Over half of all students enrolling at a particular university in KwaZulu-Natal fail to complete a degree. This article is wanting to determine to what extent the marks they obtain for English and Mathematics at school impact on their probability of graduation at this university. In addressing this problem, other student specific factors associated with their gender, race and the type of school they have attended need also to be properly accounted for. To provide answers for this study, the performance of 24 392 students enrolling at the university over the period 2004 to 2012 was followed until they graduated or dropped out from their studies. A structural equation model was fitted because it allows one to separate a direct effect from that of an indirect effect. Gender, race and school background were found to be very significant with males, Black Africans and students coming from a less privileged school background having a smaller probability associated with eventually graduating from this university. Males tend to perform better than females in Mathematics, with females performing better males in English. More importantly, however, a single percentage point increase in one’s mark for English increases the probability associated with graduating from this university far more than would be the case if their Mathematics mark were to increase by a single percentage point. In the light of these mediated results, perhaps this university should be directing their efforts more towards improving the English (rather than mathematical) literacy of students entering the university.

This study aims to analyze the relevant indicators of spending quality in measuring the quality of regional spending as well as the relationship between the quality of regional spending and the development performance of the regencies/cities of Banten Province. This study uses secondary data from the governance, financial and performance development of the districts/cities of Banten Province between 2009 – 2013. The Data are analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Model (PLS–SEM) using SmartPLS software version 2.0 & SmartPLS version 3.0. The Results show that there are 21 indicators out of 40 indicators that are relevant in measuring the quality of the districts/cities spending in Banten Province. The change of the spending quality map from 2009 to 2013 shows that the quality of North Banten (Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, Tangerang Selatan, Serang Regency, Serang City and Cilegon City) is better than South Banten (Pandeglang and Lebak). In addition, the estimation results from the model used indicate that the quality of the region spending of Banten Provinve has a positive relationship with the performance of development with the value of the indicator 0,678. The academic transition to university is a turning point in young people’s lifestyles. However, studies to date have focused on student behaviour within the classroom context, rather than on the consequences it may have on their lifestyle. This study aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence of university students on their resilience, academic stress, exam anxiety, and eating habits related to the Mediterranean diet at the university stage. This study was carried out with the participation of 733 male and 614 female students from the University of Almeria, aged between 19 and 27. A structural equation model was made to explain the causal relationships between the variables. The results showed emotional intelligence positively predicted resilience. In turn, test anxiety and academic stress were negatively predicted by resilience. Finally, test anxiety and academic stress were negatively predicted by the Mediterranean diet. In short, the results of the present study have shown that academic transfer to university and grading pressure can generate maladaptive consequences for food consumption.

Lecturer performance is related to the quality of educators that are owned by a university. Poor performance will affect the quality and carrying capacity of the sustainability of an organization, in this case the university. There are many models developed to measure the performance of teachers, but not much to discuss the influence of faculty performance itself towards sustainability of an organization that houses the professor. This study was conducted in an attempt to measure the performance of lecturers to support the sustainability of the university. A faculty performance assessment model is developed to see whether the performance of lecturers affect the sustainability of the university. The method used is descriptive and verification of data sample of 275 private university lecturers in Banten Province. Application of Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used to test the model and estimate hypothesis using LISREL Results showed that leadership, motivation, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment affect positively and significantly to the performance of lecturers either partially or together with a contribution of 84%. The perception of organizational commitment variable was high which is good. In addition, responsibility for the improvement of organizational performance based on indicators of commitment to the organization ranked highest score of the respondent's perception. This showed that the lecturers were highly committed to the organization which is a great asset in the process of sustainability of an organization. In addition to the score of a continuing commitment to the organization shows lecturers should continue to be fostered in order to maintain the quality of organizational performance. This study shows that the performance of lecturers can support the sustainability of the organization

The switching behaviour in cellular services has been constantly observed in the consumers. Therefore, it becomes difficult for cellular service providers to gain the competitive advantage and retain the consumers. The main focus of this study is to observe the factors that are pushing consumers to switch from their present cellular network. For the collection of data, questionnaire was rotated among the university students. In total, 247 useful responses were used in order to get the findings. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation model (SEM) were used for the evaluation of data. The findings show that inconvenience have a negative and significant impact on switching behaviour of the young adults. As compared to this, service encounter failure and attraction by competitors have a positive and significant impact on switching behaviour of the young adults. This study will help the companies in understanding the behaviour of the cellular subscribers and will also help to sustain them. The article also highlights the factors that are important for the consumers before making decision for final purchase or switching the network.

