Magnetic properties and giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) of CuBe/Fe20Co6Ni74 electroplated wires was studied for frequency of 1 MHz and the amplitude of the driving current of 20 mA with focus on the development of magnetic field detectors of particular types. The possibility of quantitative ferrofluid concentration measurements was demonstrated. GMI of electroplated wire can be useful for the study of the dynamic properties of the ferrofluid. GMI of the electroplated wires in the non-uniform field created by the permanent magnet was studied in the configuration adapted for automatic control lines, machinery control, and positioning systems.

The influence of ac driving current on the frequency dependence in the range from 0.1 to 20 MHz of the giant magnetoimpedance effect (GMI) of glass-covered amorphous microwires were investigated. The dependence of GMI for a range of values of ac current (from 0.5 mA to 20 mA) flowing along the microwire has been measured in as-prepared samples. The double-peak feature is changed to the single-peak festure and the magnetic field at which the value of GMI reaches a maximum should increase with the higher the amplitude of the ac at low frequency. It was found that the change of GMI related to circular coercivity.

In this paper we present studies on the frequency dependence of the magneto-impedance in the range of 0.1–2 MHz for Fe73.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1 and Fe73.5Si16.5B6Nb3Cu1 nanocrystalline ribbons, which differ in the sign of the magnetostriction constant. As cast samples were annealed in Ar atmosphere at 560℃, with and without an DC and AC magnetic field. At a fixed frequency, an improvement in the field annealed 13.5% Si samples, when compared with the zero field annealed ones, can be observed. On the 16.5% Si field annealed samples only a reduction of magneto-impedance ratio could be observed, when compared to the non-field annealed ones. Analysis of the magnetic properties and X-ray data shows that the observed changes in magneto-impedance effect are consequence of the induced magnetic anisotropy.

Abstract Based on the Monte Carlo simulation, a mixed-spin (5/2, 2, 3/2) Ising model is constructed to investigate the dynamic magnetic properties of antiferromagnetic/ferromagnetic YMnO 3 /FM bilayer under the existence of a time-dependent magnetic field. The effects of exchange interaction, oscillating magnetic field as well as temperature are involved in this work. Masses of numerical results of the dynamic order parameter, susceptibility, internal energy, and blocking temperature are obtained with diverse physical parameters. Moreover, the phase diagrams and the hysteresis loops of the system are discussed in detail as well for a better understanding of the dynamic properties of the present system.

Longitudinal giant magnetoimpedance effect of [Fe21Ni79/Cu]5/Cu/[Fe21Ni79/Cu]5 film element was investigated depends on stray magnetic field of epoxy magnetic composite with 30 % weight concentration of iron oxide magnetic microparticles. Configuration of an experiment was a model of thrombus detection in a blood vessel. Stray magnetic field was varied by movement of a magnetic composite above the element perpendicular to the long side. Composite was either magnetized or not to the state of remanence. As the magnetic composite approaches the GMI element, MI ratio curves are smoothed and shifted along the field axis and maximum value of the MI ratio decreases. Magnetic properties of magnetic composite and film element were investigated as well.

This paper presented a novel analytical method for calculating magnetic field in the slotted air gap of spoke-type permanent-magnet machines using conformal mapping. Firstly, flux density without slots and complex relative air-gap permeance of slotted air gap are derived from conformal transformation separately. Secondly, they are combined in order to obtain normalized flux density taking account into the slots effect. The finite element (FE) results confirmed the validity of the analytical method for predicting magnetic field and back electromotive force (BEMF) in the slotted air gap of spoke-type permanent-magnet machines. In comparison with FE result, the analytical solution yields higher peak value of cogging torque.

The paper presents the results of structural and microstructural studies for the bulk Fe65Co10Y5B20 and Fe63Co10Y7B20 alloys. All the rods obtained by the injection casting method were fully amorphous. It was found on the basis of analysis of distribution of hyperfine field induction that the samples of Fe65Co10Y5B20 alloy are characterised with greater atomic packing density. Addition of Y to the bulk amorphous Fe65Co10Y5B20 alloy leads to the decrease of the average induction of hyperfine field value. In a strong magnetic field (i.e. greater than 0.4HC), during the magnetization process of the alloys, where irreversible processes take place, the core losses associated with magnetization and de-magnetization were investigated.
