The purpose of this research is to develop the cleaning robot for cleaning the glass curtain wall. The main mechanical structure, adsorption system, cleaning system and control system has been researched. With the adsorption and separation of four sucker group by turns, robot can move on the vertical curtain successfully. Four suckers of the each sucker group are arranged in circumference, so the robot can be adsorbed reliability. According to the working process analysis of the robot, PLC control system is designed. Robot general scheme designed in this paper can achieve heavy-duty work, neat movement, reliable attaching and other requests.

The design of hardware and software structure of PLC control system has been expounded emphatically. The control system human-machine interface and control procedures flow charts have been given.

This paper presents an experimental test room in a curtain wall building where an innovative monitoring and control system was implemented and tested. The proposed solution is composed by an IR-based comfort sensor that measures the PMV (Predicted Mean Vote) index for 2 room’s sub-zones and provides the optimal air temperature set-points. The overall control system includes a distributed sensors and actuators network, also embedded into the façade modules, to measure indoor and outdoor parameters and to regulate fan-coils, windows opening and shadings with a sub-zonal approach. Initial results turn out to provide an energy saving of about 20% with an improvement of thermal/visual comfort and IAQ conditions.

In order to provide a solution of active rectification for linear pumps in pump control system, a novel collaborative rectification structure is conceptually designed in this paper. The fundamental subsystem is the direct drive pump cell (DDPC). A DDPC consists of a cylinder and a valve, and the piston rod and the valve spool are integrated together. The DDPC could be driven by a linear oscillating motor directly. The DDPC working process is logically modeled as a state machine. Certain theorems are given and proved to illustrate the composition principles of a pump system with collaborative rectification. The kinematic flow rate of the collaborative rectification pump is studied. According to the comparison to the existing linear pumps, the novel pump has more structure compactness and control flexibility.

In order to improve the sealing quality and reduce the labor intensity of people, the stepping motors have been adopted in the salver mechanical transmission part and sealing part of the original sealing machine. In the paper, salver feeding and control system of sealing machine have been designed. The results have been obtained such as control principle diagram of the control system, equivalent circuit diagram and outer wiring diagram of PLC and PLC control program. It can realize the automatic control of the sealing machine. Improved sealing machine has the characteristic of simple mechanical transmission parts, advanced control system, small human error, low fault rate and easy operation.

In order to improve the cleaning efficiency of curtain wall, a pneumatic robot is designed. The robot is consists of mobile system, adsorption system and cleaning system. The mobile system is a cross-shaped framework that is driven by the pneumatic system and moves mutually. Vacuum sucker scheme is adopted in the adsorption system. Cleaning brush is driven directly backward and forward by the cylinder. The adsorption and detachment of robot feet sucker, body movement and sequence control of the robot cleaning task are controlled by the PLC. The function that robot can clean glass curtain wall efficiently by the harmony operation is achieved.