Multicultural awareness is very crucial for every student, as well as self-regulated learning. Until now, research on these two variables is still min-imal. Moreover, there are no studies that examine the factors that influence the relationship between the two variables. This study aims to explore the relation-ship between multicultural awareness and self-regulated learning in students and discuss the role of students' personal profile in the relationship between the vari-ables. The respondents of this study were 165 students of the City of Surabaya, Indonesia. The structural equation model is used for data analysis techniques. The results showed that hypothesis 1 was accepted, meaning a positive and sig-nificant effect of multicultural awareness on self-regulated learning. The path co-efficient was 0.284, while the t-statistics were more significant than 1.96 (2,544) or p-values less than 0.05 (0.011). Whereas in hypothesis 2, it is rejected, the path coefficient is -0.230 while the t-static is less than 1.96 (1,811) or the p-value is more significant than 0.05 (0.071). In conclusion, personal profiles do not affect the relationship between multicultural awareness-ness and self-regulated learn-ing. This study's recommendation is to provide information on need assessments useful in determining appropriate counseling strategies at the University.

The purpose of the study is to promulgate the “custrac model” that proposes how the Ghanaian university management through its relationship officers can attract fully qualified and competent students globally. Following a survey technique, data were collected from 500 respondents from the top five Universities in Ghana. Analysis was done using SmartPLS 3 to perform partial least square regression analysis on the structural equation model. Findings revealed that customer attraction is constructed on loyalty and further enhanced by satisfaction. The study focused on few respondents from only five public universities in Ghana, thus, inhibiting the generalization of the findings. Practically, the “custrac model” suggests that the university management should align their strategic relationship marketing stratagems in developing competitive and market-driven programs having in place a strong quality assurance directorate to attain customer attraction. The proposed “Custrac model” in this study shoots up our intellectual understanding of strategic relationship marketing.

This work tries to analyze the relationship between teacher training (TT), teacher training in inclusive education (TTIE), teacher training in technologies (TTT), teacher training in ecology (TTE) and teacher training in time of pandemic (TTP), through a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with structural equation model (SEM) of a Likert scale created ad hoc, validated and confirmed. For the search for answers, a non-experimental, descriptive, explanatory and correlational research process has been carried out. The instrument used to collect the data has been a scale, which has been validated in content and with an excellent Cronbach's alpha (.902). The construct validity has been carried out with an exploratory factorial analysis (EFA). The sample has been of 598 students of Master's Degree in Teacher Training and the last year (4th) of the Primary Education Degree from the University of Jaen (Spain). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between the different forms of teacher training, from the correlational analysis the highest coefficient is between teacher training and teacher training in ecology and teacher training in inclusive education. From the CFA it is confirmed that this correlation is a very strong one, so that inclusion and ecology should be central axes in all teacher training, on the other hand, it concludes the low relationship between teacher training and teacher training in times of pandemic, so that, at least in theory, Covid-19 should not affect teacher training.

Logical abilities are a ubiquitous ingredient in all those contexts that take into account soft skills, argumentative skills or critical thinking. However, the relationship between logical models and the enhancement of these abilities is rarely explicitly considered. Two aspects of the issue are particularly critical in our opinion, namely: (i) the lack of statistically relevant data concerning these competences; (ii) the absence of reliable indices that might be used to detect and measure the possession of abilities underlying the aforementioned skills. This paper addresses both aspects of this topic by presenting the results of a research that we conducted between October and December 2020 on students enrolled in various degree courses at the University of Florence. The dataset has been collected by a three-stage initiative. We started from an entrance examination to assess the students' initial abilities. This test included ten questions, each regarding a specific aspect of logical reasoning. Then, students underwent a short training course to strengthen their knowledge of logic. At the end of the short course, students underwent a final examination to evaluate the effectiveness of the training. To verify the effectiveness of the training program we used students’ characteristics into a Structural Equation Model comparing the distribution of abilities before and after the training.
