Smart grid could meet the electricity demand against the rapid development of economy and society. The idea to implement smart grid is fully in accordance with the energy developing strategy and it will exert far-reaching impact on the adjustment of energy structure, the sustainable development of society as well as low-carbon economy. Currently, smart grid has attracted wide attention around the world and major countries in the world have been carrying out related researches. This paper describes the background and basic concepts of the smart grid, and takes the United States, European Union and China for example to introduce the development characteristics and typical projects. Besides, this paper analyzes and compares the smart grid in U.S., E.U. and China and gives related suggestions on the key issues of the development of smart grid in China.

As a historical and cultural city, Pingyao has become the focus of domestic and foreign tourists’ concern. However, with the rapid development of tourism, the ancient city of Pingyao is also required to be developed and protected. As a positive response to low-carbon economic model, developing low-carbon tourism is necessary and feasible. With favorable geographical conditions and high attention to policy, through advocating low-carbon tourism consciousness of consumers, developing new products of low-carbon tourism, providing facilities of low-carbon tourism, improving the quality of managers and rationally plan and manage scenic spots, developing low-carbon tourism will provide the new support for the sustainable development of the ancient city.

Currently, the global warming becomes serious and has become the crisis and challenge of all the world. Low carbon economy is the best mode of coping with the global warming and realizing sustainable development of economy and society. At present, The United States is still in the first place of greenhouse gas are worth of using for reference in developed countries. At present, the United States is still the biggest country that exhausts greenhouse gases, such as CO2;however, carbon emissions in China can not be ignored. Recent research indicates that it is valuable to learn from developed countries carbon or energy taxes policy.

As the urban new developing strategy and mode, low-carbon economy meets the requirements for the sustainable development in the urban area. On the basis of development analysis for the low-carbon economy home and abroad, this paper illustrates the challenges that urban area meets in the process of low-carbon economy and sustainable development by taking the example of Baotou, as well as making proposals and suggestions accordingly.

The low-carbon economy is attention increasingly all over the world, and which has become the best economic mode to cope with global warming. And it is the important way to achieve the low carbon economy, optimize the energy structure through developing the biomass power generation and other new energy. In recent years, the development of biomass power generation in China is rapid, there are also some problems. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the biomass power generation industry development, especially the installed capacity of biomass power generation. In this paper, the authors used the GM (1, 1) model to predict the installed capacity of biomass power generation, which can reveal the evolution of things under the circumstances of less data and less information. The installed capacity prediction from 2011 to 2020 showed that the results given by this model were reliable, and it is feasible to predict the installed capacity of biomass power generation.

The rapid development of China’ s economy and society is obtained at the cost of the consumption of energy, especially fossil energy. And the coal-based energy consumption structure enables China to become the largest carbon dioxide emitter in the world. With the enhancement of global greenhouse effect, ecological environment deterioration is becoming increasingly serious. Carbon emission reduction has become one of the most important international issues. As one of the fastest growing economies in the world, China has also actively responded to energy conservation and emission reduction. As a major energy province in China, Shaanxi province plays a critical role in the national energy supply, and it was also listed as the first batch of low-carbon pilot areas in 2010. In recent years, relying on its own energy advantages, Shaanxi has witnessed rapid economic growth, but the resource stock and environmental carrying capacity cannot withstand the high intensity of resource consumption and environmental pollution under the traditional resource mode. As the first batch of “low-carbon development” pilot provinces, adjusting the industrial structure, changing the mode of economic development and realizing “low-carbon economy” have become the urgent problems to be solved in Shaanxi Province.

With China's rapid economic development, the construction industry plays an important role in promoting both economic development and urban construction. However, due to the characteristics of construction industry itself, it is seen the most important industry as a move towards a low-carbon economy. So we should bring in the concept of low-carbon and establish low-carbon awareness. Meanwhile, in recent years, for the science and technology are making rapid development around the world, new technology and materials are emerging, along with the architectural design constantly changing people's thinking patterns. The process of scientific influencing architecture is gradually accelerating and it is necessary for researches to have a greater emphasis on concepts and methods of science than aesthetics and awareness.

Low-carbon economy is a new path which our country is taking to develop economy. As one of the provinces in the southeast coast of China, Fujian develop a low-carbon economy directly relating to the transformation of its economic growth, conservation of energy, improvement of productivity, innovation of technology and so on. We can say that the development of low-carbon economy directly affects the sustainable development of economy and society in Fujian province of China. Therefore, firstly, we believe that government and enterprise should optimize the allocation of resource and improve the utilization of resource. Secondly, the tax policies are supposed to adjust to stimulate the development of environmental protection industry. Thirdly, government should accelerate the construction of infrastructures. Fourthly, the legal system needs to be built and perfected so as to promote the development of low-carbon economy. At last, the investment of techniques is supposed to increase to a certain degree, and the ability of innovation and management of enterprises should be promoted to adapt the development of low-carbon economy of Fujian province.

Low carbon economy makes effect on employment. It shows that low carbon is not only a kind of life philosophy. With the development of new energy technology, it has risen to national economic strategy, and may become a new economic growth point. At the same time, the adjustment of energy structure, not only benefits to the sustainable development road of economic development to" green" , and also brings in new hope for improving the current employment situation. The employment situation of college graduates is an important index of social inspection and evaluation of the quality of running a school; it is one of the core competitiveness of schools. Graduate employment status relates to the school reputation directly. This paper studies that how colleges and universities do the employment work of graduates.

This paper developed an optimal model of low-carbon urban agglomeration on the base of energy structure under uncertainty. The case study shows that the carbon intensity was decreased by [32.19, 41.20] (%) and energy intensity was reduced by [34.08, 43.19] (%) compared with those in 2010; meanwhile, the carbon intensity and energy intensity in the core area was reduced by [50.88, 54.11] (%) and [51.24, 54.57] (%) respectively, compared with those in 2010. The optimized scheme could not only meet the requirements of 12th Five-Year Planning Outline of Controlling Greenhouse Gas Emission, but also complied with the requirements of regional planning targets. The established model also provided more decision-making space for the sustainable development of low-carbon urban agglomeration.

Aiming at six big emerging economies in the world, namely, China, United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France and Japan, this paper analyzes their carbon emission conditions based on the data of carbon emission, energy consumption and economic development during 1970—2008 from the statistics in the World Development Index Database (WDI) of the World Bank, and carries out empirical analyses based on theories & policies and driving factors of their low carbon economy. It is found that energy intensity, economic growth and urbanization progress exert more remarkable influences on carbon intensity, and the effect of carbon emission reduction depending on government fiancé is not sustainable. Thus, this paper is intended to explain that China needs more actively promoting green sustainable towns with its sustainable development, and developing urban low carbon industries and buildings for more civilized ecological towns.
