Since its discovery in the beginning of the XXth century, squalene has been recognized as an important link in metabolic pathways. More recently, it has been further recognized as an intermediate step in the biosynthesis of cholesterol. Its well known antioxidant capability, together with its ability to protect skin, improve the immune system, and modulate the lipid profile, confer a high potential to this natural substance, which is spread all across the body structure, though mainly in the epithelial tissues, and in particular the skin sebum. This review will focus mainly on its major properties, which are related to anticancer properties, the maintenance of the oxidation/antioxidation balance, and its antiaging capabilities. Although the substance was originally obtained from shark liver oil, it is currently possible to obtain useful amounts from vegetable sources like extra virgin olive oil, therefore avoiding the dependence on capturing the aforementioned animal species. Recognized as one of the key components of the Mediterranean dietary style, squalene is necessary to adequately manage oxygen and its derivatives in every cell of the body. Key words: aging, antioxidants, cancer, cholesterol, diet, olive oil, squalene

Abstract: In the beginning of 2020, a newly emerged virus, now named SARS-CoV-2, began to spread in China. After four months, it has reached all over the globe, infecting more than 2.5 million people. Currently, there are no proved treatments available. However, in social media, false information about alcohol consumption and its role against the virus is spreading. We described a victim of these false facts who presented with reduced eyesight due to alcohol drinking, a few days later showed symptoms of COVID-19 and, even though treated, lost his eyesight partially. Alcohol taking has no preventive or curing effect on COVID-19 and negatively impacts the body and immune system, which, therefore, should not be considered a treatment for COVID-19 disease.

The state of development of the internal reproductive organs of male and female Oebalus poecilus (Dallas) as well as the body fat amount in the abdominal cavity during hibernation, of individuals sampled in bamboo litter in Eldorado do Sul (30º02'S and 51°23'W), RS, Brazil was investigated. Females and males showed the abdominal cavity filled with body fat in the beginning of the hibernation phase. The decrease in fat reserve level occurred from August on for males and from October on for females. Ovaries and testis doubled in length and tripled in width from immature to the reproductive phase. Male sexual maturation occurred in the hibernation sites while for females it occurred later on outside of the sites. Reproductive organ immaturity and abdominal body fat hypertrophy characterized the diapause of O. poecilus.

Synopsis This case illustrates the rationale for adopting employee ownership, and difficulties in implementing employee empowerment beyond investment. In the beginning it focuses on why Jerry Pritchett, one of the co-founders of Pritchett Controls, decided to convert it to an employee-owned company. In the body of the case, it details the efforts of the company to operate under its new ownership structure in an increasingly competitive environment. Although Pritchett established employee owners, only selected High Performance Work Systems (HPWS) practices have been implemented. The issue that reader must grapple with is whether other HPWS practices should be adopted or not. Research methodology Primary data were collected by interviewing eight managers including the current and former CEO at two of the firm’s three locations. Secondary data were used to supplement industry and competitive information. Relevant courses and levels Human resources courses, especially those that focus on strategic human resource management, organizational development, and how high performance organizations can be built, would be most appropriate for this case. Theoretical bases The primary theoretical foundations for this submission are shared entrepreneurship and HPWS. Knowledge of leadership, employee ownership, human resources, corporate governance, organizational culture and strategy would also be helpful in analyzing this case.

There were signs of the first civilization known to humanity for more than 6000 years BC in the north of Iraq have disappeared this civilization to appear after 500 years in southern Iraq, the Sumerian civilization, which was considered as the opinion of scientists or civilizations, exceeds the impact to Asia and the countries that had been in contact (Sumerians) and see them today in other towns and villages. In subsequent periods of time appeared distinct personalities to their nature, religious, social, special clothing with clothes seem especially long. “Frenzy of bodies” — contemporary pornography and body medicalization. Historical-medical implicationsThe author believes that pornography of last few decades has gone changes which have not occurred since ancient times. These changes were initiated especially by the processes of medicalization and, therefore, rationalization of the human body. Stripped from the odium of the sacrum sacred things, the mystery or the cosmological battle between Good and Evil, the body has been subjected to instrumentalisation in different dimensions. The last stage of changes that can be observed in contemporary pornography is its “somatization”. It is defined by the author as a functional and qualitative “reorientation” which means that pornographic narration is deprived of presenting emotional, relational or moral elements and aspects. The narration does not focus just on the “technology” of the sexual act, but merely concentrates on the body, even going deep inside.

