Introduction and purpose of the research: The inevitable condition of management is uncertainty. Innovation activity is more risky than other areas of entrepreneurship. In the conditions of instability of the economic situation, the problem of the risk of loss when the company invests in innovations becomes especially relevant.Hypothesis of scientific research. It is assumed that the justification of enterprise risk management measures should be based on the synthesis of the economic feasibility of the method and its ability to address the risk, which will enable competent executives to choose effective risk management tools for the enterprise. The aim is to study the process of risk management in the innovation activity of the enterprise, to develop and substantiate the recommendations for the formation of the enterprise risk management mechanism taking into account the ownership form and its size.Research methods:- comparison methods to identify the weak and strong points of the classification schemes, methods of risk assessment and management;- systematization and classification to determine the characteristics (advantages, disadvantages, peculiarities of application) of methods of enterprise risk assessment, risk management methods and construction of a classification scheme of enterprise risks as the basis of the mechanism of its risk management;- decompositions in the construction of a business risk card due to the division and analysis of the totality of its business activities;- expert assessments in determining the enterprise risks for small, medium and large enterprises in the field of mechanical engineering. Results: substantiated and solved problems of implementation of the strategic approach in project risk management at the enterprise. Conclusions: the mechanism of enterprise risk management based on the system approach combines the administrative, legal and organizational components, makes it possible to identify the risks of the company in three aspects (industry characteristic, form of ownership, size), ensures the formation of a portfolio of risks of a particular enterprise and creates the principles for improving the management mechanism for them.

This article gives a brief description of the existing regulations related to biomaterials safety that need to be considered before it is introduced into EU market. According to these regulations, the risk analysis should include two characteristics: probability of occurrence of harm, and severity. Identified user-related harm should be reduced by managing the risk. Additionally, the review presents an overview of engineered biomaterials (EBMs), which in combination with nanoscale components (NPs) have shown promises in Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) and Medical Devices (MD). In this article, recent challenges, objectives and perspectives in risk assessment and risk management of ATMP and MD composed of nanobiomaterials were also highlighted.

This article examines the development of generic cancer risk assessment guidelines, or cancer policy, from 1976-1984. Risk assessment is considered the objective determination of the degree of risk from a substance. Risk management is the subjective determination of acceptable risk. However, uncertainties in the scientific foundations of cancer policy necessitate risk assessment inference choices, for example, over appropriate dose-response extrapolation models. Those choices are only partially scientific; they are also partially political. There is, as a result, an inevitable mixture of facts and values in cancer policy. The article explores ten inference controversies and evaluates how nine cancer policy documents resolved those controversies. It then traces the course of cancer policy development, showing how the Carter and Reagan administrations produced policies with difference emphases and considers several major challenges to cancer policy. The article then provides several justifications for cancer policy in the face of those challenges. It suggests, in the conclusion, that the controversies are unlikely to be resolved by science alone and politics will continue to influence the content of cancer policies.

The paper presents the problematic area of the formation of the parties of innovation activities in holdings and its methodological justification. The objective preconditions for differentiating intersubject interactions as a part of innovation activity with the participation of holdings are considered. Features of the formation of innovation strategies and goal-setting mechanisms are structured; their features in large enterprises are emphasized. The importance of determining the optimal parties of the innovation network as a factor of increasing the efficiency of implementation of innovation activity is substantiated. The external and internal environments of the holding are considered as sources of attracting participants of innovation activity. Features of the procedure for selecting the structure of innovation activity, complicated by the conditions of multi- project environment, are presented. Positive effects from the introduction of the scientific approach to the determination of the parties of innovation activity were revealed.

Abstract The presence of acrylamide in many carbohydrate-rich foods is due to its formation during conventional heating and preparation methods. Although acrylamide is established to be a toxic substance, the implications to public health from the amounts found in food are not clear. A better scientific understanding is required to help determine whether, and to what extent, formal risk management action might be necessary. Since acrylamide in food was highlighted in 2002, numerous investigations and initiatives have been developed, including international collaborations across governments, industry, research organizations, and consumer representations. The newly generated information is being used to help the overall understanding of this issue. In particular, new information on health aspects will be important to update the scientific risk assessment. The basis for decisions on possible risk management measures would then be clearer. If future risk assessment concludes that the amounts of acrylamide in food can pose a health threat, then options for risk management will need to be considered, such as limits, guide levels, codes of practice, guidance information, and advice to the food and catering industries and to consumers. In the meantime, it is possible to benefit from progress already made on how acrylamide is formed in food and on ways to lower the amounts present. Raising awareness to the approaches that can reduce the presence of acrylamide in food should be encouraged. Where feasible, such approaches can be assessed for practical use in production, processing, and preparation of the relevant food products.

The construction of power engineering is a basic undertaking in China, and it is also one of the sources of power for China’s development. Because there are many links in the construction of electric power projects, the probability of occurrence of risks is relatively high, and it is easy to cause accidents in subsequent projects and lead to the failure of electric power projects. In order to be able to solve this problem, risk management measures can be taken, the paper analyzes the risk management in the construction of electric power projects.

The problem of sustainable development of industrial territories is considered with using a nonzero risk concept of accidents and catastrophes. Th e mathematical models for risk assessment were chosen for the information system of territorial risk management and safety. The purpose of the work is to identify and analyze basic technological risks for the information system of territorial risk management and safety (IST RMS) of the Krasnoyarsk territory. This information system provides making decision on the implementation of measures aimed at reducing the risks of sustainable development. The following tasks are set in the work: determination of the basic technospheric risks; calculation and analyzing risk of anthropogenic emergencies on the example of the Krasnoyarsk territory; safety analysis of the region. To achieve the purpose of this work were used probabilistic-statistical research methods. The relevance of the work is determined by the need to implement a national safety strategy at the regional level through risk assessment and analysis. The result of the work is an assessment of technological risks and a generalized security analysis of the municipalities and regions in the Krasnoyarsk territory. We obtained the basic development risks and algorithms for assessing territorial safety are determined using statistical analysis, ranges of individual, collective, material and social risks in an anthropogenic emergency. The classifying of territories according to the degree of anthropogenic hazard was carried out. Based on the obtained results, we conclude that in order to achieve acceptable risk values, it is necessary to use an integrated system approach to multifunctional monitoring of territories.

Abstract Due to water resources limitations, special attention has been paid to wastewater reuse in recent years. The risks associated with wastewater reuse alternatives should be considered in decision-making. Even when selecting the alternative with the least risk, risk management issues are of high importance. This study aims to develop an algorithm for risk-based management of wastewater reuse alternatives. This algorithm uses a three-step risk assessment and management approach. Risks are identified, then risks of alternatives are assessed, and, finally, risk management measures are proposed for risk reduction in the selected alternative. In risk identification, economic, social, health, and environmental aspects are taken into account. In risk assessment, its three components of likelihood, severity, and vulnerability are considered through a fuzzy inference system. Alternatives are prioritized based on calculated risks using a fuzzy VIKOR method. A case study is presented in which the proposed algorithm is used to select the best alternative for reuse of treated wastewater from Ekbatan Town, located in the western part Tehran in Iran. The results showed that the proposed approach provides the users with an easier understanding of risks and increases the relative confidence of decision-makers about the selection of the best alternatives for wastewater reuse and their risk control methods.
