.02 hrs; T2) than others. The lowest survival period (116±2.44 hrs; T1) was seen for albino suckermouth. Fishes were died earlier in T1 than T2, due to presence or absence of aeration facilities. Water temperature, dissolved oxygen, free CO2, pH, total alkalinity, ammonia-nitrogen and chlorine level were found to be varied from 25.66±0.17 to 28.66±0.35°C, 3.80±0.06 to 4.73±0.07 mg/l, 9.21±0.05 to 11.75±0.03 mg/l, 7.13±0.05 to 7.47±0.07, 76.66±1.64 to 108.92±3.20 mg/l, 0.0010±0.0006 to 0.0133±0.002 mg/l and 0.0045±0.001 to 0.012±0.0014 mg/l, respectively. The research findings would be helpful in gathering basic knowledge on different behavioural phases through which aquarists can maintain primitive behavioural phase in their aquaria.  Further research work is suggested in the aforesaid theme massively.
