This work examines the pedagogy of dance and entrepreneurship in the society. In other words, it seeks to engender dynamic essence between theory and practice, dance scholar and choreographer, and their impact on students/dancers with respect to teaching dance as a career for profit making against art for art sake. The teaching approaches provide for managing dance establishments as well as the art and act of dancing. In doing this, we adopted the managerial system of the Footprints Arts Ambassadors in Lagos, Nigeria as a prototype. We apply some fundamental tools of entrepreneurship that determine efficiency and effectiveness of a particular approach to business to empower the trainees. In the deductive method, we carefully derived some assertions and information that would later become helpful for this study through the structured one-on-one interview held with the director of Footprints Arts Ambassadors. In analytical method, we did cursory analysis of dance pedagogy and entrepreneurial study as well as review related literatures, magazines and journals. We identified some pedagogical yardsticks and entrepreneurial approaches which have been used in successfully managing the fledging dance company. We also discovered some considerable factors to establishing a successful arts entrepreneurial company in Nigeria. We found that economic and social trend, as well as some personal entrepreneurial attributesplay key role in an entrepreneur’s approach to arts and theatre management. Therefore, we conclude that, whatever approach, style or operation mode a dance/theatre entrepreneur chooses; his aim should be for the success and development of both individuals and company. Thus, we recommend that dance scholars and practitioners update their teaching approach to making dance pedagogy a viable and self-reliant endeavour, rather than being a tool for entertainment, body therapy and cultural propagation alone. This will undoubtedlyposition dance on the same pedestrian with other art forms globally making wave in the entertainment industrytoday. This article discusses knowledge management system design for SSNFPOs. The transfer of best practice knowledge management to SSNFPOs is not easy. SSNFPOs have different strategies and ways of doing business compared to ‘for-profit' organisations. Sector reforms in disability services, aged care, and child services in Australia threaten to disrupt social value as new for-profit rivals enter and pursue economic value. In response, the case study organisation (CSO) has been working with the research team to consider how knowledge management might help it become a stronger organisation and ensure its survival and growth in the reformed sector. The research was informed by discussions involving the CSO's management and the research team over an 18 month period. A general framework for designing knowledge management for SSNFPOs was developed. It involves six theoretical platforms, along with problems associated with theory and practice, how knowledge management may address these problems, and measures of impact.

The Brazilian company has been aware of the importance of requiring the responsible use of public resources, made available to their elected representatives, reverting them into benefits that meet the needs of citizens. The bodies of external control are beginning to worry about achievement of targets and improvement of the performance of public policy and start to perform audits of an operational nature, seeking to evaluatethe management in terms of economy, efficiency and effectiveness, and the effectiveness of government expenditure. This research examined whether it was possible to identify weaknesses that jeopardise the effectiveness of the recommendations issued by operational audits conducted by the Court of the State of PE, from the concept of competitive intelligence and in order to subsidize a preventive action and / or contingencial. It was used the deductive method with literature search and documentary, with the analysis of all the recommendations of audits conducted operational and judged by the ECA / PE 2003-2007. It was concluded on the basis of competitive intelligence, that there are weaknesses that could compromise the effectiveness of implementing the recommendations issued by the operational audit, which once identified will allow the establishment of a preventive strategy, and contingencial a strategy to tackle the risk factors If materialise.

ABSTRACT Objective: To reflect on the advances and setbacks in the protection of the fundamental right to labor; demonstrate the interaction between theory and practice to meet the need for social transformation; and implementation and protection of fundamental rights in social, labor and business relations. Methodology: By way of the hypothetical deductive method of bibliographic review, with the use of comparative law and constitutional economic analysis of labor law, it will seek to reflect on the advances and setbacks in the protection of the fundamental right to labor. Results:The finding obtained from the investigation allows to conclude that, although thirty years after the Brazilian Constitution of 1988, its effectiveness still meets several barriers, which turns it into a letter of intentions. As a result, it is also possible to see a latent frustration in view of various infra-constitutional regulations that corrupt, deconstruct constitutional prediction, distort the democratic ideal and form a just and egalitarian society. However, as a result, the investigation is hopeful with the constitutional text, since there is a constitutionality and conventionality control to guarantee the effectiveness of the Magna Carta text, in particular labor legislation. Contributions: The contribution of the study lies in the constitutional reading of social relations, especially in the protection of social rights, in particular, labor law. Therefore, even if the infra-constitutional laws differ from the constitutional text, there are measures (control of constitutionality and conventionality) as mechanisms capable of resisting attacks against the constitutional ideal of an egalitarian, just and supportive society. KEYWORDS: Constitution; labor constitution; normative force; fundamental social rights; fundamental right to labor.

