An important personality of the Swedish cultural space and of the world diplomatic space, Dag Hammarskjöld (1905–1961), left to posterity, besides his literary works, his economic and diplomatic contributions, the most important spiritual autobiography from the Swedish protestant space of the 20th century. Discovered shortly after his death and published by his disciples in 1963 in an English version in London (at Faber and Faber Publishing House), Markings presents the struggle of the author with himself, illustrated in a great diversity of styles, from haiku poems to short meditations, pastels (lyrics or prose), biblical exegeses and so on. Apart from the description of his spiritual life, his relationship with God, or his conception of spiritual issues, the work also contains some interesting references to aspects of political theology. These aspects represent the subject of our research. After a short presentation of his life and activity and of the influence of his family on his education, we will try to present the way in which aspects of political theology are emphasised in the aforementioned work and which are some important elements of the author’s conception of this subject. In this respect, we will resort not only to his spiritual autobiography, but also to the most important writings about him, published by specialists in diplomacy, literature and politics. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find theologians who wrote about his spiritual autobiography (except some who talk about him in theological dictionaries). Therefore, one of the main strengths of this research will be the fact that it presents a theological approach to Dag Hammarskjöld.

Nicolas Berdyaev’s spiritual autobiography was, unfortunately, the least well-known of his publications. Therefore, we will try to shed light on it, emphasising its philosophical and political value. We will describe the manner in which the author speaks in order to deepen our understanding of it. We will also consider the genesis of some of his works, noting the influence his spiritual experiences had on them. We will emphasise some of the main political aspects his spiritual autobiography contains, showing its usefulness in areas like political theology. Therefore, we will present the interdisciplinary value of this autobiography, together with its potential for building bridges between spirituality and different areas of science (theology, psychology, philosophy, politics, history, philology and possibly sociology) in an analysis dedicated to providing a holistic understanding of his work. We will observe how his spiritual experiences informed his way of thinking, allowing him to critique topics like modernity, a system based on freedom, love and human dignity and a profound understanding of eschatology as the accomplishment of the world and its mission.Contribution: The research investigates Berdyaev’s memorial work showing why it can be considered a spiritual autobiography and it emphasises also its relevance for the philosophical area.

<p>The reunion of a man with God is the subject of a medieval text which aggregates excerpts from the Bible and Arabic alchemical texts that had recently become available in Europe. The Aurora Consurgens personifies God as Wisdom, a spiritual being who not only formed the world in the beginning but is also a guide to men to return to God subsequent to their separation at the Fall. The union of feminine Wisdom and a man is aligned with pairs of opposites such as spirit and soul, and is also conflated with the union of a man and a woman. While the text is perhaps falsely ascribed to St. Thomas, it is consistent with his ideas so that it may be explicated using his writings on the Trinity, psychology, angels, and Greek philosophy. From there, correspondence is established with C. G. Jung‘s concept of archetypes, and the text is subsequently interpreted from the perspective of analytical psychology. It is identified how interaction of archetypes associated with the union of a man and a woman provide an explanation for the process of redemption given in the Aurora. A similar process of redemption is identified in other writings from the beginning of the Christian era up to the modern teachings of the Catholic Church.</p>

The article is an attempt to defi ne the subject and genre of the book Matka odchodzi (2000), ascribed to Tadeusz Różewicz. Its authorship and composition, including the role of photographs, are analysed, as is the effect of transferring previously published poems and prose pieces to a new context. The book might be described as a spiritual autobiography (confession) with elements of witness and of challenge to the reader, as in Małgorzata Czermińska’s work on autobiographical writing; but other possible defi nitions are also considered, including two of Różewicz’s own rather surprising suggestions: a beggar’s threnody, a little book that is a prayer. The Marian piety of Stefania Różewicz is seen to infl uence even unconsciously her supposedly „godless” son’s way of seeing the world.

