Considering different types of building structure and foundation, the system refers to acceptable ground settlement and acceptable soil loss ratio was established by establishing the control of building’s bending and deformation. The system which adopted Delphi dynamic data binding technology and used Access as database was developed by Delphi7.0 visual tools. The system which named "Analysis system about shield tunnel construction to adjacent buildings" is developed to judge the extent of damage of buildings influenced by adjacent shield tunnel construction.

to evaluate the influence of soil-water coupled and shield tunnel construction induced around soil disturbance damage on ground surface settlement, the process of shield tunnel construction induced around soil disturbance is analyzed, the FLAC3D numerical simulation are carried out, and a newly-modified tunnelling-induced ground settlement calculation method based on disturbance degree of around soil and soil-water coupled is presented, and these methods are applied in case of Beijing Metro 10thLine. It is indicated that considering the influence of the shield tunnelling-induced around soil disturbance damage, and soil-water coupled induced soil properties weakening and the excess pore water pressure dissipating induced soil consolidation to the ground surface settlement are necessary, the calculating result of the newly-modified surface settlement prediction method, and the result FLAC3D numerical simulation all agree well with in-site observed data of Beijing Metro 10th Line.

Considering the interaction of building-soil-tunnel, the grillage beams foundation frame building vertical crossed by Double-O-Tube (DOT) shield tunnel was simulated by 3D MIDAS/ GTS software, and the impact of construction on the building was analyzed. The results show that: the ground settlement trough caused by DOT shield tunnel can be fitted by peck formula; during the passage of the shield tunneling through the building, the settlement of the building increased and settlement trough was wilder; the settlement was stable and had a little rebound when shield machine already passed the building; with the increase of driving distance, the first principal stress P1 increased and then was stable; with the increase of L, the shape of foundation settlement curve changed, and the maximum differential settlement between columns increased but was small.

This paper investigates the influence of moving trajectories on ground loss ratio (GRL) due to the double-O-tube (DOT) tunnelling method. DOT tunnelling has three moving trajectories: pitching, yawing, and rolling, which have different behaviours during tunnel construction compared with those from single circular shield tunnelling. These moving trajectories cause overexcavation during tunnelling. The calculation method of gap area between the DOT shield machine and linings is evaluated in this research. Based on the superposition concept, the modification equation of GLR is proposed, which takes both moving trajectory and grouting volume into consideration. A field DOT tunnelling case is analysed to determine the correlation between moving trajectories and ground settlement. The influence of tail grouting is discussed by adjusting the grouting volume in different periods. The finite element method is also employed by setting the modified ground loss ratio (GLR′) as the contraction increment of linings. Results from both the measured and simulated settlements verify the reasonability of the proposed equation and the effect of moving trajectories on ground loss.

Shield tunneling have varying degrees of impact on the surrounding buildings and the surrounding environment. Based on the shield tunneling of Hefei Subway Line 1 Ma'anshan viaduct, a 3D Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua is be used to simulate the shield tunnel construction and analyze the ground settlement and bridge pile deformation caused by tunnel construction. The numerical modeling results by analyzing the displacement variation and soil affected area at different distances show that when the shield tunnel excavation, the ground settlement becomes smaller with increasing distance from the shield center line of the pile and the maximum ground settlement is 10.778mm. The main deformation of bridge pile is in horizontal direction with a maximum horizontal direction of 2.0758mm. Horizontal displacement changes lager at the top of the pile, along with changes in the horizontal displacement of the pile depth becomes smaller, 15m is a turning point.

Shield tunneling construction inevitably makes impacts on underground utilities. This paper takes some Metro engineering for background, study the underground utilities settlement rules induced by shield tunneling construction. As for shallow-buried and high ground water table tunnel, the coupling of hydrological and stress field must be paid attention. By seepage continuity equation and hydrodynamic equations, study changing situation of the deformation and stress by contrast the effect of seepage. And, contrast the measured value and simulation value to verify the rationality of using fluid-solid coupling method to forecast the ground settlement during tunnel construction.

Focusing on the special stratum conditions of upper-soft and lower-hard fissured rock strata, this paper conducts quantitative research and analysis on the factors influencing the ground settlement caused by shield tunnel construction considering the coupled hydromechanical properties and presents a corresponding numerical simulation-artificial neural network-Bayesian network- (NS-ANN-BN-) based method. In this method, with a subway shield tunnel as the engineering context, three numerical models are established, in which the shield tunnel is located in soft strata, the shield tunnel is located in semisoft and semihard strata, or the shield tunnel is located in hard strata. According to the numerical simulation (NS) calculations, the ground settlement values under the three types of strata are 38.96 mm, 10.42 mm, and 3.13 mm, respectively. A radial basis function artificial neural network (RBF-ANN) is used to establish the nonlinear mapping relationship between the stratum parameters and the ground settlement, and the training samples and test samples are generated through NS to train the RBF-ANN. After the training is completed, the accuracy of the neural network meets the requirements. The elastic moduli of coarse sand~gravel sand k3 and moderately weathered rhyolite k4 and the cohesion of moderately weathered rhyolite c4 are selected as the key parameters. A large number of training cases are generated through the RBF-ANN, and the Bayesian network (BN) prior probability is calculated by self-learning. A BN model of ground settlement for shield tunnel construction in the upper-soft and lower-hard fissured rock strata is established. The BN back analysis method is used to quantitatively analyze the influencing factors of the ground settlement. The results show that when the tunnel is located in soft strata, the surface settlement is mainly affected by parameter k3. When the ground settlement increases considerably, the three parameters all have a strong influence. When the tunnel is located in semisoft and semihard strata, the influence of the three parameters on the ground settlement is weak. When the tunnel is located in hard strata, the ground settlement is mainly affected by parameter k4. When the ground settlement greatly increases, parameters k3 and c4 have less influence. When the tunnel is located in strata with different soft-hard ratios, the ground settlement is mainly affected by the elastic moduli of coarse sand~gravel sand and moderately weathered rhyolite. This method can provide a reference for the ground settlement analysis of shield tunnel construction in areas with similar fissured rock strata.

The construction schemes of metro station driven with enlarging shield tunnels based on the shield tunnel in the upper and lower step method of artificial were first used in the dongshankou station of Guangzhou Metro Line VI and applied successfully in practice. This paper analyses and studies comprehensively the affection to the ground on the metro station driven with enlarging shield tunnels through numerical simulation. The study in this paper is mainly considered the ground settlement and movement when enlarging shield tunneling in the left tunnel. The ground settlement and movement up to a certain extent will affect the safety of the above adjacent buildings. This paper will provide some guidance to the application of this construction method in the future.
