Abstract. Lithium-manganese spinels obtained by sol-gel method were studied by XRD, impedance spectroscopy, electric conductivity and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Heating of low-temperature spinels up to 630° C leads to the formation of spinels with lattice constants close to stoichiometric high-temperature spinels, which exhibit no phase transition around room temperature and have good electric conductivity.

A ceramics sample of LiTaO3 was prepared using a sol-gel method. The sample is annealed at 750 °C for 48 hours. X-ray diffraction analysis indicate the formation of single phase, rhombohedral structure. An ac impedance study was used to analyse the conductivity of LiTaO3 at room temperature and at various temperatures.

<p>Pure phase Li2TiO3 nano-particles were synthesized by the sol-gel method and the structural properties were examined with X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. The latter showed that these materials, heat treated at relatively low temperature 900°C during 4h compared to the conventional solid-state reaction which calcination temperature is about 900–1100°C for 10 h; crystallize in the monoclinic phase without the presence of secondary phases. The microstructure of the LT ceramic (sintered at 1100°C) were determined by SEM and a good crystalline nature was observed with an average of granular size 2 μm. Moreover, the impedance spectroscopy showed at a higher temperature of 500°C the low-frequency arc due either to the grain boundary or sample-electrode charge transport processes.</p>

AbstractWe have studied the pyroelectric properties of the PLT(10) thin film deposited on a p-doped poly-Si electrode by using the sol-gel method. Measurement of the dielectric constant as a function of temperature shows the typical characteristics of a ferroelectric. The dielectric constant reaches a maximum at 295°C, which can be thought of as the Curie temperature. The PLT(10) thin film on p-doped poly-Si fabricated in this research shows excellent pyroelectric properties. The pyroelectric coefficient and the fiqures of merit, Fv and FD at room temperature are measured as 5.76 × 10−8 C/cm2 °C, 1.17 × 10−10C-cm/J and 0.93 × 10−8C-cm/J, respectively.