This Handbook provides students, researchers, practitioners and policymakers with summaries of the cutting-edge approaches to the analysis of the decision-making challenges faced by the managers of for-profit and nonprofit enterprises. The problems addressed run the gamut from cost estimation, product development and promotion, optimal pricing strategies for so-called network industries and make-or-buy decisions, to organizational design, performance pay, corporate governance, strategies for multinational corporations and the social responsibilities of business.By illustrating how a wide range of disciplines can fruitfully be brought to bear in helping to analyze and to understand the incentives and constraints under which business managers operate, the Handbook fills in the gaps between theory and practice. Sometimes technical, but always reader-friendly, no one with an interest in the modern world of business orpublic policies toward it can afford to ignore the analyses and important lessons presented by the contributors to this first handbook on topics in managerial economics.

Overloading of road freight vehicles accelerates road damage, creates unfair competition in the transport market, and increases safety risk. There is a dearth of research on the mining of data of highway Freight Weight (FW), and this paper therefore aims to discover factors affecting road freight overloading based on highway FW data, with a view of developing strategies to mitigate such occurrences. A comprehensive sampling survey of road freight transportation was conducted in Anhui Province (China). Vehicle Characteristics (VC), Operation Mode (OM), and transportation information from a total of 3248 trucks were collected. In order to take advantage of the strengths associated with both statistical modelling techniques and non-parametric methods, a Classification And Regression Tree (CART) technique was integrated with Binary Logistic Regression (BLR) to reveal the factors affecting road freight overloading. The classification efficacy test shows that the BLR–CART method outperformed the BLR method in term of accuracy. It is also revealed that the factors affecting overloading of freight vehicles are the Type of Transportation (ToT), Rated Load (RL), OM, FW during the investigation period, interaction between RL and FW, and interaction among RL, FW, and Average Haul Distance (AHD). Road transport authorities should pay greater attention to these factors in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of overloading inspection.

Running a not-for-profit (NFP) organisation is not a straight-forward task. The Chief Executive (CE) must deliver on promises to the Board and members, meet the needs of funders, coordinate with partner organisations, lead staff, and ensure that services to clients are effective. The NFP CE leads her organisation through a maze of separate, overlapping and occasionally colliding stakeholder interests. In this study, I investigate in theory and practice, the ways NFP CEs work within their distinct environment of specific accountabilities to negotiate a viable strategic direction for their organisations. I argue thatnavigating the accountability landscape is a key feature of NFP leadership. This thesis looks at the question: how do NFP CEs lead effectively? Sub-questions include: what is effective not-for-profit leadership, what are some of the frameworks employed by CEs to navigate their accountabilities, and how do CEs judge the success of their leadership? I present an insider view, based on my own experience as a CE of an NFP organisation, English Language Partners New Zealand (ELPNZ). The thesis traces my research journey as I moved through cycles of theorising, data collection, and reflection. Starting with data from a pilot study, I present results of interviews with five local-level managers regarding their perceptions of accountability. There is notable variety in how the informants in the pilot study describe and rank their accountabilities. Rather than seeing this result as anomalous, I capitalise on differences and uncover multiple accountability conceptualisations. Utilising theoretical categorisations, I note where 'upward' accountabilities to funders compete with 'downward' accountabilities to clients or 'lateral' accountabilities to other sector organisations.

With the accountability landscape in mind, I review literature on NFP leadership. Scholarship on leadership has moved away from a focus on great leaders' traits and towards transactional, situational and contextualised models. Borrowing from this evolution in the leadership literature, I posit that the various accountability 'orientations' uncovered in my pilot study could be considered as behaviours in context rather than personal traits; behaviours that may be adaptive within an environment of multiple accountabilities. I employ both autoethnographic techniques and interviews with other CEs to unpack different 'mindscapes' behind NFP leadership in New Zealand. A series of research journals over a two-month period notes the leadership acts I had undertaken with others, my effectiveness, reflections, and learning. Further data were gathered through interviews with four CEs of national, government-funded, membership organisations.

The study contributes to both academic and practitioner enquiry. Findings included linkages between organisational accountabilities, and the mechanisms and processes CEs employ to lead their organisations. NFP CEs develop unique descriptions of the groups to whom they account and have individualised conceptualisations of a ranking or pattern. Mission leadership processes and organisational management (with associated hierarchies) simultaneously shape the CE's role. CEs can be effective when they implement a conscious programme of leadership and practice deliberately situational approaches to accountability.

This article presents a review and analysis of empirically based research on strategic management in nonprofit organizations appearing in peer-reviewed journals between 1998 and 2015, and compares these findings with an earlier, similar study to determine how nonprofit use of strategic management has evolved over time. Findings suggest that determinants of strategic management have evolved beyond funder requirements to include environmental pressures to increase organizational efficiency and effectiveness, professionalize staff capacities, and respond to changing customer requirements. Nonprofits continue to use strategic management in response, and have recently adopted a wide range of for-profit strategies and practices in both strategy content and strategy performance areas. Strategic management offers both risks and rewards for nonprofits, but requires significant time, resources, and human capital that not all nonprofits readily possess.RÉSUMÉCet article présente l’évaluation et l’analyse de recherches empirique—parues entre 1998 et 2015 dans des revues évaluées par les pairs—sur la gestion stratégique d’organismes à but non lucratif.
