In this report, the β-CD(AN-co-AA) hydrogel was used to remove the thorium(IV) [Th(IV)] from the water system, and the new adsorbent was characterized through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The influences of contact time, pH value, ionic strength, solid-liquid ratio, initial Th(IV) concentration, and temperature on Th(IV) adsorption onto the functional hydrogel were researched. The results showed that the experimental data followed the Langmuir isotherm and the maximum adsorption capacity (qmax) for Th(IV) was 692 mg/g at pH 2.95, which approached the calculated (qe) 682 mg/g. The desorption capacity of Th(IV) in different HNO3 concentrations ranging from 0.005 to 0.5 M was also studied, and the percentage of the maximum desorption was 86.85% in the condition of 0.09 M HNO3. The selectivity of β-CD(AN-co-AA) hydrogel was also be studied, the results indicated that this material retained the good adsorption capacity to Th(IV) even when the Ca2+, Mg2+, or Pb2+ existed in the system. The findings indicate that β-CD(AN-co-AA) can be used as a new candidate for the enrichment and separation of Th(IV), or its analogue actinides, from large-volume solution in practical application.

The optimal removal conditions of heavy metal Coand Nicomposite contaminated soil were studied by the method of oscillating elution. The removal effects of different eluents on Coand Niat different concentrations were discussed. The results showed that the removal efficiency of citric acid with the concentration of 0.2mol•L-1was the best, and the removal rates of Coand Niwere 73.40% and 73.03%.On this basis, the effects of solid-liquid ratio, pH and elution time on the elution effect were investigated. The resultsshow that the trend of the two heavy metals affected by the above three factors is about the same. As the solid-liquid ratio decreases, the elution effect gradually increases, but the growth range is different. As the pH increases, the elution effect of the two heavy metals decreases. In addition, the removal rates of the two heavy metals show a trend of rising first, then stabilizing, and then continuing to rise. Considering economic factors, time cost and treatment effect, the best elution conditions aresolid-liquid ratio of 1: 20, pH value of 2 and elution time of 6 h.

Evaluated with the yield of anise star oil, steam extraction method assisted by microwave is studied for the extraction of anise star oil from Illicium verum Hook. f. in contrast with the traditional steam distillation (SD) method in this paper. The new optimal steam extraction technology assisted by microwave of anise star oil is obtained as: extracting time 80 minutes, solid-liquid ratio(g/mL) 1:7, size of material 80~100 mesh and extracting temperature 80°C. Average yield of anise star oil is up to 11.6% (g/g) under the above technology. Size of material is the most important influencing factor in the extraction process. The optimal traditional steam distillation technology is: extracting time 120 minutes, solid-liquid ratio(g/mL) 1:6, size of material 80~100 mesh and extracting temperature 100°C , the average yield of anise star oil is only 9.81% (g/g). The steam extraction technology assisted by microwave has advantages in both the technological conditions and the yield of anise star oil than the traditional steam distillation technology.

Cyclo crosslinked polyphosphazenes (PPNs) were prepared by Hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene (HCCP) with unique P = n structure and active p-cl group and green compound phloretin. The synthesis pro cess of polyphosphazene nanospheres with Hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene as the main body and phloretin was discussed. The effects of pH value and solid-liquid ratio of solution on the adsorption of uranium by pol yphosphazene nanospheres were studied. The results show that polyphosphazene nanospheres are off white powder in appearance and spherical in microstructure. When the pH value of the solution is 4 and the solid-l iquid ratio is 0.5g ·L-1, the maximum adsorption rate of uranium is obtained.

Biomass pretreatment has an important role in the production of cellulosic bioethanol. In this study, the effectiveness of microwave assisted alkaline pretreatment of algae waste was analysed. After pretreatment, the product was hydrolysed using sulphuric acid. The effects of microwave power, irradiating time, solid–liquid ratio and NaOH concentration were examined. Under the best conditions, the fermentable sugars were converted to cellulosic bioethanol using Saccharomyces Cerevisiae with a bioethanol yield of 1.93 ± 0.01 g/g and a fermentation efficiency of 40.4%. The reducing sugars concentration was 30% higher than that obtained from conventional hydrolysis without pretreatment. The obtained results suggest that microwave assisted alkaline pretreatment is effective in improving the production of cellulosic bioethanol of algae waste compared to that without microwave effect. Considering energy consumption, low microwave power and short microwave irradiation time are favourable for this pretreatment.
