In blanking operations the cut edge of the sheet metal is not clear due to fracturing and burr formation by the shearing process. For precision parts with high quality and dimensional accuracy, often secondary machining is necessary. Shaving, in particular, counter-shaving, is a shearing operation to improve the cut edge quality of a blanked part or punched hole in two stages. This paper introduces a progressive die tool to realize the counter-shaving process on a single acting press. In order to realize the shaving operation in the opposite punching direction, the punch needs to move in counter direction. The burr and fracture zone left on the sheet metal after the first stage will be removed by the counter-shaving operation. By choosing the right process parameter a sharpedge transition is formed, without any rollover, between the upper surface of the sheet metal and the sheared-edge. Different punch geometries as well as the corresponding process parameters were part of the research work in order to improve the cut edge. Experimental and FEM results are presented for two sheet metal materials at three thicknesses.

In shearing and blanking lubrication is widely used. For future production one aim is to decrease the use of oil or to do without such lubricants. For this purpose it is interesting, if there is an influence of using lubricants on the cut edge quality. Therefore numerical analysis and experiments are carried out with a blanking tool, installed in a servo press, to analyze the cut edge quality of shearing of aluminum 6082-T6. Using FE-simulation with Lemaitre’s damage model, the process is simulated with different friction coefficients for simulate different kinds of lubrication. In this paper the circle punch with 16 mm diameter is used (piercing). In the experiments the cut edge quality and the maximum shearing force do not differ significantly. With a friction coefficient of 0.2 it is possible to give the right cut edge quality by using the damage model of Lemaitre.

Development of new technologies and processes for small batch and prototype production of sheet metal components has a very important role in the recent years. The reason is the quick and efficient response to the market demands. For this reasons new manufacturing concepts have to be developed in order to enable a fast and reliable production of complex components and parts without investing in special forming machines. The need for flexible forming processes has been accelerated during the last 15 years, and by these developments the technology reaches new extensions. Incremental sheet metal forming (ISMF) may be regarded as one of the promising developments for these purposes. A comprehensive research work is in progress at the University of Miskolc (Hungary) to study the effect of important process parameters with particular emphasis on the shape and dimensional accuracy of the products and particularly on the formability limitations of the process. In this paper, some results concerning the determination of forming limit diagrams for single point incremental sheet metal forming will be described.

Remained burrs on edges of the parts after metal cutting operations may cause many problems in the production process and in the quality of products, therefore the burrs must be completely removed. In the paper, the authors give an outline of the elements and the technical and economical influences of the burr formation, and the characteristics of the burrs and the burr formation mechanisms. The authors present some special processes that are suitable for deburring of small pieces (e.g. Magnetic Abrasive Deburring), and a frequently applied mechanical process: power brushing. The authors have carried out many investigations regarding the magnetic abrasive deburring of small, blanked sheet metal parts, furthermore the machine deburring of large-sized metal workpieces by carbide-reinforced cylindrical brushes. The detailed conditions, data, results and conclusions of these deburring experiments are treated in the paper too.

Ahead of the 2019 general election which is divided into two stages, namely the Legislative election and the Presidential election. This event is the right moment to find out the political participation of the people at the grass-roots level while at the same time seeing the interaction between the people in the grass-roots and political parties. The interaction that wants to be seen is what forms of political behavior and community participation at the grassroots, as well as how political parties behave in interacting with this community. Then the important point that is also seen is how political parties behave in involving and seeking to raise support from the community. In the end, through this research, it will be known the quality of political participation from the public and electoral political parties in 2019.

The manifolds of airbag inflator were used to be produced by sheet-metal forming. It comprised at least eleven forming stages to achieve its final shape. Uneven wall thickness and poor dimensional accuracy were the common defects because the planar anisotropy of sheet-metal caused earing on the cup rim. In this study, the cup-shape workpiece is obtained from backward-extrusion of billets, followed by two stages of end-forming of tube and three stages of hole-piercing. During the end-forming production, the tool life of the first forming stage was the most severe because it applies close-die forging to increase its rim thickness. Therefore, in addition to the design of prestressed die insert, special attendance is paid to the partition of the die insert to further alleviate the stress level. The optimization of die insert was aided by the finite element analysis of DEFORM software. The results show that by lowering the parting line, the stress level can be minimized. The tool life can therefore be improved.

A blanking method which can punch the sheet metal without burr is presented, this method is divided into two stages: preloading deformation and blanking. And the FEM software DEFORM-2D is used to simulate the blanking process of burr-free of stainless steel AISI304. By changing the size of relative clearance, analyzing the quality of cross-section and blanking process. The result shows that the clearance has an effect on blanking force and the length of shear zone. which provides the certain fundamental for predicting the defects of blanking pieces and designing the molds. And this method has an important application value in manufacturing engineering.

I would like to thank the editor for the place and possibility to write a brief contribution to the problematic of supervisors. I know it is possible to write about this topic more than one page. Here, only a very short kind of information is presented toward this problem and maybe in the future, it will be possible to read more about this. The right supervisor is one of the most important persons in the life of a PhD student. This cooperation aims to the quality of work (about the quality, I do not want to write, because this concept is very abstract and in the eyes of every person it means something else), next it influences the awareness, what the research work means. This relationship has an influence on the future life of students, as personal to work. We will be talking about the work life of the student. We can meet different types of supervisors, probably the worst one is the one, who has got students only for his own benefit (financial support – it depends on the country; the necessity for the next academic degree; publication purposes; students’ work on the department; etc.). In this case students are dependent on their own skills and help from the others, except the supervisor.

The mission of the operating room is to provide an efficient framework for surgical interventions, programmed or emergency cases because patients increasingly claim the right to the best possible quality of care. The objective of this study was to improve the quality of care service produced in the operating room of the Regional Hospital of Ngaoundéré. It concerned and observational descriptive study going from August 1st to September 30th, 2016. Data collection was carried out through direct observation and interview. Results reveals from this study that, 46.66% of the operating room infrastructures were not up to the required international standards. Skin cleaning was carried out in 31 % of the cases by standard products but the different steps were not respected. Concerning hand washing and preliminaries to surgical scrub, it was a forgotten practice or non-applied practice in the regional hospital of Ngaoundéré. The surgical disinfection of hands by friction in its two stages were not observed normally in 75.70 % and 97.10 % respectively. We realized that only 34.4 % of observations regarding the required time allowed for surgical friction was equal to or a little greater to the standards.

In the last decade, the concept of progressive microforming has emerged and developed gradually, which is considered as an efficient and promising method to fabricate the micro-scaled part. Micro-cylinder parts, micro-flanged part, and multi-flanged microparts are representative micro bulk parts by the progressive microforming system using sheet metal. In these cases, many efforts focus on the forming process, such as microblanking and microextrusion. Meanwhile, the quality of the fabricated parts also attracts attention. In this paper, an intensive review on the development of progressive microforming technologies and the formed parts is presented, and the influence of size effect to dimensional accuracy, material flow, geometrical feature, and fracture is also discussed.