The transformation of cultural values in Russia. An outline of the issue of culture in the broadest sense of the world is the entirety of various manifestations of human life. Therefore it is one of the most commonly used concepts in humanistic works. One can refer to culture by raising a number of topics – arts, literature and human mind. When there is a need for a precise definition of culture, certain problems occur. Polish scholar Bronisław Malinowski points out that culture can be understood as human activity in general, including ideas, religious and spiritual issues, art, literature, and politics. Such an approach to culture can lead to the neglection of the historical process. This article attempts to draw the scope and content of contemporary Political Theology, based on a review of the 2013 publication titled, Political Theology: Contemporary challenges and future directions, edited by Francis Schüssler Fiorenza, Klaus Tanner and Michael Welker. The book is a collection of contributions which explore the contemporary content and potential future of the subject discipline. ‘Political Theology’ as critical theology and as a ‘theology with its face towards the world’ is committed to ‘justice, peace and the integrity of creation’ and is multifaceted. It represents a discipline with which theologians reflect on political-theological objectives across continents and paradigms. The article concludes with a brief investigation of the implications of insights offered in the book for the South African context (as part of the African continent).

The subject of my research interests in this article is a poem by Wojciech Kudyba titled “Dzie-sięć słów Ojca” (Ten words of the Father), whose philosophical and religious dimension directs our attention to the personalism which was close to John Paul II’s convictions. Kudyba is a poet of reflection, philosophical and religious pondering on the meaning of existence. This is evidenced by clear allusions and references to the Bible, as well as the relational character of the work, focused on building a spiritual relationship. In the analyzed poem, there is a strong desire to establish a spiritual relationship, a deep, intimate relationship with God. The world of spiritual experiences presented in this way finds its peculiar expression in the language of poetic images. The desire to meet the Father somehow anchors faith in a dream. While interpreting Kudyba’s poem, I will not be dealing with the problem of sacrum in literature. I will rather refer to the way in which the well-known archetypes and symbols function in poetry. I will be interested in the acts of creative consciousness, heading for sublimation, or creation of substitute reality. Since sublimation is the dominant and constitutive feature of poetry in the dimension of a peculiar experience of emotionally designed reality, I will try to enrich the leading structural analysis in this work with a few threads (or perhaps insights) derived from Gaston Bachelard’s epistemology.

<p>The subject of this paper is the relevance of Rabindranath Tagore’s spirituality to the challenges we face in the world today. Tagore’s mission was ‘to work towards the true union of East and West’. The spiritual worldview Tagore brought to the West from 1912 onwards has been defined by Bengali scholars as ‘the integration of man and nature and God’. This can be expressed in more modern terms as ‘deep ecology, deep anthropology and political theology’, themes that run through the texts of the lectures Tagore gave on his foreign tours. He warned that the machine age would be disastrous for planet and people and urged a return to traditional village based society. He predicted that the dehumanising and destructive modern systems would come to an end, making way for a ‘new chapter in history’. The present crisis of democratic capitalism could lead to disruption or disaster, or else be an opportunity for relocalisation such as Tagore advocated. Movements for world change today focussed on taking responsibility for looking after ourselves and the environment directly through community involvement and decision making could be encouraged and affirmed by association with one of the greatest thinkers of the modern age.</p>

The subject of alignment is not new to the world of education. Today however, it has come to mean different things and to have a heuristic value in education according to research in different areas, not least for neuroscience, and to attention to skills and to the alternation framework.This paper, after looking at the classic references that already attributed an important role to alignment in education processes, looks at the strategic role of alignment in the current context, outlining the shared construction processes and focusing on some of the ways in which this is put into effect.Alignment is part of a participatory, enactive approach that gives a central role to the interaction between teaching and learning, avoiding the limits of behaviourism, which has a greater bias towards teaching, and cognitivism/constructivism, which focus their attention on learning and in any case, on that which separates a teacher preparing the environment and a student working in it.

Each religious sect has its own characteristics, whether fundamental, radical, or religious. One of them is Insan Al-Kamil Congregation, which is in Cijati, South Cikareo Village, Wado District, Sumedang Regency. This congregation is Sufism with the concept of self-purification as the subject of its teachings. So, the purpose of this study is to reveal how the origin of Insan Al-Kamil Congregation, the concept of its purification, and the procedures of achieving its purification. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a normative theological approach as the blade of analysis. In addition, the data generated is the result of observation, interviews, and document studies. From the collected data, Jamaah Insan Al-Kamil adheres to the core teachings of Islam and is the tenth regeneration of Islam Teachings, which refers to the Prophet Muhammad SAW. According to this congregation, self-perfection becomes an obligation that must be achieved by human beings in order to remember Allah when life is done. The process of self-purification is done when human beings still live in the world by knowing His God. Therefore, the peak of self-purification is called Insan Kamil.