Abstract The pre-adolescent age is basic in the beginning of the development of body kinematics. During this age the body structure needs to continuously search for stabilization due to the modification in body segment lengths. This behavior can evolve into incorrect postural attitudes that, if not properly treated, can lead to behaviors that are difficult to recover with advancing age. These incorrect attitudes require an accurate and early diagnosis that can be put in place by expert doctors and clinicians. As well known, sporting activity in this age can help the development of proprioceptive apparatus and the musculoskeletal one. Volleyball is considered a complete sport thanks to the wide range of actions necessary for a match. Following this evaluation, it was decided to carry out a monitoring study of young volleyball players in what is one of the capitals of Italian volleyball, i.e. Modena. To achieve this objective, in this work, 97 female volleyball players have been analyzed during their adolescent and pre-adolescent age. The study has the objective to collect data and design an exercise routine for the training to prevent postural problems. Finally, the data have been analyzed and the most representative ones have been reported in this paper.

The article is devoted to the analysis of burial 2 from the Chernyakhiv culture cemetery Komariv-1 (Kelmentsy district, Chernivtsi region). The northern burial, destroyed in ancient time, belonged to a woman. The text provides a description of the archaeological complex, the reconstruction of the original appearance and the gradual reconstruction of the destruction process. Based on the known data about the costume of the bearers of the Chernyakhiv culture, the peculiarities of the funeral rite, the peculiarities of the placement of the grave goods, it was possible to reconstruct the original appearance of the completely destroyed burial. Thanks to anthropological determinations of the position of individual human bones in the burial, it was possible to determine the sequence of destruction of the skeleton and grave goods. After entering the grave pit, the skull was separated. The skull was then placed face down in the center of the grave. After that, the chest was destroyed. The bones of the legs were inserted in a certain sequence (crossed bones, inverted bones, mirror-embedded bones). The last stage of the destruction of the burial was the destruction of the skeleton of the sheep (food-offering) and turning over and breaking the utensils in the burial. After the burial was destroyed, the burial pit remained open. According to the information received, the burial was destroyed after the decomposition of the soft tissues of the body, but before the decomposition of the leather elements of the suit. According to the results of the study, the following conclusions were made: • Even a completely destroyed burial can be reconstructed to its original appearance. • Different areas of the skeleton were subjected to different manipulations. The thorax is destroyed, the skull and bones of the legs are re-inserted in a certain (non-anatomical) order. • Part of the inventory (at least one silver fibula) was removed from the burial, but the main purpose was not looting but the destruction of the burial. • Burial occurred between the decomposition of the soft tissues of the body and the leather elements of the suit. Key words: Chernyakhiv culture, funeral rite, destroyed burials, reconstruction of funeral rite, post-funeral rite.

1. The larva of Spatangus purpureus reaches its last stage, which is characterized by its possession of six pairs of arms, in the course of three weeks after fertilization. 2. The paired arms develop in the following order: postoral, antero-lateral, postero-dorsal, pre-oral, postero-lateral, and antero-dorsal. The posterior process appears about the same time as the antero-lateral arms become distinct. 3. These six pairs of arms and the unpaired process are each supported by a calcareous rod. Of these calcareous rods one can distinguish two classes which differ morphologically from each other, viz. the simple and the composite. 4. To the class of simple rods belong the antero-lateral, pre-oral, postero-lateral, and antero-dorsal rods. They are either direct prolongations or branches of the three arms produced from one of the calcification centres. They are originally horizontal (parallel to the surface of the body) in position, and are homologous with the body-, recurrent, and horizontal rods 5. The remaining rods, viz. the post-oral and postero-dorsal rods and the aboral spike (posterior rod) are composite. They are each composed of three parallel rods connected by transverse beams so as to give a latticed appearance. Each of the parallel rods is a branch given out vertically from an arm of the calcification centre. 6. The larval skeleton of Spatangus pur pure us is characterized chiefly by (a) more or less considerable length of the unfenestrated proximal portions in the latticed rods, (b) fusion of the tips of the ventral horizontal rods forming thickened joint, (c) overlapping of the bocty-rods near their posterior ends, and subsequent fusion of this part so as to form an oblique cross, (d) rather simple appearance of the postero-lateral rods, and (e) formation of a calcareous plate on each side of the stomach in the oldest stage.
